the free version of inner pitch by auburn sounds is a really good replacement for the gojira wow pedal and i find it already has a ton of artifactiness without the ringmod and chorus
Dude, I can really tell your mental health and confidence is doing good lately. Your demeaner is lively and you're smiling more. I'm really happy for you.
Between figuring out the ring mod trick and learning to add chorus for thickness on the octave shrieks, this video is like my holy grail for that nasty, chonky thall tone that I want for my guitar sections. The specificity of the whole tutorial is invaluable. Thank you!
Bro… last time i checked this channel you werent as good as this. Thats some Insaneeee improovement. Defenetly an Inspiration for me to work on my audio
I have come up with a very similar stack when trying to recreate the noise pedal that was released in Collab with alpha wolf a couple months ago. Great content! Awesome tutorial
The Efektor Whammo plugin may be a good alternative for fairly clean pitches and not very artifact sounding unlike most whammy plugins, nevermind a ring mod we all love to use for noises we make. It is an inexpensive plugin you can get. I never knew about thall and deathcore bands using ring mods until I noticed how its done recently. Nevertheless, great demonstration and very informative!
I tried that one and it had a huge latency. Gojira works close to the real pedal, with a very slight latency. For mixing, as I said in another comment, one can use ReaPitch.
@@iamjacktaylor Yep, for live monitoring both the transpone feature in X plugins and whammy are superior to anything I tried! I set my buffer to 32 or 64 (48 khz) and it goes pretty much alright. Not perfect, but very playable. The final touch can be done in the post production phase anyway. To mention other options, there's also this Helix suite which is extremely clunky and slow, but there are many pitch-shifter options, they are good too for post production.
This is awesome man. I love the gojira plugin. The mixwave spirit box ampsim is another awesome one. I love mixwave plugins. Their drum kits are phenomenal.
Download the demo for Hypertune by Polychrome DSP, it sounds really clean even when octave dropping from double drop C. I haven't tried to use it for screeches yet, but I'd be interested in hearing an opinion from an experienced metal musician like yourself.
For some reason, even though I played the same notes to test if it was me playing to high or something, it sounds like dog shit, I'm not sure why it's not working properly, maybe it's because I'm using FL Studio but I'm not sure what is happening
I would love to shoot you an email asking some questions about this and just your techniques in general, is there anywhere i can ask these questions personally? Maybe giving you some ideas for videos as well!
@@andallicansayis absolutely. Put it before (!) your amp sim, set the algorithm to Elastique 3.3.3 Pro, change the parameter below to either Preserve Formants (Most Pitches) or (High Pitches). Compared to Gojira or real whammy or whatever, the sound has noticeably less artifacts. Which is something one might want to make chords more readable, as the artifacts while sound cool in many cases, may also be detrimental.
Genius! You found the right ingredients and the amount for them! I tried it myself and I found adding a OTT, fresh air and black box saturation (or any saturation with an "air" know I guess) after the chain you crafted enhance the nastiness of the artifacts. In case, you want to give it a try 🩷

The other thall God has spoken. Will take note of that, thanks for sharing your wisdom 🙏

@@_rekak is there latency can i use it live?
@@Durkhead yeah there is a small amount of latency but i think it would be fine when using it live, go test it out
Been using that a lot lately. It's really good. Probably the best free pitch shifter imo
Your mixes sounded absolutely insane! Should definitely do a tutorial on how you mix if you haven’t

Been wondering what i was doing wrong and i think you've just helped me crack it! thanks dude :D
Sounds sick; would really love to hear the guitar on its own as you add each effect as well.
Insane tutorials man, I love how thick your mixes sound. Stay awesome!
awesome video! super helpful! perhaps in future videos like these you can solo the guitar in the mix?
Great tutorial my dude, I loved it! I guess my sound for the next demo will be taken from this video :)
Uses Reaper, Does thall, holy crap i found thall jesus
Damn your mix is good
Sick tutorial, thanks for doing this!

@ I see; I just thought I’d mention the plugin. However, I agree with you on the Gojira whammy. It is my most ever used whammy emulator :)

Have you tried using a pitch shifter up half a semitone blended in 50%? Gives some crazy noise with the fatso pedal added
YEET. 🔥🦖🤘

So do you put the Whammy, Ring Mod and Chorus before or after your AmpSim?

If anyone is having this problem, I got triggered by the name "Guitar Bus" and I used those plugins in my Guitar Bus instead of my DI Bus, my bad!!
Honestly I am more curious about how you made that TONE

So its basically like using a dt whammy like pantera?
Yes, Vildhjarta also use it
Gojira's pedal is nice, low latency, decent sound, but when mixing, you can use ReaPitch. It sounds noticeably better.
is it? which settings do you use?

Me: Damn, solid riff. Sounds pretty sick as is.
Blake: Yeah, so this is probably the lamest riff in existence.
