When the first trials of MRNA vaccines were done, the drug companies said they weren't checking to see if it prevented transmission. Given this, there was never any reason to believe that it would and thus never any justification for mandates.
I don't think Pfizer actually admitted that until 2022. Many people, including politicians, believed that the jab stopped the spread. There were people saying that if everyone took the jab, the virus would disappear.
You are absolutely correct. They intentionally designed the trials to omit testing for transmission because they knew ahead of time that the vaccines would fail in that regard. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9941884/ "Immunity from neutralizing antibodies generated by existing vaccines is relatively short-lived and does not confer sterilizing immunity, which allows for ongoing transmission. Furthermore, SARS-CoV-2 has continued to circulate and evolve, resulting in SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern that can evade immune protection from infection or vaccination."

My eldest sister is a so-called "highly educated medical profesional". She has worked for years as a sort of go-between with Big Pharm and government agencies such as the FDA, essentially reviewing medical trials on new drugs and getting FDA approval (or, presumably, advising against approval). She has done rather well for herself in this career, owning two million dollar homes - one for the warm months in a wealthy suburb north of Chicago, the other in Arizona where she hides during winter. And no one i know (and I do mean NO ONE) fell harder for every single sliver of the official narrative. Whether this arose from sincere belief in that narrative, or just plain parroting of the BS, I simply cannot know. But what I do know is that there is no longer any excuse for a "highly educated medical profesional" to still be defending the official narrative from 4 years ago.... yet that is exactly what my sister is doing! Why is COVID still running wild? It's because people like me didn't get the jab! According to her, it is a "civic duty". A little over a year ago, she wrote the following in a group text conversation... "Just walked through the airport in Chicago. It is so disappointing to see only about 1 in 20 wearing masks!" My eyes rolled so hard they very nearly popped out of my skull. Just the other day in another group text message between Her, myself and four other siblings (four other siblings who took her advice, got the jabs and are now regretting that decision) she was urging everyone to stay up-to-date on their vaccinations. I ask a series of very simple questions concerning the jabs... questions a so-called "highly educated medical professional" ought to be able to shed some light on..... things like.... - Why did Pfizer ask a federal court to allow them 65 years before releasing all the raw data from the clinical trial? - How is it possible to judge the long-term risk vs benefit profile for a new intervention if the clinical trial participants are unblinded after two short months? - Given that healthy children are at essentially zero risk from a COVID infection, why has the FDA approved and encourage their use in children as young as 6 months old? And she answered not a single one in a direct way. Instead her answer sounded like it could have been penned by Pfizer's legal department. It has been a strange experience over the last 4 years. No one's intellect and integrity did I hold in higher respect and regard than my eldest sister, and now there is no one I hold in such outright disappointment and disregard. And she knows it, and acts as though the problem is with me and my lack of understanding.

