The Story:
It was May of 2011... a few days after Lindsey Stirling and ThePianoGuys had each filmed their first official TH-cam videos ("Spontaneous Me" and "Michael Meets Mozart"). Lindsey and Steven Sharp Nelson (cello guy) shared the stage at a concert. After the show, they talked enthusiastically about a TH-cam collaboration down the road. A year and a half and a million fan requests later and it's finally here! We love Lindsey Stirling! It feels like we're family -- we started on TH-cam around the same time, we "grew up" in the same place, we all LOVE what we do and we're all REALLY good dancers...except for ThePianoGuys. =)
We chose the theme from "Mission: Impossible" because we thought it would be a great music video to "be ourselves" in -- to play off each other, throw in some special effects, a couple "stunts," and some slapstick! The concept for the song and video began with spy gadgets -- we wanted all of them to be string instrument parts! Then how would we pair up graceful, pro-dancer Lindsey and not-so-graceful Steve? =) It was simple. Steve had to carry around his own chair! Then the graceful/not-so-graceful thing contrasted beautifully! When Jon Schmidt (Piano Guy) was cast as the "villain" and donned an eye patch we knew we were on to something...(Read rest of the story here thepianoguys.com/pages/missio...)

Fun Fact: If you play or hum any version of the Mission Impossible theme in the background as you do literally anything technical, it makes the experience AMAZING. Discovered this while bread boarding, learning hardware electronics. It felt like I was diffusing a bomb.

Wow. I tried this and when I was in bed, I felt like I was strapped down having a life threatening surgery!
+Parker Dixon-Word Fun Fact: This does not work when actually defusing a bomb. I tried this while defusing C-4. Half of my house is now gone.
+Andrew Hsu - I guess it only works while _diffusing_ a bomb instead of _defusing_ one. Maybe because vaporizing it is much cooler than just snipping wires.
I love how they really emphasized the struggles of mobility for cellists. I feel your pain Steve. Cellos and pianos are both difficult to transport. I loved how Lindsey was dancing all over the place and Steve just had to sit there.
But that is one serious odd cello.
While the Cello is an awesome instrument, the Violin is the preferred choice of spies for its practicality and mobility.

2 Cellos are awesome, but they can't do anything like what Lindsey Stirling does in terms of acrobatics. Like what this video proves. Spies choose the violin over the cello because they don't need to cart around a chair every time they want to play a note. Plus the cello is just plain gigantic.

I seriously don't know how Lindsey can run/dance while playing, I tried and it sounded horrible
She never had the patience to stay still while learning to play the violin so her teacher couldn't help but allowing her to run and dance during the lesson. Thus, she learned to play while running and dancing, but I'm not sure if she's able to play at all when she's not moving at the same time. ;)
When I saw her live she danced whilst she played and it was amazing :') she is so talented!
Simran Singh if I am right, they really aren't playing while taking the video. they prerecord the music they make, then record a video of them doing the acting and put the music with the acting thus creating this video.
Andrew Lee You are kinda right, the audio that they use _is_ from a prerecorded session. However, Lindsey is so freakin' awesome that she can often dance while playing, even live.

You can but it's a problem when you have to move your upper hand and don't drop the cello. It's much easier if you can lean it against you.

This just reminded me of all the times when we decided to play outside. All my violinist friends would just casually walk out, and then there is my cellist friend that struggles to open the door, hold a chair, and not drop his cello.

@Jerica Henrichsen it's a type of substance that's powderized so the lasers have something to obtsruct that's all i know lol
@@trinchilla22 It's rosin, a type of resin for bows. It helps the bow catch on the strings so as to make noise. If you use too much of it, dust/powder residue from it goes everywhere.

I rewatched this and realized what it made me think of was the old British Avengers TV show - one of my favorites. The chemistry of the musicians here reminded me of the personalities, friendship and humor between Steed and Mrs Peel. Great job - still an awesome music video that is very enjoyable.
