I just love your group lesson videos!! I'm in a cha cha class right now and I feel that it's one of the most difficult dances... Thank you again for your awesome videos!!
An appealing, bright, well-designed video. You showed us, "Look, you can aim at this level!," rather than wordy intro or just another, "For cha-cha we use this foot, then the other foot, now......." Bigger scope given via this video! Inspiration is so rare in dance videos. A few at least use humor, and that helps both sides of the camera, I am sure. Speaking of micro concerns: What good ways will clue a partner, espec. an unfamiliar one, of the exact moment you intend to start? The hint/warning should not be confused with an actual start. (Surely the lead should have concern for his partner then and throughout--but how much concern while still being interestingly daring?!)
Thanks Rand for interesting comment! About leading I suggest that Men’s body preparation before actual step or movement is what indicates to Lady how to prepare and follow next thing. Best wishes for Anno Domini 2019 🎉
12:27 - Analysis of part of the cha-cha sequence I saw....... Spot Turn to R (Lady L) - 2 3 First Cha-Cha-Cha in 2-Handed Open Facing Travelling to L (Lady R) - 4 and 1 Second Cha-Cha-Cha in Overturned New York Position, Still Going L (Lady R) - 2 and 3 Third Cha-Cha-Cha back in Open Facing Still Going L - 4 and 1 Regular New York to L (Lady R) 2- 3 First Cha-Cha-Cha in 2-Handed Open Facing Travelling to R (Lady L) - 4 and 1 Second Cha-Cha-Cha in Overturned New York Position, Still Going R (Lady L) - 2 and 3 Third Cha-Cha-Cha back in Open Facing Still Going R (Lady L) - 4 and 1 Outside Lady's UAT, which to me looked almost like an Alemana Turn - 2 3 The Overturned New Yorks are almost like Back-to-Back Position.....
And when one can master the Syncopated Cuban Breaks in Open Facing (Intermediate), you can go into the novice level form of Syncopated Cuban Breaks in Side by Side Position (preferably R Side-by-Side) to use in open-style Latin dancesport later on....:) :)
Thanks Rand H for interesting question. Simplest way to change leading is to change direction of body movement and/or amount of rotation of body. Example: when you dance first three steps of Natural Turn you can lead Lady to Spin Turn by making 1/2 rotation to right in one step (left foot back and pivot). Or you can continue to second part of Natural Turn by moving back with slight rotation to right. Hope it helps.

Thanks for your question. Put time code which moment you are interested in?
Would like some comments/tips on how to clue in your partner that something different is coming up.

I guess I'm a little confused but I thought the men always started with the left foot?
It depends - which figure you start with.
