So I really loved A Court of Silver Flames a lot. However I completely agree with your thoughts on it!! Like the whole fitness side just was not realistic.. definitely felt like I had to push past quite a few things and ignore that they didn’t make sense. I am currently reading Crown of Midnight and have not yet read Crescent city so really just at the beginning of my Sarah J Mass obsession 😂 Thank you for the spoiler free videos!!
8:10 STOPP BAHAHAHAH because tell me why when i was reading the book i literally had to shut it and think for a few seconds like wdum ONLY 5 minutes hes literally the strongest general and amry man ever
Ah! Just finished ACOSF and I get what you are saying....however....I still loved it. I know. I do think that it will make more sense as the series continues and some of the other characters that were technically secondary in the first 3 books get their "moment in the sun". Hoping for ongoing character and relationship development for the 2 main characters in ACOSF as well.
I agree with your rankings so much! I get the stairs in ACOSF as a metaphor for her inner growth, like SJM seems to do in every book, but I could've survived without literally 400 of those pages. And I'm still mad about some character's choices in that book, it felt like it lost a lot of character development SJM built with the trilogy.
I just finished Silver Flames last week and I absolutely loved it but I’ve seen a lot of people having opposite feelings 💔🤣. I absolutely loved the main female trio/friend group, they had me bawling my eyes out.
I'm sooooo glad that I'm not the only one who has problems with silver flames.... everyone else i know loved it but it's definitely my least fave SJM book by a mile :(
SJM doesn't know the difference between a healing arc and a redemption arc. ACOSF would have been better received if it was marked as a healing arc, not a redemption arc.
@@RubyJeanReads no problem! You could also do it as a 2 part, what you personally want and what you think will happen. Cuz I think we’re getting acotar 5/6 news soon
I completely agree with everything you said about ACOSF. I was way more interested in what was going with a different character at the time and wish SJM would have given us more insight into it. Honestly, the main characters journey didn’t really have any appeal to me either. Honestly, I’m just glad I’m not the only one who didn’t love the book!
SPOILERS‼️‼️‼️ Careful if you haven’t read ACOSF. . . . . . . . . . . . . I don’t think nesta and cassian make total sense. Like yeah is the sunshine/ grumpy but they saying they loved each other since the beginning it’s just … I don’t see it. Ngl I would’ve liked her to be with eris but it was more of my love for the evil guys. I did cry a lot with the book but I still don’t fully get along with nesta, I’m a feyre girl all the way
@@RubyJeanReads I get that. It's for sure not typical Maas-verse stuff but that's kind of why I loved it. Full disclosure though that was the very first Maas book I ever read so I had no reference at the time but I stand by it. I was ranting about how good it was then started acotar then just happened to be in my library and looked up and... WAIT A MINUTE SHE WROTE THAT! 😂😂
I don't like ACOFAS at all and ACOSF - Stairs for me were like... you walk down stairs that's the easier part, how you can get back? absolut nonsence. Like, are you backpacking there and go back next day or what?! Still idn't like main charakter even after explaining they behavior - for me it was just excuses. Good spice - sometimes inconceivably, but there are better books for it. I'm re-reading ACOTAR 2nd times but I funished ACOWAR and I'll move to other series, don't want to finish this one :D
@@RubyJeanReads yes, but still from that whole series it's middle book in my rating FAS is the worst and ACOTAR second worst :D... first 3/4 were really paingul to get through 🤣😅
stumbled upon this video right after i finished acowar and was SO READY to disagree with you on silver flames BUT im currently on my slowest read with acosf 🥲 hence why i deliberately searched for this vid so i could rant. HONESTLY even if i could overlook the physical training weirdness, i hoped that a big chunk of nesta's healing journey could happen off the page. unless it was meant to be a 4D experience for us readers to be LITERALLY in feyre's pov bcos I AM AS FRUSTRATED AS SHE WAS
The STAIRS!! You’re telling me her legs gave out walking down but by some miracle she was able to walk back up all those same stairs??
RIGHT!? THANK YOU 🤣🤣🤣
This video is great, Im so madly in love with the hole Acotar series and now I am going to start TOG, wish me luck ;), Im so ready.
Goodluck!!! TOG is so good 🩵

I would give anything to be in your shoes and be reading throne of glass for the first time again 🤩
Could you please do a spoiler tier ranking - spill the tea ☕️ ❤
Great idea!
Yes!!!! The stairs!!!! And then the plank issue. However one person made the entire book! I wish they were real.
SJM is soooo talented this is true 🤣 I wish we could get a theme park 🤩
8:10 STOPP BAHAHAHAH because tell me why when i was reading the book i literally had to shut it and think for a few seconds like wdum ONLY 5 minutes hes literally the strongest general and amry man ever
Right!? Thank you!!!! It totally just takes you out of the story whenever something like that happens… 🫣
I really enjoyed your review. While I don’t completely agree with you ( but mostly I do) but you are so respectful. Thank you for your opinion.
Thank you! This means a lot because I NEVER want to make anyone feel bad or shamed for loving/hating something I don’t!
Thx so much, I’m currently on the ACOTAR series, and have been thinking about starting ToG later, this definitely motivated me to.❤
It’s so worth it!!! Might be my favorite series!

This was fun! Thanks Ruby! 😊
I’m glad you enjoyed it! 🫶🏼

Yes! As much as I didn’t like her “redemption arc” in this book I’m hoping to see her grow into a good sister and mate in the future books 🥰
Wait she deleted and started again on CC3? OMG that's nuts
Right!? She mentioned it in an interview and my jaw was on the FLOOR

You nailed it there! Lots of lost character development 😭

I do love the two friends! I hope we get to know them better in future books!
Does the FMC get any better in this book?
@@Smallvillefau I always liked Nesta so I’m definitely biased but I loved her story & journey, it was very satisfying for me.
I'm sooooo glad that I'm not the only one who has problems with silver flames.... everyone else i know loved it but it's definitely my least fave SJM book by a mile :(
I agree! I am hopefully for the direction of Nesta’s story, but silver flames was NOT it for me
SJM doesn't know the difference between a healing arc and a redemption arc. ACOSF would have been better received if it was marked as a healing arc, not a redemption arc.
I agree! I do hope the ACOSF FMC does get her redemption arc in the new ACITAR book whenever it comes out!
Can you do a video on potential predictions for the next acotar book? With spoilers needed of course
I love this idea!!!! Thank you 🫶🏼

Yes! I totally agree
I'm glad I read a court of silver flames, but I feel no desire to read it again. When I re-read the series i just read the first 3 books.
YES I think that’s how I’ll do it for my third re-read
I feel the SAME exact way about ACOSF. Couldn't stand this book and I enjoyed the first 3 books a lot.

Thank you!! I never saw it either… (also, thank you SO MUCH for the spoiler warning in your comment! It means a lot to me 💖)
how very dare you say the ones that matter! Catwoman was fantastic. But i also applaud you for dumping silver flames because I also hated it.
LOL sorry to offend 🤣 eventually I will have to back up my words and read it…. But I’m SO SCARED because I’ve heard so many negative reviews 🫣

I agree! I think it would have been much more impactful and believable if we got to see her change through the eyes of someone she had wronged.
YES and the fact that it happens even in the last 100 pgs made me mad honestly i was THIS close to throwing the book
Hahahaha throwing it might be therapeutic but the brick-of-a-book might put a whole in the wall 🫢
