Holy shit, nice reference and spot fucking on. I remember playing that interesting, but piece of shit gaming console at Blockbuster video. The one color (red) shit totally undermined their "amazing" 3d tech.
Robot Stop is always the first song I play for friends who are interested in King Gizzard past the “Australian hard-psych-rock-and-sometimes-jazz band with two drummers and microtones” explanation. It completely nails the band’s hard-rock aspect without being _too_ hard/metal (I use Rattlesnake as a similar intro to their softer/psychedelic side), and the video is incredible. It’s the perfect gateway drug.
By the looks of it it's 1 bit color with dithering until 1:00, then it's 2 bit color with dithering except for 2:33 Later on they introduce one or two more bits of color
This might be the only video in existence that looks best at 1080p _OR_ 240p. Seriously, put it in 240p and go to 0:36 and watch his face. Now go back to 0:36 and rewatch it in 1080p and notice how it drastically switches to somehow being higher quality AND seeming to have less detail. The rest of the video is like that too. It's pretty interesting and ALWAYS striking to switch back to HD.
Did anyone else notice that the solo's are represented as bugs in the shapes of instruments? From 2:20 to about 3:10 the bugs that appear on screen are corresponding to who's playing the solo at that point. First its the harmonica, then it's Stu's guitar, and so on. Very cool.
just to add onto this - in order of appearance there is: armbroses harmonica, stus flying micro, (what i think is) Craig's blue boy, (again, what i think is) the hagstrom F-12 (which i wouldnt be surprised by considering this album was played on it and it was a staple of this period of king gizz), another guitar that im not sure of, and lukeys bass. very cool details!
I thought King G was overrated until I heard this whole album and then started other albums, and holy shit. They are probably the best modern, and most original rock bands today.
This is really cool! I see some of you noticed that the riff at 3:58 is from the song Hot Water. The Bonnaroo 2022 gig they did started off with Robot Stop and went into the song Hot Water using that Riff to meld the two. With all that said, I love the callback.
this is the quintessential king gizz song imo. hard psych rock full of energy with an instrumental section that includes a kick-ass harmonica solo and a microtonal guitar part. not to mention plenty of interesting time signature changes.
This is epic! Also, coincidentally, our first names and surname's first initial are the same, so I doubt the awesomeness of your work is ALSO coincidental... your epic work here is no fluke, man. Hope you enjoy creating it as much as I've enjoyed experiencing it! /thumbs-up

A SEVEN BEAT PER MEASURE CHORUS? AND IT *WORKS* ? i think this might be one of my new favorite bands. i love crazy music theory ideas, especially when they work.
These dudes LOVE weird time signatures, and they make them work so well. I'm fairly certain a song on their latest album has a song with 15 beats per measure, but I haven't heard it yet.
You should check out their newer album called “Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava” It was recorded in about a week, and each song is based on one of the seven Greek modes. This is also where the album got its seven-word title, with each first letter corresponding to the first letter of one of the modes: Ice - Ionian, Death - Dorian, Planets - Phrygian, Lungs - Lydian, Mushrooms - Mixolydian, and - Aeolian, Lava - Locrian
It's actually in this one case not that much of TH-cam's fault, fractals by nature are impossible to compress without loosing quality. If you wanted to view this with any artifacts you would need to download at least an 800gb+ probably closer to a terabyte video. Even by my standards(and I HATE compression) an "acceptable" version of this would be very close to 100gbs.(I've made a few 3-5 minute 1080p fractal renders myself) Fractal animations really change the game when it comes to the amount of memory required to truly see them as the artist does.(which is closely related to the major themes of Murder of the Universe and Nonagon Infinity) It's actually one of the effects that is present in the video some the compression artifacts morph into real objects. you know the bugs, the annoying fucking insects :) :) :) the thing you can't get away from :)
I love the foreshadowing of the "Big Fig Wasp" around 3:30 with the riff of that track kicking in, combined with the visuals of the spiders (manifesting from the robotic characteristics he has been embodying), transforming into wasps rounding up, plaguing the brain, then preparing to be released and manifested into his life (or maybe they are the ones operating the robotic machinery and are not a result of the robots?...) Either way I think the wasps are a manifestation of any negative state of mind or mood caused by being so robot-like in this modern society. And they are ready to let loose in the next song (and possibly video?)... Then again, fuck, it's so hard to interpret such surreal art with such a limited thing as human language. Hmm.. Left in shock at all my senses being overwhelmed and not being able to fully put the ride into words. Art. (Anyway thats just my personal opinion of that part and what happens next in "big fig wasp").
Domsy Adams - I think you're overthinking it buddy. There are fragments of the next song (or of older songs) in the whole album. I don't know their reason to do it, but it's good and it makes it much easier to transition between songs during live gigs. This whole Gizzverse thing, I think fans are thinking too far, I mean I'd love if it existed and there was a nice story behind all this but I don't know. Look at how they explain the origin of their name, somehow these guys don't strike me as the deep mysterious types.
Well this track foreshadows their other song Hot Water which IS about the negativity of society. Plus they put like a huge amount of detail into every single song + most videos. So yeah, I’m also one of those fans that over thinks the whole gizzverse thing lol it’s so inevitable when you’re into their music though
This song is so hyped up. There's something about this opener and I'm in Your Mind....that just makes you wanna boot in a door when they unleash those frantic bass lines...I always describe KG as a frenzy of sound (especially live) and this song really exemplifies that frantic sound! 🔥
i think its awesome that the first song on the album happens the last in chronological order. The end is the beginning, and vice versa. Very fitting for the album
My music teacher at school recommended me The Murder of the Universe like a week ago, I've listened to like 8 albums from them, I got a new favorite band
