As another plus sized person I thought I was a real wizard for packing for a wedding and a conference in the same 12 day trip last year. I now realize I could have done it WAY easier if I had ditched the two pairs of jeans I had brought with me. I'm not as much of a minimalist so I tend to bring a little more in general which is why I just ordered a set of compression packing cubes and I am SUPER looking forward to trying them out on a trip i have planned for later this year. (PS I caught that Sleep Token shirt!!! I saw one of their shows in N America this tour and it absolutely ruled)
Compression packing cubes will forever be one of my most recommended items for people wanting to minimize their packing, I hope you like yours! Great catch with the Sleep Token tee! I was heading to Germany to go see them on that trip, and went to their Canadian show for their most recent N America tour as well! They’re amazing 👌🏻
Yeah, I pretty much avoid taking jeans at all these days. Just too heavy and take up too much space. My one caveat would be if I were doing a trip that I expected to be rough on my clothes. Nothing holds up quite like denim
I have vessis too! I got white ones specifically for my trip to Europe, they go so well with dresses and skirts. I also like that they have removable insoles so I can put my orthotics in. They’re so comfy and stylish and WATERPROOF
Danie is spot on about the shoes. I’ve made the same mistake before, and making a packing inventory is the best way to cut unnecessary clothes on a future trip. Danie has a video IIRC showing how to make a packing inventory. Glad to see you back on TH-cam, Danie!
For that trip (I've recently done something similar) I would have opted for (waterproof) boots (wear on plane) and foldable ballet flats (for dressier occasions or to wear in public areas of hotels, great for running down to front desk etc)
Love this video Danie! I've missed seeing you!!!! I love this wig and love those black pants (slacks/trousers)! GREAT JOB!! I have some Vessi shoes (not slip ons) and haven't really worn them since they seem to fit a bit weird - you've inspired me to give them a try!! Thank you!! and, I wish Monos or Vessi would sponsor you!
Thank you! Definitely recommend trying the Vessi slip ons, I’ve also had the other sneakers and wore them a lot but they did have a problem with the fit, I wear these slip ons every single day now and they are so comfortable, definitely wish I could get sponsored 😭
The colour and style of your wig really suits you‼ Vessi has slip-ons 🙀 now I definitely need to make the trip to Metrotown for a try on 😹 Also anti-umbrella, don't like carting it around and then figuring out what to do with it when it is wet; so coats with hoods are my go to.
Thank you, this was super helpful.I just came across you today and I'm already thinking what I need to get for a cold December trip to Rome, Greece and Istanbul next year . I tend to over pack for sure ! Definitely getting a pair of the waterproof Vessis.Canadians do waterproof really well! Can you please tell me which fleece lined tights you got ? Sometimes they can be so constricting for large ladies like myself they are like wearing a girdle ( yes, I'm that old !)
Im glad you enjoyed the video! Vessis have been my travel staple for over 3 years now, I swear by them. For my fleece lined tights, I searched for “plus size fleece tights” on Amazon and chose the ones with the highest review, it was a two pack and I’ve only gone through one pair so far so I’m quite happy with them! Looking into potentially getting a skin coloured set for this winter.
Looking forward to your next video. I suppose you use a clip of some sort to attach and hold your baseball cap outside your backpack? Great to see you are doing well!
While I love those pants they wouldn't be what I'd reach for, for a cold climate trip. Even with under layers I'd be worried about draughts. This would be a shoulder season pick for me, (but I'm from a hot country)
Great suggestions so refreshingly down to earth...just the video was looking for. Love your hair colour and style too. How do you ensure you have data or wifi you can rely on please? I would stay in hostels which are very unreliable.
For Data I always rely on eSIMs for whichever country I’m going to, and definitely have multiple backpack plans for wifi wherever I am for work. I usually have luck with wifi in hostels, but if not definitely scouring cafes nearby that would work instead
Yup, agree with Dani, esims are great (just do a lot of research - make sure the one you're looking at has good coverage of all the areas of your trip). For my last trip, bcos I was solo and really needed to be able to access my uploaded receipts/tickets at any given time, I took 2 phones - 1 I used with an esim, the other I got a local SIM for (I was traveling in a country where I have family and not all of them are internet savvy but I needed to be in touch). That worked really well and was lighter than carrying a phone and a tablet, which had been my initial thought. Would recommend you research esim options for the specific country/s you're visiting, bcos some don't work as well in certain countries as they do in others. I ended up going with a less popular option for the country I did recently bcos they had local network access, which other (more popular) ones didn't. Worked great, I was rarely without service in a country renown for poor service
I’ve travelled carry on only in Europe/asia/North America where they are pretty strict 7/8 kilo limits, never had issues. My personal item is usually the heaviest thing because of my laptop and stuff 😅
I actually got a two pack off of Amazon for a good price! Was happy to have found plus size fleece tights that actually fit. I feel a little misled that you didn't show actually packing the winter clothes in a carry on. Anyone can SAY that they did. Maybe let us know at the beginning that you won't be showing packing the suitcase. Safe travels.
I have quite a few videos just like this where I show the packing in depth, this was a slightly different video to my normal ones as I was already at my destination, so it was implied that clearly this fit in my suitcase since I got to my destination
@@lifeofdanieactually, my goal is to have just the suitcase…as long as it has an outside pocket, I’m good to go. I pack a flat crossbody purse to use at destination.
@heidiewert9145 great goal! I’ve done it a few times, but being a remote worker, and for longer trips I don’t really like just the suitcase so my backpack is a perfect addition for me without going into checked bag territory

Awesome work, everyone should sponsor you.😊
Seoul is the coldest place I've ever lived, that wind coming from Siberia. I used to wish i had a balaclava!
Oh yeah a balaclava would be perfect in Seoul! The winds are insane 😅
Hey Danie, great seeing you again. Enjoyed the video - I don't think there are enough travel regret videos out there. Mistakes are how we learn
Very true!
Love this wig on you. 😊
Thank you 🥰
This type of video is very helpful. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏼

New subscriber! Love your video and ideas for minimalism ❤
I’m so glad you’re enjoying the videos and getting new ideas!
Where did you find those two adorable dresses? The sweater dress and the green dress??
Green dress is from an online store called Cider, and the sweater dress i honestly can’t remember as I’ve had it for years I’m sorry😅
Looking forward to your next video. I suppose you use a clip of some sort to attach and hold your baseball cap outside your backpack? Great to see you are doing well!
Thank you :) when I’m travelling I tend to just wear my baseball cap so I don’t lose it
Where did you get that raincoat? I love that!
It’s a Calvin Klein trench that I got years ago from either Winners or Marshalls!
❤ good to see you back here! Where are your black pants from? Absolutely love them
They’re from the online store Cider!

I was wondering does your carry on have a weight limit when you travel? Most airlines in asia only have a 7 kilo limit . This is where i struggle.
I’ve travelled carry on only in Europe/asia/North America where they are pretty strict 7/8 kilo limits, never had issues. My personal item is usually the heaviest thing because of my laptop and stuff 😅

Thank you for the feedback! I tried to make the back ground music quiet, but I’ll keep that in mind for the future :)

Love you, but it’s not really just a carryon is it…
Not sure what you mean, I travel only with a carry on suitcase and a personal item backpack, which is the definition of carry on only :)
@@lifeofdanie Ohhhhhh! i took it to mean carryon sized suitcase only!
