The core is sheet metal. The heart of the transformer is the coil. It made of wire, paper, strip, and endstrips. Regulators coils also have PT coils and reactor coil along side a big regulator. A networt coil consist of 3 networt coils.
Chris Kudika heats are the primary cause of transformer failures. The transformer overheats then the oil reaches a boiling point, pressure build up then it exploded. What causes the overheating can be improper loading between secondary legs, secondary service short circuited, insulation breakdowns, foreign material inside the tank etc. Please check my video on the inner workings of single phase transformer th-cam.com/video/GkQJYvdNIi0/w-d-xo.html
the vertical section of core is called "legs' or "limbs", while the horizontal sections are called 'Yokes'. In other words core is made of two main components which are "legs" and "yokes"
Good video. I have question. We know cooling metod in tranformer ONAN, OFAF etc. My question is. Can I change metode cooling from ONAN oil natural Air natural, to OFAF oil force Air Force in cavacity 2500 kVA. ?
Yes you can, but you would need to install an electric pump to circulate the oil and fans to force air across the heat exchanger. Most AF transformers use a relay that turns the fans on when the oil becomes hot. AF transformers also can vary there kVA rating because as they remove heat, the rating increases.
We have a factory that requires 6 MVA electric power , Can we use one large transformer and limit the fault current with NGR? our transformer is 11/0.4 KV
Thank you for this valueble animated video. . I got many answer which i have the major doupt in the transformer. . . Also i clear what is inside the transformer. .
Looking at the size of the transformer in this video, it’s a distribution transformer. Those do not have any neutral. The casing is grounded just for safety reasons. At the end of the distribution network there is a transformer in star configuration. The center point of the star is the neutral which is usually connected to ground. Distribution transformers are connected in delta; the 3 phases then solely do the work without any neutral.
mekky ehab ahmed bushings acts as a dielectric for primary and secondary conductor from touching the body of the transformer, it also acts as a structural foundation since conductor wire is very flimsy.
Engineering World is there any incident that someone has been electrocuted while doing the line alignment or attaching the wires? because it is a live wire,am I right?
Nikhil Murarka depending on the network system, there are 3 primary bushing and 4 primary bushing transformers. In north america they uses three phase four wire system with multigrounded neutral. In asia and europe they use 3 phase 3 wire system
Is that the kind of transformer that looks like a bucket that's on street poles? My dad said there's just one fuse that makes a low loud noise when too much electricity goes through the power lines and he said it regulates the flow of it. One time I was outside during the start of a humid thunderstorm, and about 20-25 feet away stood a wooden street pole with a transformer at the top with power lines. Me and my brother were watching the winds and stuff cuz I wanted to and cuz I like thunderstorms and windy days, Then I heard a familiar low pitched electric sound that echoed through the street. The sound was so loud, it put vibrations in me and my brother from our shoes up to the end of our legs. I said "Woah, cool!!! What was that?!" So my brother said "I think it was the transformer up there" then he said "That was cool what if from that you could turn into the Flash when the lighting goes through your feet?" I giggled and said "I want it to happen again, but that's probably a rare occasion, especially to be so close to one when it does that." Or something like that
ǰąɲƹŁŁƹ ɦɨŁŁɨąřȡ - The transformer in this video is a distribution transformer, which is totally different from a pole transformer. What you heard might have been some high voltage arcing from the power lines to something else. A tree for example.
ǰąɲƹŁŁƹ ɦɨŁŁɨąřȡ - that was a single phase distribution transformer. Basically you can added up three of these pole mounted bucket transformers into so called bank configuration to make a three phase distribution transformers as in this video. Low pitch noise that u heard was a vibration sound from the transformer. It vibrates as 50-60Hz so it makes a very low pitched noise. The noise is generated from changing electromagnetic flux inside the transformer. If the transformer dead, it will no longer vibrates
b8e71fcbe2e195c67d8d16734013d20f no bud, that pole transformer is also distribution transformer. The noise was coming from changing electromagnetic flux inside the transformer
if the oil is not at the specified size. then the temperature of the transformers will rise while reducing the level of the insulator in the transformers
I thought the graphics looked good but the spelling, atrocious. 2:09. What is "LIFITING PAD"? And why not hire a professional narrator to walk us through this intriguing video with quality annunication?
Good video !
Btw what is the material with which the transformer core is made of?
The core is made using 'Cold-rolled grain-oriented steel'
what about transformer oil...??
serves as an insulator and cooler

hello i'm wondering ARE THE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY WINGDINGS INSULATED FROM EACH OTHER ?
Please explain how flux gets produced inspite of both LV, HV windings done on same limb
What kind of gasket is used im the tank?
Very nice beautiful ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️👍
Feels like _What's inside a transformer_ vs _working of the transformer_ has a very huge difference!!

When a transformer explodes which componrnts fail and what causes it?
Chris Kudika heats are the primary cause of transformer failures. The transformer overheats then the oil reaches a boiling point, pressure build up then it exploded.

its mineral oil and that is so there is no PCB issues when the transformer is scrapped
That's absolutely correct !
so the core is directly connected to yoke?
the vertical section of core is called "legs' or "limbs", while the horizontal sections are called 'Yokes'. In other words core is made of two main components which are "legs" and "yokes"

As long as you increase the cooling capacity it can be done but you need to install a dedicated fans, sensors and controller
What 3D modeling software program was used for the demonstration? Autodesk Inventor or ?
Very good video. question : Where is the insulating oil inside the tank?
There is insulating oil its just not shown in the video.
The oil submerges all components within the tank and is used to insulate and cool the transformer.

The job of bushing ??
mekky ehab ahmed bushings acts as a dielectric for primary and secondary conductor from touching the body of the transformer, it also acts as a structural foundation since conductor wire is very flimsy.
no audio
It's a self explanatory video but we would be glad to assist in case you need any assistance :)

Hey
why 4 primary brushes and 3 secondary brushes??
Nikhil Murarka
3 Primary and 4 secondary.
The 4th secondary connects to the core.
xxBlueSaintxx so the 4th one behaves as a neutral wire in a three phase connection?
Nikhil Murarka depending on the network system, there are 3 primary bushing and 4 primary bushing transformers. In north america they uses three phase four wire system with multigrounded neutral. In asia and europe they use 3 phase 3 wire system

Needs audio explanation.
No wonder the little tacima tranformer is heavy they way tone like iron
Y transformer needs oil?...
That's a very good question. Transformer oil is required inside to keep the temperature cool.
Ohh..
What happens if we not, maintain the temperature correctly?
Or
What happens when we didn't maintain correct oil level?
if the oil is not at the specified size. then the temperature of the transformers will rise while reducing the level of the insulator in the transformers
Yuvan Shankar the transformer will heats up. If the oil level is too low it will overheating and sometimes exploded
well that explained that alright
Hiii muskan
Thank u
