    Thank you so much for the video. I am looking to buy a new sewing machine and never expected it to be so difficult with all the machines on the market.

    This video is so useful for day one beginners like me - I probably would have given up at trying to pull up the bobbin thread if it hadn't been for!

      Bought the Janome 625e as it’s not electronic. I don’t need a lot of fancy stitches and I’m happy with 25 that the 625e has. Haven’t used it yet perhaps tonight?

    Thanks - super helpful. You say it is a beginner machine. What additional features would a machine for a more advanced sewist have?

    • @aminacrafts8158
      @aminacrafts8158 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think for beginners it means "easy to use" because remember, professional seamstress often have dedicated straight stitch only industrial machines. This machine has more stitches than that :p as such even a more advanced sewist would likely find this quite adequate and capable for garments and small quilts.

      Thanks for the compliment!
      The next step up is generally computerised. You select stitches / stitch width / stitch length electronically rather than through a dial. Then you can have features such as slide speed controllers to limit your maximum sewing speed, electronic thread cutters, needle up / down control to control what position the needle is in when you stop sewing and automatic tie off stitches. These machines also generally have a wider range of utility and decorative stitches.
      Move even further up the range and you can have programmable alphabets so you can stitch out monograms, automatic thread tension control, LCD touch screens, wider sewing space for larger projects. Maximum stitch width generally increases to ~9mm too. Some machines can even sew sideways!

    Thank you so much for the information. Can this machine saw on jean and thicker material ? I am trying to compare between this and Singer 4423. Please help :)

    Is there a video like this for the Janome 525S (older Great British Sewing Bee model)?

    I’m so torn between 725 and 423 and I wish I could get some good advice. Some folk say top loader is more reliable and others say side loader gives better stitching…. Help?!
    Also I think I want sturdy so is 423 better because of full metal body? I’m used to vertical thread holder. Helpppppppp 😅

    • @SewEssential
      @SewEssential  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A top loader is much, much better and easier to use, which is why front loaders have nearly been phased out, both machines are nice and sturdy and you will easily adapt to a horizontal thread holder. If you drop me an email to sales@sewessential.co.uk I will very happily do a diagnostic with you to help match you to your dream machine.

      @@rosepaul9681 me too I think it was wonderful and I also liked the reference she made to the computerized machines. I’m looking at a couple of Pfaff computerized but this one reminds me of my old Pfaff that just went motor seized I bought it new in 1974 so it lasted me a very long time
