People are always making fun of British Rail for its shortcomings. But that's before you realize that in the UK, literally everything is trying to kill locomotives - Mineshafts, bees, turntables, bulls, snow, other locomotives
That's just such a funny event! What makes it even better is the fact that the driver didn't even hesitate to wait for the green flag, he just left with the whole train because of some bees!
I’m not sure if I’d call it a direct INSPIRATION as much as I’d call it life imitating art in this case?? But who knows homie, maybe someone saw the same article we did and it ended up James gets a bee sting? 🤣
@ItsTrainBoy yeah good point. It is a funny case of life imitating art lol, I always find that funny tbf. Haha it'd be funny if someone saw the same article, poor James though
Amazing video! I never expected buzz buzz would have a true story! I always love your videos on these true stories, awesome job m8! Also it is my birthday today :) (Update) I have required the Grommet mug and a drum set
Awesome video homie , I always loved this episode as a kid . Just seeing James getting stun on the nose was hilarious 😂💀 and his trackmaster and wooden railway models are always a 10/10 well most of them 😂
Thank you so much my homie, and I couldn’t agree more I wish I had a collection of them ALONE 🤣 (At least the real ones, those knockoffs get a liiiiittle weird haha)
I agree, james is definetly the best character ! I also like the filter used for the episode footage, black and white for the backround but the engines still have their colours !
I’d call the RWS story more of a direct adaptation in comparison to the TVS episode given that Main Line Engine’s “Buzz Buzz” is essentially a bee incident with some James vs. Duck energy applied to it. I’ve never heard this story in full though, quite amusing if I do say so.
It’s a hump yard, it’s moving downhill into a determined siding!! :D Here’s a modern example from BNSF: www.bnsf.com/news-media/railtalk/service/hump-yards.html
The episode is almost a complete rewrite of the original story from Main Line Engines. The book version is the second part of BoCo's story arc: his interaction with Bill and Ben in The Diseasel, then taking over the Express after James's incident in Buzz Buzz, which leads to Gordon being unhappy about it (letting branch line diesels pull main line trains) in Wrong Road, before BoCo "saves" Gordon from Bill and Ben. I appreciate that they probably didn't have the animation or budget to adapt it for Series 2 like they did in the end. The only parts of the episode that are faithful to the original story are James's interaction with Duck, and the station scene.
I would say the possibility of it happening was pretty good. Last week. We had a swarm of honeybees randomly colonize the hitch of a 9200 John Deere tractor at work. I have photos just can’t post them obviously

I don't know why but the thought of an older gentleman caring so much for each and every bee is quite wholesome he even wanted them near to visit.❤
Agreed, if only everyone in the world was an Old Fred. ❤️🔥
@@ItsTrainBoy You got that right. James the red engine is also my favorite character.
@@ItsTrainBoy Old Fred reminds me of a Bee keeper me and my Mum used to know. I wonder if Fred ever got stung like our friend did
Back in my day TrainBoy was making the WW2 customs!
The good ol’ days right there!! 🤣
How has it been two years since then?
I believe so, nice profile picture by the way I'm a big George Harrison fan myself.

Maybe If James was painted black and Yellow like in the Green controller that bee wouldn't have stung him .

Blue flowers- WAIT A MINUTE! (THE BEES LIKE BLUEBELL FLOWERS!) That maybe good to note
Out of all the storys that was based on real events it had to be my fav. James is the goat fr.
One of my friends got stung on the face by a bee a week ago and it appears that James also had it happen to him. Great video TB.
fun fact: the bee in the episode is animated by toei animation, the same people who do dragon ball and pretty cure!

I hope it’s the best one yet, make sure it’s nothing but AMAZING memories today ❤️🔥🎁🎊
@@ItsTrainBoy thanks!
James got stung so hard he lost his ability to see green.
I believe this incident actually was the inspiration - IIRC, it's mentioned in The Thomas the Tank Engine Man.
And one of the porters in the original story is called Fred. Nice touch there by Awdry!

“Life imitating Art?” - should be the other way around.

Any time or anywhere, Trainboy has something to offer. From history of fictional stories, modeling, or shooting down a wild AEG Thomas

Thomas and friends been my childhood, and I don’t like bees at all and awesome Vid my dude
Ever heard the song “Mississippi Squirrel Revival”? That’s one of the first things I thought of when watching Buzz Buzz.
we used to know a nice person who kept Bees as pets and sold his honey at our local market. I understand way Fred loved his Bees so much.
Nice video. I think this was actually the inspiration for Awdry’s story, as the details are similar.

Awesome video trainboy
I always knew that crazy crap like that could happen, just funnily enough it happened to James
Amazing video and I can’t believe that this episode is based on a true story
Was it just me or are all the green things de-saturated and gray...
Idk maybe that was intentional and I just don't know it
It was intentional; it’s just a little way to help with copyright and keep it interesting visually :)
Even Boco was grey
HELP THE JAMES TRANSFORMATION IMAGE😭
I was wondering why the color was different at the beginning and then I realized it was also mirrored for copyright. Very cool trick
James buzz buzz? More like James rizz rizz
NO! NOT THE BEES! NOT THE BEEEEESSSSSSS! AHHHHHHHHHHH

So all this happened to u or your reading the source or this actually happened im curious
I was not alive in 1956 unfortunately so I’d say the source is a safe bet 🤣
Train boy are you really now a bee keeper
Why the green gray?
Really it just helps with copyright and such, but also kinda makes it look a little more unique with James being the focal point. :)
Ok
I am so confused as to how this story even happened in real life, let alone become a thomas story
Guess I'll have to watch to find out
It's best to read the original story from *Main Line Engines*
@Greg Kiteos I know th story about buzz buzz I meant the real life one.
Hi
Why is like nearly all the video mirrored? Its really distracting especially with James's number and also why is BoCo grey what
It’s an easy way to avoid copyright infringement; similar to how EmpLemon does with Simpson clips. It also keeps Mattel away from the video lol
Wow
where green
it go 💨
James lost to see green after the Bees
Hey

The color grading filter feels a little weird looking. It made it look like a cheaply made fan video, until I saw that was the actual episode.
