Only for this reason I have to rate this a distant 2nd.
Babbycatt. Firstly, What can I say. OMG is exactly right. What floor presence and sublime dance ability. I feel blessed that I was actively competing at the time Sergey and Slavik were at the top of their game and saw them both live. I have never seen an audience go off like that, ever and I've seen most of the very best, including Brian and Carmen and Riccardo and Yulia. Two of the very special memories of my dance career. Secondly, Sergey or Slavik? Gee Wizz, what a tough question you ask. They remain my absolute male Latin gods and I feel disrespectful to even choose. But I will and that would be Slavik. Not because he's necessarily a better dancer, but purely because of the magnificent, body of show dance work that he has been involved in creating over his long career, with not just one, but multiple partners. Many are just simply dance masterpieces. As for his partnership with Karina, well that for me is a partnership created by god himself on one of his best days. I have very deep roots in this sport and people think todays dancers are good, and they are, but there is another kind of good if one cares to go back a decade or two. I can suggest a few other older vids that I think you would like very much. Holler if you want to know. But I"m so chuffed that you really enjoyed Sergey and Melia who are part of an extraordinary golden era of ballroom Latin dancing. Those of us who lived it are as dancers very fortunate.
