One interesting thing when I visited Jogja, I tried one of the extreme culinary in the Gunung kidul area, namely fried grasshoppers... It feels different from those in Thailand in Jogja more diverse flavors not only salty. Which must have made me long to go back there.
Once and my last visit to jogja was about 18 years ago for study tour when i was in junior school. As Indonesian, we know that this city is "ngangenin". The food, culture, nature, vibes and the people itself are perfect. Love your energy!

When eat krecek, u must add rice with it. Me as a locals also feel weird when only eat krecek without the rice. But in the end, it all back to the tongue. Not every tounge love this kind of food. Just like jengkol, pete (petai), etc 😁

When you visit Medan, go to Sambu, there is a street food there with Kambing menus. Ask for 'Kepala Kambing". They will give you a goat skull tide with a coconut leaf. You can open the goat's skull to get it's brain, hehe
you're amazing guys, bule tapi lidah rasa indonesia eat a lot of indonesian's food and you'll miss it someday if you go back to your country (pulang kampung).

One thing I noticed. People from the western countries, do not like the jelly-jolly texture of the krecek. BUT, the East Asian tourist, like Korean or japanese, they like krecek a LOT!.
