During this period of releases, Ren was leaving Easter eggs. The song he released before this was Fred Again Mashup. He used the song Jungle by Fred Again as part of the mashup. This song has Back on 74, by Jungle. In it he shouted out Nas. The next song he released after this one was Halftime (Nas Retake).
Also, there is a different version of Ren doing Message In A Bottle on the Brighton Beach Busking BBB channel. The audio is not as good as videos on Ren's channel. But it's still pretty cool. There is also an Englishman In New York cover that he did with his band The Big Push. That is a whole different rabbit hole if you haven't seen them on your other platforms yet.

The pause is more than just a device to highlight the "awkward pause" lyric. Nas wrote a song called "The World Is Yours" that touches on a lot of social injustice themes. It's an awkward pause because, if you're familiar the lyrics, the Nas shoutout is jarring against the nostalgia of Back on 74.

It’s hard to really put into words but it’s like Ren slipped into his comfort zone where he feels at home. Everything he does, he makes it seem effortless. But there’s something so natural and just right about it when he starts singing that song. Something beyond his voice being fitting. Maybe it’s partly because it’s one of his favourite songs and the love of it oozes into the performance? Or because he has sung it so many times that he feels extra confident? Whatever it is, it makes you almost gasp in shock and then immediately relax as you recognise that this is perfect.
This is in the top 3 of reactions I have seen of this and I’ve seen LOT. It might even be number 1! Watching you totally swoon over him is a joy!

Found out after watching this song many times that Ren has grown up as a massive sting fan! And it’s amazing! I have never in my life heard a voice sounding almost identical to Sting than Ren! So beautiful. Lovely. Never tire! You would absolutely go crazy seeing the video and song “Crutch” by Ren featuring Bibi!!!!! It’s a must. Put out I believe in 2017? This was another brilliant ReNtake. Just Ren doing Ren things. Crazy runs and harmonies, filthy bars to remind us that he is also still a cheeky boi, and that voice that’s perfect for Sting/The Police songs. Ren has music in his soul and pours so much soul into everything he does. We’re just lucky to witness it. Oh and it’s okay to drool a little. Ren brought the sexy for this one 😂

His videos are filmed in Brighton on the south coast of England. I've been lucky to see him perform on the streets of the city with his band The Big Push. The guy is so talented it's mind-blowing! He can rap, sing, beatbox, plays guitar and piano, produces all his music. In fact his talent is unlimited. He plays all genres, therefore he can entertain everyone whether you're into rap, reggae, ska, punk or metal. Absolute genius. I'm a 57 year old Goth who NEVER got into rap and now there's this local guy that I HAVE to listen to every bloody day 😂. Enjoy the Ren rabbit hole because there's no coming back 😊
P.S. you can stay with me if you need a holiday in Brighton. It's the gay capital of the UK! Even have a nudist beach AND an annual naked bike race 😂😂
Ren and the police are a match- you need to listen to big push Englishman in New York. It’s probably the best cover of any song I’ve heard
I LOVE singing Ren & his sexy manly after hours Mad Men look too lol. He's a fan of The Police and his range is very similar to Sting's (if not better). I can say that one thing he has over many artists, is versatility and in spades! He likes to flirt with reggae once in awhile too, which is always cool. He compliments these amazing backup singer's perfectly. He never overpowers them, just rides the wave with them...beautifully and always keeps his performances interesting & captivating.

Ren's musical arrangement is incredible because he blends 2 songs from different decades & genres, as well as an original rap by him, all seamlessly. Ren uses the famous "Message In a Bottle" guitar riff by adding it to the 1st song "Back on 74". Then he incorporates the lyrics "Let it go" from 'Back on 74" and let's the backing vocalists blend it into the "Message in a Bottle" cover. That alone would be crazy good, but then he goes & connects both songs bridging them with an original rap that he wrote on the fly. 🤯🤯
