...sooo, these are the tunes of my soul. Painfuly honest, deep, elementary, beautiful, passionate, ancient, tribal, laconic, genetic, imperative, neon-blue, mystical, mind blowing, shivering, eternal, revelational, original, addictive, sublime, subconscious, tran(s)cendental, real, free...
They make me shiver under my skin - there are no words to describe them! ...the mentioned few adjectives only scratch the surface - "the depths below are silent" (cf. Attila József)..."Silent world" (cf. J. Cousteau)...and "whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent" (cf. L. Wittgenstein), I know, but... :)
In my heart all of them are at the 1st place. Maybe not all of them are the most recognized, but surely they made the biggest impact on me (until now). ...and there are so many more!! ...the first 10 songs. Why these? Maybe just the 1st place is fixed, and the other 9 are in "random" order?

P.S.: I know that there are numerous other trance top lists here on TH-cam, but the case is that none of them was satisfactory enough for me, and not only because of the selection of the trax (although my selection should be at least as subjective as those (but perhaps a bit less pop)). For instance, many of those top lists mix the tunes (e.g. 10 tunes) together in 10 minutes, so their essence is lost (not to speak of the quality of most of such mixes). Then many top lists use cuts (i.e. parts) of the original tunes, and not their full version. I try to solve these issues by using only standalone, full, original versions (in high quality).

...it had a huge impact on me too, when I first heard it on Tiesto's Club Life 043 (on 25/01/2008), just a day before my 30th birthday - yeah, it was a PRESENT!! :)))
Thanks! I'm glad you like it. It is a very special tune, I think. VDM has some pearls, but this one stands out (for me) somehow. It is so ambivalent (sad and happy; imprisoned and free - all at the same time). ...and the sounds express everything.

Thanks, CovalentNews, for this and for your other comment at No.10 also!! :D ...these tunes will live on for long - selected by natural selection, or who knows. ...but what is their secret? - one may ask. ;-) Why are they good or beautiful? ...or: what is "good" or "beauty" we are seeing/feeling/experiencing in them? ;) ...sparks - sparks they are.
It seems, that since this is a 2008 rework, others miss it too (including me and VDM and many others:) Trance is a fluctuating genre - I think there will be times, when it'll return or get closer again to the roots...
About half a year ago, maybe, VDM contacted me, and asked me to include some specific details in the description of the video (as you see now). So he is probably alright, but it would be of course better, if he would continue making such AMAZING MUSIC!!! :DDD

...about your remix: it is great! For an "amateur" attempt at least. I wrote a comment to it too. Now I just have 1 question: what kind of hw-sw equipment do you use (e.g. synths, Abletion, Fruity Loops, etc), and for what reason (just a hobby, or you are (trying to be) a professional DJ-producer)? :)
I think I can understand you... As I wrote before: beauty and sorrow mix in this tune. Thinking of a girl, I don't really know, or just can't exactly express, what it should/can mean. Maybe if you Love someone, and must leave her, or lose her? Somekind of a departure? ...or maybe something like that thing about Melpomene (the Greek goddes of Tragedy) that pinned me down in front of Her statue for hours in the Hermitage, St. Petersburg, when I was just 20? ;) ...long story.
Wow, thanks for the comment, it is really expressive! :) About that CD you recommend - I've heard it, and this tune (Sunflower Rework) is also on it, but in my opinion there are no more similar tunes on that CD, neither anywhere... This is a truly unique music. Ok, there are good, even great trance trax (classics, such as "Endless Wave" really by Tiesto) on that CD you mention, but they are different, they sound different! Which one(s) you think is similar to this? :)

I don't know about any Trancemaster compilation that would have only such quality music on it, but maybe you can try something else... I'd recommend you Tiesto's "In Search of Sunrise 6: Ibiza". ...a fantastic 2CD mix with music of similar quality (maybe the style is a bit different). Maybe not a "meatgrinder" (I mean not too powerful), but its still very good.

Oh, yeah, that was a 2 disc vinyl I mentioned before, and there is a 2 CD version too (of the album called "Moor"). Google the following:

...and yes, there is a track on CD2 called Sunflower (with the length of 06:55). So, I think it is the "Original Mix" of the tune. Do you agree?

Cactus, thanks 4 the comment! I think U're right, but (in my opinion) not completely. VDM is a Classic. The greatest DJ's play his songs even now (Fly Away, Flowtation, etc). I mean Tiesto, Armin, and all the other great names. So he is well recognized. But this song, yeah, it may be a bit underrated... Nonetheless I discovered it on Tiesto's Club Life 043. That speaks 4 itself, doesn't it? :) Still, it is not as popular, as it should be. It seems that True Value is not always "successful"... :(
Dear VincentDeMoorFan, are you sure of this? :-( ...I'll Google that up, maybe something surfaces about this. It would be a shame if VDM have stopped making music. He did it for sooo long, so many tunes. ...so all this sounds a bit impossible. He was born to do Trance! :) ...can you provide some info-source, maybe? ...who knows: maybe it is similar to what happened with Kai Tracid (who got fed up with the industry, and became a yoga master...but now fortunately he is close to returning again:))

What album do you mean, swanz? :) ...I've looked up Vincent's discography on discogs (search for the following keywords on Google: vincent moor discogs), but didn't find any "album version". There is the "Original Mix", then there is "VDM's 2008 Rework", and "Michael De Kooker's Classical Mix" (of which I know). ...maybe you mean the "Original Mix"?

Oh, yeah, that is a GREAT tune! I don't like vocal trance too much, but that 1 is really good! :) ...brings back memories (watch?v=v1BhwGP-aAs&fmt=18)... The vocal part reminds me the vocal part of "Smack my bitch up" from Prodigy (that vid is 1 of my favs, but it is censored here;)))... Some indian accent/flavor...
