Yea. I'm 3 years late to the party. The statement that Miyako made about tinkering with guitars has the origin story of the late great Eddie Van Halen. Miyako, keep on tinkering. IMHO - you and Midori are a lethal combination of guitarists and I really enjoy listening to. I am waiting for a US tour and will do the city to city like I did with band maid 2023 10th anniversary tour
those are some massive capacitors! They will actually store a little charge. But they are likely just high voltage versions of smaller caps. But yes caps really change the sound of a guitar.
thank you so much for the translation. miyako is some kind of superwoman: master pianist, master guitarist, talented composer, humble, kind, elegant and graceful and very likeable personality. the stoic coolness is just her stage role.
She looks stoic coolness on stage, but I think maybe she's just nervous. In the video after the show included in Five of a kind, she said "I was the most nervous I've ever been at a show"
Thanks for the translation! I just love her humbleness, she even calls her guitar tech "ローディーさん" (Rōdī-san) i.e. "Mr. Roadie". And interresting mod she did.
Well you can go to the Steve Vai and if you have a cover that needs to be removed you can either use velcro or magnets to keep put on no use for having to use a screwdriver anymore
This capacitor probably works the same as in loudspeaker filters, if you put it in line with the signal it works like a high pass filter and filters out low frequenties. If you put it between signal and ground it filters out high frequenties. The frequentie it starts cutting off depends on the value (in microfarad) of the capacitor. She says her guitar sounds warmer with the new capacitor, so I guess it works as a low pass filter cuts the higher frequenties. Nice guitar.

I love your channel. It is very informative and we appreciate Miyako taking time to share her knowledge. Thank you as well for the excellent translation. As a point of observation: I am amazed at how beautiful her hands are, especially for someone who plays the guitar. What's her secret?
Hello Miyako. I think your guitar looks very nice. Has a very nice grain. It certainly feels very smooth when playing. A question about the capacitors. Is this permanently under high voltage when the 9 volt battery is connected? Sorry for lost in translation.

@@metlansration_jp sounds plausible. I bet she is a perfectionist. thank you so much. :)
@@CaffeineNightOwl In that video she punches herself in the head at the end as if she was saying "I should have done better"! 😄
Thanks so much for the video and the translation. Miyako is so talented, humble and adorable.
Thank you your comment!
Thank you so much for the information Miyako, very interesting, now i know why Lovebites sounds so heavy and amazing.

Thank you, Roadie-san means a road crew or a road manager. In Japanese, it is common to add "san" to occupations to polite.
@@metlansration_jp Yes, I know the Japanese language has levels of politeness "built in". I like that. And Japanese people are always so respectful. ❤
Very interesting, thanks for sharing, from 🇨🇦

I understand capacitors. It is a filter. But why batteries if there is no active components? Do the pickup need power?
yes they are active pickups.
