Would you believe that Stefan was only 24 when he first played Robbie Rotten? Who would've that this role would launch him into worldwide fame, especially in the states. You can tell in the TV series that Stefan made a fantastic attempt at an American accent for Robbie. He also reminds me so much of Jim Carrey. RIP Stefan Karl. You'll always be our number 1. Thanks for my childhood memories.
And such a gifted actor as well and fun fact, Stefan was the one of the only Lazytown actors to make public appearances at several theme parks and events around the world as Robbie.
I can't stop listening to this. I love Stefan's voice. He just has a beautifully unique gift to make everything he sings a classic. Even when he's not singing he is just a class act. I've never even met him yet still I miss him.
I wish they somehow adapted this song into the show. It's one of Robbie's best songs, it's on the same level as Master of Disguise when it comes to capturing the Robbie Rotten vibe.
Robbie has come along way. Stefan himself admitted that this character was one that was developed over time. In other words Robbie has gone under a considerable amount of character development over the years. The modern Robbie is the one we all know and love. Robbie is a character in which we can immensely relate with and can very easily connect with. He's goofy he's sweet he's socially awkward and he's bit uncoordinated. He brings out the best in Sportacus. The modern Robbie is really not a villain at all. He's just a big softie. He has the sarcasm of an adult, the melodramatic moodiness of a teenager and the dress up flair of a small child. He has a pure spirit beneath all his villainous intent. Despite his grumblings and overall nasty behavior he's genuinely a beautiful person. Stefan was a beautiful individual. He put so much effort into this character. He deserves a round of applause. Stefan was truly a hero and he was a absolute prince.
Robbie is pretty much like Dr. Doof. He's a "villain", but he's not evil at all, he's just misunderstood and lacks love and attention. Glanni however, was a full blown dictator in the play, literally.
Remember the episode were Robbie disguises as a detective to investigate who stole the cake? Imagine an adaptation of this song of him accusing Sportacus. Or maybe on the Purple Panther episode, he could sing a version of this song while trying to find the crystal on the kids pockets, accusing someone at the same time distracting them. Only on the dreams now... 😭😭😭😭
I was thinking of a “fan made” episode that’s exactly like the musical where Robbie rotten disguised as richy rich and accuses trixie and Stephanie and all that and it’ll be like. 46 minute episode like that one episode with spehanie being the hero and such. And like gta would’ve been so cool and I’d love to see it. Sorry that this is very long btw lol
I think Swiped Sweets (the episode you are referring to) is actually inspired by or pays homage to the play. When Ziggy grabs the key off the tree, the celebratory music that plays is the ending song in the play! Him imprisoning Sportacus is a reference to him doing that to Halla (Trixie) and notice how she's actually absent from that episode. Pixel picks up one of Robbie's footprints, a refrence to Sollas footprint that the officer picks up. I'm a little sad that Robbie doesn't get a song like this, but I don't think it would have fit the tone of the show as well as it did in the play.
One of the best song from the play. Wish they would've incorporated it in Lazytown. Glanni/Rikki stole the show and it would've been cool to have seen Robbie sing this song
Actually, this song is pretty villainous. He's telling them all to pretend the bad stuff never happened, and to focus on the good things in life. Live like that, and it's really easy for people like "Richie Rich" to walk all OVER you! He's basically telling them to overlook his evil side and worship his "good" persona!
Aye, Stageshow Robbie is quite the villain. He steals the president's car before arriving at Lazy Town and lies about his identity in front of the whole town, including a police officer. Schemes to get everyone in town to buy his unhealthier, canned products instead of their own grown fruits and vegetables for the sake of laziness and handiness (standard practice in commercialism admittedly but dastardly nonetherless). Ruins the vegetable gardens the children were working hard on and blames Trixie for it since she's the only known troublemaker in town and she gets thrown to jail as well as establishes himself as the savior of the town with his instant made-up products with a catchy song. And when Sportacus returns to town and lifts the spirits of the citizens up and helps them to grow the garden again Robbie poisons the garden, making everyone sick. And frames Stephanie so she gets thrown in jail with Trixie. Then Robbie robs all the food products in the market, causing the citizens be fed up with the mayor and make Richie Rich the new mayor and he immediacy establishes new laws to enforce his appealing ideas of fun and laziness and exile the old mayor. Then Robbie fools the boys of Lazy Town into child labor-turned slavery/imprisonment to make his unhealthy falsely advertised healthy product. Locks Stephanie and Trixe in the sewers after they escape the jail cell. Tricks the postman to hand the papers himself the day the papers published the news of the president's stolen car with no one getting their news for one day. And who knows what else he could have gotten away with if Sportacus hadn't returned to Lazy Town and unrevealed Richie Rich's true nature as the dastardly criminal Robbie Rotten.
This song Reminds me of King Richard III for a few reasons "Rikki" translates to "Richard", the song is mainly about good deeds, and everyone bows to Rikki at the end.
Am I dreaming or the dance step that Glanni/Rikki do at 1:48 was remake and reused for the Bing Bang choreography ? You know, the part "get on up it's time to dance yeah !". Sure, it's a little less impressive here, but it's pretty much the same thing🤣

yeah if u hear robbie, u'll think the actor is a native american bc there is no accent, sportacus has tho
@@bascgloybtch1370 it also kinda of suits sportacus that he has an accent it makes him sound kind and innocent.
he got inspiration from the grinch

You can tell this actor is having a blast doing this role
Stefán actually spoke English way before this -he's a Shakesperean trained actor. That's why Robbie has a much less noticeable accent than Sportacus.
Magnus at least was able to speak English. Stefan on the other hand, made his voice for Robbie more American as time went on.
Raven Sutcliffe yea and Stefan also voiced the Icelandic dub Robbie too! I’m not sure about magnus though
Yeah, Stefán was awesome!
And such a gifted actor as well and fun fact, Stefan was the one of the only Lazytown actors to make public appearances at several theme parks and events around the world as Robbie.

He is more or less chaotic.
I love both characters with another part of my heart.
Robbie is over the top relatable and adorable to me, but Glanni is so _spicy_ 🔥
I wouldn't call Robbie socially akward, looks more like antisocial personality disorder paired with a bit of depression and that is surely not cute.
You know it's kind of creepy how he manages to get them to bow down to him at the end of the song.
Catcat Too bad they never appreciated Robbie for who he is in the show though.
probably because he sucks in the show
It is like glanni glaepur aka rikki
obbie
He was like a voodoo
he manages to turn the whole town into a commie/communist town and gaining the towns peoples trust in just 2 min what a man indeed
This was actually one of my favorites, for multiple reasons. The tune is super catchy as well.

i actually find Glanni/Robbie/Stéfan attractive what.is.happening
Morgan Animations what's wrong with that?
I'm 13 and he's like 40 something right now.
he's 40 something now but he's only like 20 something in this play i think

I find the actress who plays Stephanie very attractive.
I wish my language was built for singing in musicals. We'd almost always have to resort to english unless its a serious opera
