  • Former Catholic priest and wartime padre Thomas Nangle, who served in the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, is credited with getting Newfoundland’s National War Memorial finished on July 1, 1924. But little was known about why he up and left his home - until now. The CBC’s Terry Roberts has the story about how the discovery of a decades-old letter from Nangle himself sheds light on his motivation.
