What about installing it backwards (ripper tooth towards machine), when working from the top? The main tool body wouldn't then fowl the rock and give better operator visibility.

Well,nice to work on fractured rock and scraping from blasting. However, not so effective on when making a trench ,let say 5 meters depth for about 4 000 meters! The other question is, when you have vibration and the weight of the tool,what the boom of the machine attached to is experiencing on a molecular level?!
