Talk about the middle of nowhere! What a treasure hunter you are! The old Raynor courthouse is a true "find" and how wonderful that we know of it due to your travels. Can't wait for part 2! I laughed out loud at the end - "Too many cars!" Really? Bet that doesn't happen often in that neck of the woods!
Note to self: Keep an eye on Coach Wise as he is now speaking to cattle deep in Texas. The Texas sun might be making him delirious so encourage him to keep his head covered. Now that I think about it, he would be a ruggedly handsome man if he wore a cowboy hat! 🤠
Not kidding, you make 10 to 15 minutes of time vanish... while you hit us with pertinent info, facts and figures. Nice video from the sky as well. Be good, be safe !!
I shared to Facebook and my friend Sonia. She and her family lived in the old courthouse. Hoping she will see it and give you more information on it. Great video!
Good to see you back in the Heartland, out wandering John. The Rayner Courthouse was a nice bonus, and a reward for us viewers, who greatly enjoy your extra efforts! Thanks for sharing!
Ready and waiting for the video to drop today! Not very often in that position. So much history there, but oh so hidden from view. So good you dug it out so that is preserved and available for others to see. Imagine living in that old county courthouse! What a shame that was built for only a few years use, then just abandoned as the town moved away. Loved the view of the old county line dirt road. I grew up just a quarter mile from another county line dirt road. Wonderful and quiet place for a youngster to ride a bicycle. Put many miles on my bike riding that old hard dirt surface! Ready for part #2!
Loads of great info, 10/10 for persistence with Rayner court house, it looks as if someone is living there, which is not a bad thing as it keeps the old place going. I really enjoyed that John, thank you.... looking forward to No.2
Interesting. A town in Oklahoma named Kiel, again with German settlers, changed their name to Loyal for the same reason. Wouldn't doubt there are others. Thanks
Your ability to search for and find these hidden gems such as Rayner Courthouse is amazing. Your trips are so entertaining and educational, I am so happy you have your channel and that I found it. Can’t wait for part 2.
I grew up in Aspermont and would go to the old Courthouse after it was converted to a house. The family had awesome Halloween parties! Also, the house in Giant was inspired by that courthouse after location scouts visited it.
Such a nice sunny day there as I watch on this rainy, dreary day in Oklahoma. Always good to see wide open spaces, you can imagine how it was in days gone by. Cemeteries tell of those that lived, dyed, and were left behind as time marched on. Always enjoy your videos dear, thank you for the effort it takes to create them. Stay safe and GOD bless
Interesting story about New Brandenburg > Old Glory - I recently saw something about the British Royal Family changing their name from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor due to anti-German sentiment around the same time - had no idea actual towns might be doing the same thing. Am now sitting here imagining what the inside of that old courthouse must look like. Thank you for yet another edifying video, these never disappoint!
Absolutely fascinating. I'm thinking of all the people who passed through this area and what their lives were like at that time. The cows were friendly 😂
If you're ever out in Nye County NV, the 2nd courthouse is in Belmont. It's still intact, and as a state park, to my understanding there is an occasional docent led tour. As always...
Hooker Texas huh how funny is that. Love that flag on in building in old glory. Always so much history in the small towns. I bet court house has some stories. Love the video as always you find the best places. Be safe
Old Glory in Stonewall County is very ironic given that most pre-Civil War German immigrants regardless of where they settled were staunchly anti-slavery due to most them having immigrated to escape the suppression by the German armies at the time, and saw slavery as the same oppression; so many German immigrants in Texas and other slave states went and fought for the Union. Then to have post-Civil War German immigrants have to change the German name of their town to something super U.S. patriotic in order to escape anti-German sentiment in a county named after a general who was a traitor to the U.S. who fought their predecessors to maintain slavery is just triple ironic.
@@TravelwithaWiseguy I get the chance I’m driving up there to mailing myself a letter to get a Old Glory post office stamp on my Old Glory postage stamp!
Stonewall was general but then so was Hooker. His female camp followers picked up their nick name from him. I'll bet that steer was happy to see you John, glad you gave him back a howdy when he called out

I agree the courthouse was the star of this one! I swear a car passed by about every 20 seconds and I could never have long enough to do the intro 😂

😂😂😂 aww shucks. I grew up on a farm but never bought boots or a cowboy hat 😊

That’s awesome! How unique that would be!
Whoa!! That courthouse is amazing!!!
Agreed!!
I wonder if they were from Berlin. I saw the Brandenburg gate from the east when the wall was still up and from the west from the unified Germany.

Thank you! Yes the courthouse was the star of this video!!

Yes that courthouse was pretty amazing sitting out there in the field! Love the old dirt roads - I grew up near a county line as well 😊
@@TravelwithaWiseguy Some called one dirt road near my house "Maternity Lane". Wonder why?

Thanks for sharing your adventure with us. Interesting history. Looking forward to part 2.

Part one was interesting, can't wait for part two. Have a great day
Thanks! You too!
Love these videos Coach Wise! All you need now is a motorcycle to take with you on these adventures 👀
Haha yes! Are you offering your videography skills? 😂😂
The abandoned courthouse is a old tartarian or old world structure, they're scattered everywhere

Some really interesting towns and cemeteries. Thanks so much for sharing.
You bet! It was fun!
One of my favorite parts of your videos is how you use an actual map and highlight your route.
Thank you 😊
Another Cool production ❤

Wow great finds in this video. Incredible courthouse
Yes it was! Highlight of the day for me!

It’s rainy here in Wichita too. Thank goodness for Texas haha. I appreciate you watching - stay dry!

Yeah I found that interesting too. The courthouse was amazing to see out there in the wide open. ❤️
Love these places! All of these out of the way areas which may no longer even exist are interesting. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to part 2.
I agree! Such an interesting history out there!

My Mom was born in Peacock. Been a few times and a few family members were atill there but I think it's about gone now.
Great job, John. Loved the courthouse fly-over.
Many thanks! That was my favorite part too 😊

Would love to see that!
I liked the courthouse in the cow yards.
It was very cool!
A gravel road !! Reminds me of South Dakota
Hey Coach.Good drone @ 9:25.Safe travels.
Thanks 👍 cool area to explore!
It makes me want to cry when I hear about towns trying to make it and just become abandoned. ):
😢
Ended on a cliffhanger 🫣
Haha! 😂
COOLEST COURTHOUSE EVER!!!
😊
I would loved to see in side of the old court house..
