  • This video shows you how to get started with ASHES. Everything should be pretty straightforward but just leave us a comment if you run into trouble.
    To download ASHES go to www.simis.io/
    You can find the user manual here www.simis.io/help/
    and the forum here www.simis.io/Q-and-A/
    To know more about the NREL 5MW turbine used in this video, check out this link www.nrel.gov/docs/fy09osti/38...
    Cheers!

    Hello , congratulations on this video series !! Does Ashes also work with vertical wind turbines ?

      Hi Kasa, thanks a lot! Unfortunately Ashes cannot model vertical wind turbines yet, what kind of project do you need that with? And feel free to download and try Ashes for yourself!

    hey AHES teams. i really like this software i realy wanna expand my experience on renwable energies. my question is? AHES is an open source SW!. thanks

      Hi Mohamed, thanks for your comment! Ashes is not open-source, but do get in touch with us at support@simis.io so that we can have a chat about options for you to use Ashes.
      Cheers,
      The Ashes team

      Thanks for your interest in Ashes, Mohamed. Ashes is not open source. Ashes is commercial software with the wind turbine industry as our main customers. However, we offer academic licenses at a significantly reduced price. If you are a student, we suggest you talk to your teacher or professor about getting a department license. Personal licenses for non-commercial use are also available.

    Hi, can this software be used to simulate the time series loads?

    • @AshesWindTurbineSimulation
      @AshesWindTurbineSimulation  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea definitely, you have a video on how to do that here th-cam.com/video/JIBf8AzhPOc/w-d-xo.html. What kind of project are you working on? You can also drop us a mail at support@simis.io if you want to have a chat

    Hey, does this software only work for wind turbines? I actually need it for aeroelastic load calculations on an aircraft's wings. Is it possible?

      Interesting question! And we think the answer is: yes, it's possible, but we're not sure how much of what you are looking for you can do. Can you briefly explain what kind of analysis you would like to do and which results you want? Anyway, to get something that is similar to the wings of an airplane, you can: 1) Use 2 blades, 2) Set the initial azimuth to 90 deg 2) Set initial pitch to 90 deg, 3) Fix the main shaft 4)Choose Fixed as pitching system. Please, use the User manual to find more details. Looking forward to hear how it worked out.
