I don't know why people are bashing this guy ! He says at beginning he is not from this area , he don't know much on it . He was here for a trip and stopped to see it. Some of the graves was over grown with trees and weeds. Think they are just now clearing it and trying to remark graves . Sirens are because police office and hospital are right below you .
Thank you, Karol. I discovered the hospital after I turned the camera off. I live in Virginia, but my son's fiance lives there in Pikeville. We were there to see her family, and it was her mother that tipped me off to the location of the cemetery. (She knows about this channel, and also knew I had a little time to kill.) I normally have a bit more research done when I PLAN to visit a place, but when a surprise opportunity comes I try to take it when possible - and then research it later.
@@ExploringHistoryTogether That's what I said, she and her cousin were searching for one grave in particular (family) and I was like "up there!?" lol ... I can't imagine a funeral procession going way up there either. On a faithful note, I try to imagine Resurrection day (day of Rapture) up on that hill.. Whoa!.. Sure it'll be a *sight!* Much love EHT.. Awesome vid :)
I’m Devil Anse Hatfield great great great grandson! I live in Pikeville too
Well THAT is an interesting bit of history, my friend! I'm glad you found this video from when I visited your town! Thank you for watching. ~Jason
Can you imagine being a pallbearer and having to carry a casket up to the top of that hill?
Take a look at my other Pikeville Kentucky video… the hill is far steeper than this one. (But yes, this one is certainly steep too!)
I was exhausted just by looking at it and thinking of those poor souls who carry them up there.
Maybe see some of my family
I got a kick out of the Paul Stanley grave. If there would have been a Gene Simmons grave I would have lost it.

@@ExploringHistoryTogether Ignore her. She’s just being a Karen. Interesting video.
My Wife explored this graveyard in the DARK!
I assume it would MIGHTY dark up in there at night... there are trees everywhere, and I didn't see any visible street lights. Creepy!

@@aryehatreyu606 The dark is still dark, no matter which day of the year it is! LOL! I'm glad she didn't slip and fall down that steep hillside.
