I would recommend reading or paying attention to the text parts that appear a bit before the next episode preview. They are the rules of the DGP. It is usually explained in the episodes, but there is a neat payoff due to how the story progresses.

One thing to note is that each rider has a helmet in the shape of an animal, this is on purpose, the animals represent a part of their personality and has a stereotype the old man who died was a penguin- male penguins take care of their children ace - the fox is a liar and make schemes keiwa- the raccoon is innocent and optimistic neon- the cat wants to run away from home and be free michinaga- buffalo gets angry easy and always wants to fight the panda and the sheep also have their personality stereotypes that they will discover later in the show

Ace's name is "Ukiyo Ace" which reads like "Ukiyo-e" or "Pictures of a Floating World", like the style of painting. Denoting not only age, but depicting how he changes the world and is more 'high brow' than he leads on. Ace, of couse, for "number one". Keiwa's name basically means "Peaceful Landscape". Michinaga's name basically means "Long Road". Neon's name will be explained later. Tsumuri's name means "Close your eyes" Their rider names all represent their animals. Geats is a corruption of Kitsu, as in Kitsune, the fox. Tycoon is Typhoon Raccoon. Nago comes from Neko and Nya (Meow), for the cat. Buffa is for both Buff, Buffer and Buffallo.
Your opinion is great. But keiwa can be explored further. I'm not sure if Google Translate will be able to convey it accurately, but I'll give it a try. 景（Kei） means "the state of the surroundings as seen from one's perspective." It also means "all shapes illuminated by the sunlight," and can have the same meaning and reading as kage（Shadow）. In Japanese, Peace is a compound word combining two kanji characters, 平 (equal) and 和 (friendly), so if you just use 和（wa）, the friendly meaning would be stronger. In other words, Keiwa can be interpreted as a name with two meanings: "someone who can build friendly relationships with those around them" and "someone who is friendly to kage (darkness)." Also, Michinaga is more famous as the name of a historical figure than the meaning of the kanji itself, and if you hear the name "Michinaga," most Japanese people will think of Fujiwara no Michinaga, a politician from the Heian period (about 1,000 years ago). He was a ruthless politician who used all means to eliminate his political opponents, wielding such immense power that even the emperor could not defy him. At the same time, he was also a master archer with a bold personality, a great lover of literature, and a visionary intellectual who protected and supported female writers, including Murasaki Shikibu, author of The Tale of Genji, Japan's oldest full-length novel. @@yta5256 Oh yeah, I absolutely believe those reasons too. That's the beauty of kanji word play and cultural references. I'm sure there's a bunch of things as a westerner myself that I miss. Even design wise, there's also the fact that all the animals of the main characters are also yokai and not just animals. There's of course the Kyubi Kitsune rather than just the fox, but also the Tanuki, the Bakeneko; and of course the Gyuki, Ushi-Oni for Buffa. Kamen Rider goes really hard with their brainstorming sessions.

The storyline also follows the origins of Kamen Rider, where oni, kyubi no kitune, and tengu (Neon's family name, Kurama, is the name of the most famous tengu in Japan), are said to be the three great Youkai in Japan, and the incarnations of nature protect the world from the privileged class of humans who use the power of science to play with life. Also, unlike foxes that are recognized as gods by the Emperor, the pope of Shinto, tanuki are deified beings created from folklore, so considering the relationship between Keiwa and Kekera, you can see that his character is well thought out. I mean, given that people don't think of kids shows as having deaths, and the videogame/pubg nature of the Desire Grand Prix, it's an easy assumption that it's set in a digital world. Just clearing it up so as not to lessen the impact of the deaths shown in the show.
