And neither of those things can be denied, they are both quite true. It means she has no real credibility.
If this is the best the Tories have - good, they will consign themselves to the back benches for longer so their vindictive, divisive and hateful policies will never gain traction.
She's a political infant raised well beyond her ability or experience. The membership needed to elect a grown up, or even better - a fully fledged adult to be their leader.
It bemuses me that pundits were talking about her intelligence and ability when she's never been more than a flaky loudmouth. She was marginally preferable to the unprincipled farageoid Jenrick, but that's about as low as bars come. In fairness, Tories didn't have much of a talent pool to choose from, but that was their fault for governing so badly as they shovelled public funds into the maws of their fat-cat cronies. She'll never learn from her mistakes: she hasn't the depth or the humility, it's the familiar Johnson/Truss arrogance with nothing of substance to back it up. She'll probably implode in a few months out of outrage at anyone disagreeing with her. Truly hopeless.
I don't consider Kemi a Tory but a reactionist what she sees and hears on social media, which is mainly coming from the USA. Unfortunately their are some on the left who hate others on the left feeding her both misinformation, who will temporarily support her to support their ideology.
She really thought standing at the dispatch box giving sound bites and telling porkies was going to work. I was no fan of Mrs T , but she would have been embarrassed this woman. Mrs T had style which cannot be replicated regardless of whether or not you agree with her.

The Tories arguing immigration control at a new government after 14 years of Tory catastrophic failure of the same is simply humiliating. She is being poorly advised. But worse than that, what does it all say about her. The Conservative Party is deceased. And I mean that literally.
An extreme right wing party with an incompetent leader is far less frightening than one with a competent leader, so I hope Badenoch remains Tory leader for a very long time.
One of the problems pointed out to Conservatives during the leadership contest was that all of the MPs have the same Boris baggage. The public rejected that government and Kemi Badenoch simply represents bad comedy every Wednesday. They should have had an outside leader voted in after the election loss.
Immigration is destroying the West. It's just capitalism importing an over supply of labour in, which is a race to the bottom particularly for the working class. Capitalism will never invest in training, robotics or increase pay and conditions if it can just fly in labour. Back in the day the Left understood this, even Bernie Sanders was anti immigration. GDP per cap/ head is DOWN over this high immigration period
Of course, Brexit was a catastrophe from which the Tories can never recover. Tories were a remain party with some leavers on the grounds of sovereignty. When Brits voted leave, the Tories accepted this decision, and thereby became a party which had renounced any pretence of leadership, all the while pretending there would be economic benefits.
We havea very unpleasant group in power. Unfortunately, there does not seem to any real opposition which is desperately needed. After 70 + yrs I now really fear for the future of the UK.
This is a woman so inept that ashe started a fight with David Tennant, botched it, dragged it out, and handled it so badly she started an entirely new fight with Sylvester McCoy. She reeks of something I've seen too often with Tories - They never face the results of their mistakes, never face failure they can't just brush off, and never learn to work up from a disadvantaged position. It's the same damn thing we saw with Sunak, Truss, and so many others.
I am reading a book about Margaret Thatcher. Whether you liked her or hated her, she was a woman who did her homework. Come to the dispatch box unprepared and she'd hand your head back to you on a platter.
Kemi Badenoch was my Mother's MP until she moved to Wiltshire. When my Mother contacted her MP for help, Badenoch refused. It was because of that that my Mother voted Lib Dem. Badenoch has never helped any of her constituents, because she is an arrogant, lazy, MP. She is equally arrogant and equally stupid as leader of the opposition. That woman could pick a fight in an empty room, and STILL be wrong. Starmer should be have to declare her as a gift.
What is it with the Tories? For 44 years they have picked rediculous leaders. Yet they have (use to) a massive mambership. And all they can come up with Johnson and Badenoch.
I don't know about anyone else, but I've not heard or seen anyone who thinks that Badenoch is doing a good job. I agree with everything said in the video. She's an appalling mediocrity and is making it easy for the heinous Reform UK to garner support.
She's just a seat warmer until they can buy Farage or one of his cronies. The worrying part is they are going to feel that they need to go further to the right - a lot of people seem to have blanked out the last 14 years and have fallen for the bs that everything wrong in the world is Starmer's fault. If you get people angry you can manipulate them easier
I went to look at that video of PMQs. What appalling questions. Assad was ousted this week. No questions about that world changing event and the repercussions that will ensue. Why can’t she be topical?? She’s clearly not leadership material.

