    I watched the first video, then this one. I'm buying one! I will be grinding corn and oats for my old horses who can't chew any more. Senior horse feed is too expensive and contains too much wheat chaff and soy. Thank you SO much for helping me decide!

    To avoid grinding plate crashes, adjust the grind by inserting drill rod between the plates and tightening the plates against that, basically a feeler gauge. Side benefit is that it gives you a documentable standard for reproducing grind levels.

    I recommend a magnet near your output to catch any metal shavings

    That gasket made a huge difference. Milling is a dusty job but you shouldnt be loosing that much when you grind. Couple more sugar runs and ima pick that bad boy up. Thank you yet again brother.

    I was lucky enough that my neighbor had a 1907 Hobart 1/4 horse coffee grinder that is awesome that thing would grind a car up I use a 5gallin bucket screen over the top to mitigate the dust from the bucket

    Man! I'm excited! Just stumbled across your site. Bought a still a couple of years ago and it's still(see how I did that?)😂 in the box. Looks like with it. I think that's the grinder for me. Appreciate your help!

    I've got the same mill except mine came with a switch. Great mill. Imma going to do the RTV fix too. I'm also thinking about Fabing a curtain for the bucket to keep dust down too. Should be pretty easy

    So at my local brew shop they have their's in a cabinet with a door and you open the door to pull the bucket out with the your ground grains keeps all the dust contained

    Hydrotex in NC can help with food grade lubricants. Ask for Kelly Nash.

    I forgot, try an small diameter O-ring to make the seal. it can be bought in a rope style, cut to length and super glued together to make a custom o-ring. eliminates RTV and the mess.

    A few things;
    First, some quick googling showed that yo can actually use vaseline as a food-safe machine lubricant, provided that it doesn't get so hot that the vaseline melts. If you're really desperate, you can also use cooking oil, though I would imagine that would run even easier than the vaseline. Still, could be a good backup to know about if you ever run out of the good lubricant.
    Second, would you be willing to try running wet grains through the mill, or have you heard of other people doing so successfully? I'm interested in making nixtamal for food regularly. The victoria mill + electric drill seems like it'll be perfectly adequate for my needs for now, though if I ever want a proper electric setup it would be nice to know that these are an option. It'd be especially nice to know for if I see an opportunity for regularly selling homemade tamales or tortillas.

    Hey , Cyrus, I’ve been told you can use beeswax instead of green, but I don’t know

    Does the machine mill the grains like powder, so i can make flour for bread and baking or it just wondering for animals?

    • @StillnTheClear
      @StillnTheClear  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nonowaseem2727 I would not try to make a fine powder with this mill. I don't think it has precise enough adjustments to do that job with out grinding the metal plates together.
