Not really. I mean the 114 was basically a 113 with a different engine, still in use around the world. The sheridan was OK and the chassis used at NTC for decades after. The sheridan was just not good for vietnam or germany.
@@sylvan47070 the 114 is hardly in use around the world. It was only in service with the army for a few years. Where else would the Sheridan be used at this but vietnam and Germany. Both were pure POS.
@@sylvan47070 You mean "the actual place they were used" and "the place where they were most likely to be used if the Cold War had gone hot". Sounds like no issue then 😁
I joined in ‘74 and was a crewman on an M-114A1, watch tank gunnery by M551s and M-60s, flew in several UH 1s. At Ft Hood, First Cavalry Division. Brings back memories. I was. “Hey you” detailed once to balance a gamma-goat for an amphibious crossing, they ride low in the water. In Germany we had M 113a1s.
I have to know more about that 60s jetpack
Bell Laboratories . Then Tyler in Van Nuys CA. Now a show group as other means make the rocket pack obsolete
Those bridge units always remind me of Die Hard 3 lol

I would call the Sheridan tank a lot of things. Reliable is not one of them.
Marching is obsolete.
The M-114 tracked recon vehicle and the M-551 Sheridan were abject failures. Also, "This man's future," was Vietnam.
The M551 wasn't perfect, but it was also far from an "abject failure."