But only when he was done with his hands being tied. And I'm grateful for that. Doctors should NOT let government dictate treatment. Especially when it works. The only thing it did was sweeten the pot with money. And that kept many mouths shut or lose license, like some did early on. They were called quacks and discredited. I saw articles on the very Doctor that tried to do so early on. And every single one was blacklisted and slandered. So instead of standing up as one entire group, the rest went along with it. They cowered and took the incentives to make protocols that killed instead. So they could pass more government laws and scare people into submission. Some of them enjoyed that power. What a mess. I was shocked at what they fenced off, for regular urban parents/children. “There’s no reason to be walking around with a mask. When you’re in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better and it might even block a droplet, but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. And, often, there are unintended consequences - people keep fiddling with the mask and they keep touching their face.” - Dr. Anthony Fauci
Masks may not be perfect, but they do reduce the viral load you're exposed to, same as the N95's reduce the sawdust & volatile substance droplets you might be exposed to spraying pesticides. True that fiddling with the mask doesn't help, & people needed to learn that, but still something is better than nothing imo. I think Fauci made that statement during the mad mask rush & masks were scarce, & tptb wanted to conserve them for healthcare. Masks are much less invasive than the fast-tracked alternative.
I was rehired as a paramedic in Toronto, and got suspended for not wearing a mask and asking for what science the policy was based on. My union rep told me "If management has a policy stating you have to wear a helicopter beanie hat, you have to wear it". The service fired me for some BS reason cause I pointed out too many errors and asked uncomfortable questions.
Dr. Prasad was all for the shots when they came out. But to his credit, he has now analyzed the shots and their inherent major problems especially for young people. Thus, I give him an enormous amount of respect, he will adjust his position based on facts. Sadly, we need many more Dr. Prasad's in the world instead of those who are trying to still justify their faulty and harmful positions.
That is exactly what happened. The AAP ( American Academy of Pediatrics), in summer of 2020 was recommending that kids return to school in the fall- but after push back from the teachers'union- they reversed their recommendation.
The snarky “There’s a better role for you…in public health” at the end had me dying! Thank you Dr. Prasad for being a continued voice of science, logic, and reason through these troubling times.
It’s good to see the discussion occurring albeit very delayed. Vit D is an immune booster. While I agree it’s no use to start taking it once you’re sick, it should be part of health ensure optimal levels.
Yep, it is essential for regular immune function and for UK citizens it's common to be deficient in the Vital Mineral that is, big D. It takes around two weeks to be converted into active form in the body so, attempting to raise it during the period where apparent disease/ailments are being experienced is quite late. One option there for treatment of severe deficiency would be administering active form intravenously. Check with your local GP/Physician on medical advice and to test for sufficient levels of essential vitamins and minerals your body necessitates for regular function.
I came looking for this comment. Prevention worth more than a quick cure. Raise immunity before exposure. I work with the public and I don't even get the flu.
There is no dissent allowed during a mass formation. After the fact, everyone realizes that the medieval witch hunts were insane, but during the witch hunts, the believers couldn't be convinced that witchcraft was nonsense. As for school closures, it wasn't about the kids, it was about the teachers' union.
School closings--at least here in the US, you have to remember that the politically powerful teachers union was vehemently opposed to opening schools. Politics and ignorance triumphed over science.
I agree with most of what you say Dr Prasad, but I was surprised to hear you refer to The Lancet as a reliable source…Have you seen the new documentary film, “First Do No Pharm”? Among other things, it covers the corporate capture of the most prestigious medical journals.
Lol. I love your videos. Straight to the point and you don't hold back. I was a health science university college teacher in Sydney Australia (nowhere near your level of knowledge or expertise) and during the COVID19 fiasco I kept shaking my head and saying their response was not right. None of my colleagues agreed and many of them had PhDs (I only have a Masters). Too many educated idiots in my opinion. It's a welcome relief to see not all high ranking academics lack common sense. I appreciate your work, and the information that you voice.
I'm assuming he means don't take zinc as a therapeutic. It plays an important role in building a strong immune system though, so you don't want to be deficient.
It's very charitable to say "he viewed...[the precautionary principle] differently". The precautionary principle is quite clear. It says that absent compelling evidence, interventions should be avoided, including interventions like school closures.
10:36 I'm going to keep pointing this out until a Vinay recognizes this basic fact about long covid or long anything and the claim that it's "psychosomatic": A chronic nutrient deficiency (such as Mg deficiency) will cause anxiety and depression, be more likely in certain populations (ie women), worsen when recovering from an illness (any illness, covid or otherwise) and exhibit all the signs of "long covid". Mg deficiency, for example, explains the reality of the long covid phenomenon far better than "psychosomatic" does.
My son was 15 when schools closed during COVID-19. Remote learning went into effect. Oh my, did that affect him until today. He is now in his second year in college - at a state school, which is not where he wanted to go. He didn't get into the top schools in the country, mainly because he didn't get stellar grades. His high school failed him miserably. I did my best with the high school administration to help my son because remote learning simply wasn't working for him. Instead, they applied a uniform approach which didn't take into account of the individual needs of each student. My son is still very motivated but he is a different person now. He hardly shows emotions. He wants to never work from home - absolutely hates the whole virtual work and hybrid model. 2020 absolutely sucked for my son. I haven't hugged my son since then. He refuses to touch anyone. I hope he finds himself one day. There's only one thing he is looking for now - to belong.
Thank you for sharing this. I have wondered many times how people your son's age have been affected. I hope he can make something positive out of his experience at some point in the future.
My that is so sad. It seems a profound loss of joy and gain of fear and complacency, having little hope. I hope that a greater depth begins to bloom for him soon and that he can see the things for which he has to be thankful .
Omg the uniform policy seriously its such a half-ass slap in the face of a solution. To me it’s just such a little thing in comparison to larger reasons kids struggled. My daughter’s school also did this as well as freeze grades for the first 3 months. Could go up but not down. Really just delayed the inevitable as the kids still didn’t know how to manage online school and there wasn’t any help teaching them that.

