  • There are many options if you want to take an Amtrak train on the North East Corridor. The North East Corridor runs from Washington DC to New York and through to Boston. Considerations include price, ultimate destination, comfort and time.
Here we look at various considerations to help you choose between the options. We only consider daytime options.

Great to hear the options for the North East Corridor. Hope to get to try them all out when we can fly again from Sydney (Australia) to NYNY USA

Incidentally one thing to note is some long distance trains give you business class legroom at coach prices. I often go from Charlottesville, VA to New York and while the Northeast Regional is a little faster if I take the Crescent, New Orleans to New York, they have nicer seats in coach than the NER has in business class including nice leg rests. Check out Amfleet I vs Amfleet II to see the difference. This will be changing since the NER will be changing the nearly 50 year old Amfleet I with Siemens Venture Coaches in the next few years.

I didn't really elaborate on it, but what I called "standard Amtrak" is actually quite variable. I may make another video on that. Services like the Keystone, the Silver Star and Meteor and Palmetto vary quite a bit from the NER, and cover some of the same route.

Wonderful video, I have just been starting to take the trains here, and been enjoying them. I liked the attention to detail, super informative! Going to give the Acela to DC a try in May.

Very nice video. However, the slower trains are called the Regionals, not Northeaasters.

It would make sense to extend it to Charlotte, or even Atlanta.
