The tree generation is impressive. I used it on my elf Sim and her ancestors not only looked like her, but a lot of them had pointy ears and even her CC eyes. Several of them had absolutely wild causes of death which was hilarious (still not over the one that had "Death by Pie transformation"). About the surnames, I'd assume since the mod has options for different ethnicities etc. it's probably taking into account that not all Sims would take their spouse's surname. Either that or it's just to distinguish the origins more easily lol, just speculating. Regardless, this mod is amazing lol
I love the look of this mod, I always find it odd to start a new household in the Sims because their family tree starts with them and it looks like they have no past unless you make them some parents and relatives. Thank you so much for showcasing it!
This is so beautiful, expansive, and unbelievable how intricate (even the cause of death, shared genetics, and a "welcome wagon" that's actually purposful and one I'd want to look forward to!) and wholesome this is, makes me feel like its so much more full and a meaningful world instead of my sims out there on their own. Downloading this immediately, amazing overview as always Jenn and so glad you're back!
Oh and you're right, the only critique I can find is that all parents are already elders whereas it'd be amazing if it could generate randomly with a percentage change that one or both *could* be elders as well as adults - hope that can be integrated but in reality, that's nothing in comparison to how fantastic this mod is
It’s perfect. I don’t believe in changing sim features. Unless it’s like hair and makeup and clothes. Plus y go back and work that hard when you could of just made them on your own. It’s definitely a must have. And I will be playing with it today. I got a perfect family that just had a baby and I could use the background
I always change the sims features 😭 usually I’ll start with one sim and then after playing a bit, give them some parents/grandparents in cas using the relative feature so they look a tad bit similar, but sometimes the face is off (that sims 4 cartoony look) so I try and fix that lol
I think this mod is cool if you don’t want to spend too much time making them in cas and have everyone ready right away, other than that I’m kinda more intrigued by the various other features of this mod 👀🔥 are you going to review them as well in another video ?
Amazing! I feel it would save more time to generate family trees than to create each generation for the beginning sim you want to play! I will definitely be adding this to my game for future use!
One reason why the mother doesn't have the same last name as the father could be because Sacrificial is from a country/culture where they don't do that. Maybe not, but it is true in certain Muslim cultures the wives keep their family surnames.

Some days I just want to grab a sim and go, this mod is perfect for adding backstory without having to sit and make parents and grandparents and siblings.
This mod is very interesting and I'm willing to try it out in my game. There are definitely some things I would have to change with my sims as far CAS but that doesn't bother me too much. In addition to using manage worlds to put them in house and all to really set up my story.
I know I'm late but this is perfect because I always seem to make this anyway and to find a mod that does it is absolutely wonderful I get tired of making their parents and their grandparents and aunts and sisters and there is a mod where you can simply designate that but I love this family tree

I actually tried this one a week or so ago. I liked the family tree part, but there was no information at all about what all of the other stuff did/was for, so I got rid of it. If they explained the rest I would consider it again.
i just used this mod with my current sim that already has both parents and a grandmother and i wanted to make her family tree bigger but even when i selected the option of not deleting previous generations it still got rid of her parents and put random sims on their place 😔 so i guess you can only use this when your sim doesn’t have anyone??
I watched another video on this and after she edited the parents you can see that they are no longer related to your sim. I was wondering if you noticed that too? Towards the end I think I saw that the male sim wasn’t labeled as her father anymore.
It would be reallly cool if you could choose who you want to be apart of your family. Like I have the relationship mod to put it as a cousin or uncle etc but they are not in your family tree.
If you create two sims that are related and use this mod for one of the sims, does it apply automatically to the sibling sim? Either way, I can't wait to play with it because generations is my fave gameplay.
And NO Jenn, its whatever way you want to say it and I will die on the hill of "live" mode like the reality that they are "alive" and living in the world ("live" like "dive") - fun aside, you do you but don't for a second feel compelled to change your pronunciation simply because a few other big Sims figures feel like saying it other than this is the only proper way

I tried this mod along with kawaiistacie’s life decider mod. I created a family with skills, jobs and friends in minutes. It worked brilliantly 🥰

As someone who's playing Not So Berry and whose family tree regularly deletes the oldest generations, I will be trying this immediately.
So when I did it I didn't even realize that my sim looked mixed and the family generator generated her parents as an interracial couple I love it

I this feature but I also really like the other features especially Outfits. Changing outfits has never been easier

In my personal opinion I think this family tree generator is a nice tool to use for story building for writers like myself.

When you work on your family tree in real life, you always use the woman’s maiden name if she’s married.