However, how many people have seen the video of Mandy Cohen, currently the director of the CDC, pretty much showing the same arrogance and lack of concern for the people she was tasked with overseeing for the lockdowns. I will never, ever, trust any gov't agency again. This woman should be fired. With her lack of ethics she isn't qualified to be in charge of fish, in a fishbowl.

Love what you do Dr. Prasad, but I think you have a blind spot when it comes to supplementation. I’ve found Zinc to be as close to a magic bullet as one can get, if taken early enough at the onset of cold sx. If you did the same, and then benefitted from a week of not feeling like crap, what will you do at the next onset of cold sx? Decline the zinc because of the RCT’s? Or trust in your personal experience and what your body’s telling you?
I watched you on the Stanford debates, and cheered 'that's my favourite doctor.' Finally, an intelligent discussion, rather than a politician on the mike demanding 'get vaccinated.' Or absolutely illegal mandates.
Yes, he's interesting to listen to but he is still in traditional doctor mode. He has stressed the importance of RCTs for treatments but given how most research is funded that is increasingly questionable. A number of doctors around the world had various treatment protocols which were effective. Some doctors treated thousands of patients with little or no deaths or even hospitalisations.

I do not know one who is moving to California except the illegal migrants, which has been a problem for taxpayers there since at least ths 1980s, when Calif. was told they had to provide health care and schooling to them with no Federal help. Hence Calif. having some of the worst public schools in the Country while also having the best economy (until Newsom).

I fully agree with you on almost all the points you mentioned. I only dare to disagree on the subject of vitamin D, as there are indeed meaningful studies on this subject. Among other things, those who have been working on this topic for a long time were very quick to ascertain the Vit. D status of seriously ill and/or deceased infected people after the first scaremongering reports about the supposedly deadly new C virus. As far as I know, all of them had a significantly low vitamin D level. Vit. D deficiency is widespread, especially in people who hardly ever get out in the sun, and is exacerbated if they live in areas where the sunlight does not have the necessary intensity all year round to guarantee the body's own Vit. D production, hardly ever exposing bare skin or uncreamed skin to the sun. As Vit. D plays a major role in our organisms, especially when it comes to the functioning of our immune system, I am very surprised that you do not seem to have studied the many aspects of this topic in detail. It is definitely a building block with enormous potential if you realize that today's lifestyle implies a deficiency and that this deficiency can manifest itself in many different ways - be it autoimmune diseases, chronic fatigue, increased susceptibility to infections, diabetes, etc. I think it would be fatal to ignore this component...
Why is it that Zero hospital administrators got punished for not having a 3 month supply of masks etc for their staff on hand for emergencies and pandemics?