It's in the name, innit. It seems to me that Tory MPs and members are unable to elect a leader who will lead them out of the wilderness. Doesn't bode well for the Party. Not sure whether it bodes well for the country.
A bigger question is whether if there were a suitable leader the party members would chose that leader, rather than a weaker but more right wing alternative. I can't see it tbh.
I’m glad you’re able to articulate your thoughts about her and her representation as a Tory. I’m perplexed by how she is so willing to call out virtue signalling and other forms of bias. Let’s face it, she’s boiled in her own juice, but she’s just a distraction from the exit to the neonazi party… which she’ll do to.
I thought she would be a breath of fresh air at the despatch box. She has handed open goals to Starmer and it’s obvious she is just same old same old. Vote Reform and watch Nigel destroy them with the truth.
Prof, I think laziness can be mistaken for stupidity. Here’s why. Stupid people often cannot see that some things they have to do in their job require preparation. Stupid people often ignore advice too. I’m sure KB has advisors but I’m equally sure she ignores them.
I'm truly appalled that the membership chose Badenoch as their new leader, they seem to have a habit of choosing political suicide these days. PMQs is painful to watch except when Alex Burghart is standing in for the PM. He's very impressive in taking down Starmer, which should be a fairly easy job to do, but one which Badenoch seems incapable of doing. The question is how soon before the party realise they have made a terrible mistake and plot to get rid of her? Not that easy when they are going to make themselves look extremely foolish in the process. Farage must think all his birthdays have come at once when you've got Starmer on the one side and Badenoch on the other other destroying themselves, their reputation and their parties in the process.
Kemi oft claims to be a scientist, so we ought to have real concerns as to why she has abandoned scientific methodology. If we observe each PMQs she and/or her team should have been able to analyse the data (results of her questions) and reformulate a plan to ask questions that will achieve her objectives. This has been an abject failure every week, it is almost as though they are a week or two behind the drag curve and in fact are only realising they are being reactive (SunTzu - The Art of War). It will be a long time before they can dictate the pace of battle, an army full of generals without any soldiers is not a fighting force.
I'm afraid I agree with you Prof. for once. The fact that she can make Starmer look good must says a lot. What on earth were the Tories thinking to vote her in as leader. She is not Conservative for a start. Maybe it's a cunning ruse, maybe she is The Trojan Horse.
I dealt with Badenoch when she was a member of the London Assembly a few years ago. She was hopeless then - unfocused, lazy and unable to listen. She spoke mindless platitudes as a substitute for engaging effectively with the real issues. She doesn’t seem to have improved: simply sounding angry is no way to convince people when your party is in such dire trouble.
She strikes me as being 'flitty' Flitting off on to the next career progression asap. That's why she never bothered to get proper Professional Exams - though she would have failed any that are worth their credit (Medicine, Law, Accountancy, Engineering - with no hierarchy there).

Burghart? The angry, shouty one?
Farage, that US grifter?
It's very simple, she isn't up to the job, she was the best of a very bad bunch.

Because the Cons select based on clownery and histrionics since Boris
Making Starmer look like a statesman 😳 is, well, a sort of achievement.
Under what capacity are we to believe you 'dealt with her'?
He made it up. He's always doing it here. Still it fills his empty life.😊😊
She strikes me as being 'flitty' Flitting off on to the next career progression asap. That's why she never bothered to get proper Professional Exams - though she would have failed any that are worth their credit (Medicine, Law, Accountancy, Engineering - with no hierarchy there).
When I asked my mate, a tory pensioner, when his party had just knife Boris who's the new leader going to be? he said "there is nobody" . Was he right?
The big problem is Labour have nobody capable and they're in government.
