It's interesting how Artisan Home Entertainment still published the VHS after MGM got the rights to the film and released it on DVD. I know this because I saw a VHS of Terminator 1 & 2 that was from Artisan with a copyright date of 2003. I wonder why this is?

      Because MGM/UA owns Orion Pictures.

It's rare but movies can be offered in split home video rights sometimes. It's way more common overseas, but the boutique blu ray labels started doing it more often now. If i had to guess Live home entertainment in the 90's musta got a long term VHS deal to this one and T2, DVD wasn't even negotiated until late 90's and 2000 and MGM probably had more $ to go for it when it did become offered. Artisan was still a small company then and had money issues already which was why Lionsgate bought them out a few years later.

DVD was a big deal back then. Now it’s all about BLU-RAY, 4K UHD, and Digital.

The visual FX and the soundtrack must have been MINDBLOWING in 1984

I don’t know. But my suggestion would be like I did get a VHS to Digital converter for PC Or Mac and Transfer the VHS copy to your IPhone. I use this www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/roxio-easy-vhs-to-dvd-plus-v-3-box-pack-1-user-win-english/apd/a5811759/software?gacd=9646510-1024-5761040-266380031-0&dgc=st&ds_rl=1282786&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_sTE7snX8gIVCmpvBB1v2wLCEAkYAiABEgKSvPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&nclid=PL-Ogpv98n13ZjdLKqNwXiosTaK_BaMAcPX2ERXVWWVZOMvQ9GXLSzEntcHcxX9OIUTzOR798Q1agTPOLvdX3w