The reliance on credentialed "experts" during the pandemic was infuriating to me. As a software developer, I wouldn't have much of a career if experts in my field were good at their jobs. I think the lack of emphasis on critical thinking is probably pervasive in more fields than just public health and medicine; it's likely ubiquitous throughout society.
I take objection to other doctors called "not being scholarly" just because they haven't done any original research work. They have a lay person audiences and reviews of other scholarly work is an important scholarly activity. I also wouldn't brag about "top journal" publications because they are too politically censored. They have become untrustworthy to be the best sources of research any longer. I would argue that true scholarship lies in preprints and reviews of preprinted (eg. pre censored) research. That is a better use of all our attention. When preprints get corrected for errors in methods thats one thing but when they get rejected for boring or controversial or politically incorrect results, thats another and not ok. It's also not ok when published papers get withdrawn for political reasons like the tens or hundreds of viral studies from chinese scholars published in journals like the Lancet had done by march 2020. Keep thinking of the big picture which was POLITICAL INTERFERENCE and not just "stupidity " and you'll find a healthier perspective.
Your comments about people in public heath is spot on. Early in the pandemic I mused to others why we took people in the backwaters of medicine and made them the decision makers. It made zero sense. It’s like making a mid-level engineer in a large firm CEO overnight, just because she has expertise on an important component of a new product. Sure, be an advisor, but here is a whole lot more to running a company, especially a large one.
Always appreciate your commentary. Please keep it up! We need your voice! We may differ on vitamin cocktail applications however. As someone with who has gone through the nutrition/ dietetics program I have been in the nutrition data for a long time. I agree most of the randomized trails have not revealed much but most of what has been evaluated have been ridiculously conservative doses. I have anecdotally seen amazing results at higher more aggressive dosages. I concede that it is not evidenced based and in the literature, but I am not so easy to dismiss it's efficacy in higher doses.
As a Northern Californian, I am so glad you are on top of everything happening in our state. It is past time for the house of medicine to conduct a root cause analysis of our failures during the pandemic. We lost so much credibility with the public because we allowed our voices to be silenced. As a physician dealing with the laboratory response, it was infuriating to watch as thought leaders were censored. The scientific method is predicated on challenging results, methods and conclusions. The “follow the science” mantra was mostly parroted by those unburdened by deep intellect. It was refreshing to have voices like yours and ZDogg’s during those challenging days. Sir, I have heard you comment derogatorily on supplements a couple of times before ( I don't mean as it pertains to covid, or for those who take supplements temporarily once they are already sick). A few years ago, my doctor did some blood tests on me (never mind the reasons for the tests for now) and the tests indicated that I was low in vitamin D, zinc and magnesium. I started taking all 3 of those supplements and my levels went up for all 3. Are you saying that even though my levels went up, there is no evidence that it makes any difference to my health? If there is currently insufficient evidence of supplements making any difference to our health, does that mean it isn't helping us be healthier? Are more studies needed or is there enough studies now to prove that all supplementation is useless despite blood tests showing a rise in deficient levels of whatever supplement a person is taking? Please clarify so that many of us are more informed and perhaps we can stop wasting our money. Finally, what do you recommend as alternatives for those of us who tested low on something and are told to, or just decide for ourselves to take supplements? I apologize for being so long winded and I hope my questions are clear. Thank you very much! Respectfully, Rick B.
No. I think he meant it wasn't shown to have improved immunity for those who have normal levels. Problem is, a huge amount of people have vitamin D deficiency and are unaware.
Simply showing a difference in the level of those items in your blood doesn't prove a difference in your health by themselves. There would have to be other indicators to show that you had health problems that had improved.
@@johnnemeth6913 Thank you for the comment. I assume your point is part of what he is saying. When the first trials of MRNA vaccines were done, the drug companies said they weren't checking to see if it prevented transmission. Given this, there was never any reason to believe that it would and thus never any justification for mandates.
Bingo
I don't think Pfizer actually admitted that until 2022. Many people, including politicians, believed that the jab stopped the spread. There were people saying that if everyone took the jab, the virus would disappear.
Succinctly said.
You are absolutely correct. They intentionally designed the trials to omit testing for transmission because they knew ahead of time that the vaccines would fail in that regard.

"Immunity from neutralizing antibodies generated by existing vaccines is relatively short-lived and does not confer sterilizing immunity, which allows for ongoing transmission. Zero debates? Now ZERO trust ... in so many so-called experts and authorities. ZERO

“There’s no reason to be walking around with a mask. When you’re in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better and it might even block a droplet, but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. And, often, there are unintended consequences - people keep fiddling with the mask and they keep touching their face.”

And yet, as an unva'xxed person in health care, my employer makes me start wearing a mask on a magical day in November. It's in the Medicare rules.
I saw a video where Fauci was fiddling with his mask.
I was rehired as a paramedic in Toronto, and got suspended for not wearing a mask and asking for what science the policy was based on. It’s good to see the discussion occurring albeit very delayed. Vit D is an immune booster. While I agree it’s no use to start taking it once you’re sick, it should be part of health ensure optimal levels.
Vitamin D is important
Yep, it is essential for regular immune function and for UK citizens it's common to be deficient in the Vital Mineral that is, big D. It takes around two weeks to be converted into active form in the body so, attempting to raise it during the period where apparent disease/ailments are being experienced is quite late. One option there for treatment of severe deficiency would be administering active form intravenously. Check with your local GP/Physician on medical advice and to test for sufficient levels of essential vitamins and minerals your body necessitates for regular function.

His high school failed him miserably. I did my best with the high school administration to help my son because remote learning simply wasn't working for him.

@erichred2858 IT and 'working' in the same sentence us hilarious... the most cushy and remote working capability profession ever! and you've proven my point exactly! Medical professionals can't do that, it's all hands on deck! live and death!

If they are going to reintroduce masking in my hospital this winter (Switzerland), I'm just going to ignore it. Worst they can do is fire me, but it would be more annoying for them than for me...
_>"Paxlovid doesn't do sheet for..."_
O, but it does, mon amie! It does the one thing that the whole "event" was about, and all that matters: *INCREASING BANK ACCOUNT BALANCES!* 🤑
And laying down a future control grid. Which, ok, will probably increase bank account balances.
C'mon Vanay, don't sugar coat it, tell us how you really feel 🤣😂🤣
Spot on as usual sir!
Saw a [human] today driving alone with a mask on. 😂
I saw that all the time and never understood how someone could possibly be so stupid and still operate machinery.
Its probably some kind of S&M fetish.
😂 smh
I have done it before during Covid restrictions but it was because I forgot to take off my mask after visiting a store that mandated masks. It’s possible the person just forgot to take off their mask.
@@wiggly103 It’s possible, but a ton of people just came out of their houses with the mask already on and got in their cars, as if that would make any difference other than being an annoying, uncomfortable hinderance.
Someone on a podcast yesterday pointed out that there is a hierarchy among doctors that starts with government advice so they don't question anything.
Great video Vinay, always calling out the fools and lunatics !
When you are wrong 100%..10/10.. it's no longer a "mistake".
Are we still CONSPIRACY THEORISTS? IDIOTS or CORRUPT? Lets get real.......
LOL, we knew the ages too.
People just refused to think.
If that shit comes back to SF county, I'm done here.
I'm done period. How can some policies just now in 2024 be lifted?!?!?
I live in Santa Clara county. The stupidest policy ever
What is your take on Dr. Sabine Hazan's work on microbiome and Covid, Thanks
You get that they were the mediocre minds most willing to sell out to get ahead, right?
Always appreciate your commentary. Please keep it up! We need your voice! We may differ on vitamin cocktail applications however. As someone with who has gone through the nutrition/ dietetics program I have been in the nutrition data for a long time. I agree most of the randomized trails have not revealed much but most of what has been evaluated have been ridiculously conservative doses. I have anecdotally seen amazing results at higher more aggressive dosages. I concede that it is not evidenced based and in the literature, but I am not so easy to dismiss it's efficacy in higher doses.

Good for you Eileen. At this rate, you will probably outlive most jabbed millennials.
I’m loving this Vinay Prasad.
Don’t reach for an SSRI
Being either a bureaucrat and/or a democrat means never having to say that you are sorry....
As a Northern Californian, I am so glad you are on top of everything happening in our state. I emailed the head of public health of Alameda County this morning, sharing the most recent guest article from sensible medicine about why new mask mandates are harmful. I hope the public outcry causes change in the right direction! Thank you! ❤
Don’t comply, it is just a power play, (how is Newsom still in office)?
It's not an issue about masks , but how easy was it for the Government to take total control and how willing the vast majority to follow . What next and all the smaller stuff we are being fed to follow.
Thanks for the interesting medley of your thoughts!
I love your commentary, Dr Prasad. The Covid insanity which continues where I live was a big contributor to my decision to retire early from healthcare. The stupidity was too demoralizing. Thank you for your voice of reason.
This is the best one I've seen. I never saw a degree in fact checking either.
Can You Catch A Cold? By Daniel Roytas
All the evidence you need to crush any and all pandemics.
You are the best voice of any kind that is saving lives with common sense medical advice.
I got no jabs. I live my life by 1 simple fucking rule, do the opposite of what the government says!!! Ill live well past 100 with that rule alone. I promise !!!
If there isn’t a willingness to debate then we’re not in a democracy.
Hopefully, medicine as a collective will acknowledge mistakes made in order to spare future generations.
Dr. John Campbell 's podcast (UK) had a man on, I think a MD, who had some kind of petition or class action set up for all nations, and inviting whoever wanted to sign. The details are vague, and title ('Hope' something) but so far up to 2000 doctors have a signed it from around the world plus many in the medical profession... if interested. Sorry the details are sketchy, I am 70 and suffering some brainfog lately. Hope this helps.
Ok, here is the additional info. It's called vac cine mora torium. Dr. Tim Kelly, Hope Accord petition.

Vinay you helped me immensely through the pandemic because i thought i was losing my mind. You kept me sane, you were a voice of reason. ❤
@@8aNda1d Thank you for the reply.
Simply showing a difference in the level of those items in your blood doesn't prove a difference in your health by themselves. There would have to be other indicators to show that you had health problems that had improved.
@@johnnemeth6913 Thank you for the comment. I assume your point is part of what he is saying. What I am not sure of, is if he is saying there is conclusive evidence that bringing up serum levels will make no difference or, if there is currently just not enough evidence to support the use of supplements. Also, does that mean that as long as I feel okay, I should ignore low serum levels? Finally, does he have any thoughts or suggestions for someone with low levels as an alternative to supplements? Thanks again!
How about a video on flu shots? I've never had the flu but now that I'm over 65, my doctor recommends it. I'm not too keen.
Your doctor loves money. Do your due diligence. Research the effects.
