" i heard that clear as day, even listening back to try and hear it as " one " base game map. I also think personally, that wild boar is one of the most guessed next GOs based on their current pattern, ( 2 antlered and one not antlered/predator on each base map ) and he said he can promise us its NOT something we'd expect. I for one think if they WERE to stick to the same pattern, having 2 antlered species and a predator species on each base map, red fox would be the most obvious choice because its the only predator on hirsh, although it could just be antlered and NOT antlered which the boar would fit into. based on the trailer, it seems pretty obvious that's the roar of a tiger, they have a very distinct roar that's deeper than other big cats, its hard to mistake for say, a jaguar or especially a lion ( fun fact, the roar of the lion in the " lions gate " movie intro is actually a tiger because lions didn't sound " majestic enough " ) I will be surprised if its not a tiger, they would have gotten the roar wrong, although that is possible, and i think if they took the time to add tigers, that would be a HUGE missed opportunity to add as a GO. while we WOULD Expect the next GO to be a tiger if we knew that's what the roar was, at the time of him saying that we didn't have the roar teaser and wouldn't have known to expect it. I don't think there is a single person who plays this game, who wouldn't immediately want to buy that map for a GO tiger. I would also like to add if it came down to a boar or red fox as the next great one, i'd prefer the fox, just because of all the insane coat patterns i know they can have that would be easily explainable. fox are farmed for their fur, and as a result, there are a LOT of cool color morphs that exist from line breeding, which could explain a GO existing, humans made it, made it big from excessive feeding, and it escaped into the wild or something. makes more sense than some of the other GO colors we currently have just randomly happening. if you want some neat examples, check out the fur color types in planet zoo for the red fox.

However, if I'm reading the room right, it wouldn't make sense to have Hirschfelden is a possible source for a Great One in this case. In retrospect, and a few people have mentioned this, it could very well be a pheasant because they weren't an original species on Hirschfelden. They were a backfilled species that came with Rancho Del Arroyo. EDIT: Red fox is a viable option for a Great One, for sure! You make great points about that as well, and the fur types would be AMAZING!

I think it might actually be a pheasant. Jaxy said that it’s not a base map animal and the pheasant was originally on Rancho but was later on put on Hirch as a backfill
@@DavideGamingAndOutdoors The only issue is that ring-necked pheasants aren't native to Nepal. They are imports and raised specifically on farms there. In fact, you have to submit a business plan to the Nepalese government to raise them.
While he did state specifically it would not be on Layton, he also said twice that it will not be on a base map and that it will be a DLC species. I think that for him (and I am just guessing) "base map" = Layton Lakes (his admitted favorite), but that does not exclude Hirschfelden; a "DLC Great One" will naturally have to come from DLC(s). I don't grind for G1s, so honestly it does not affect me at all, but I really doubt a wild boar is it (as cool as that could be!). I would guess it will be one of the Asian deer species, perhaps one we have on EC already like the rusa or hog deer, just so there is more than one map with them.

Honestly, sometimes I forget wild boar are on Hirschfelden and associate them more with Medved. I wonder if maybe he had a mind blank...? What if it’s a backfill species: hear me out… g1 comes from a dlc map but Hirsch gets 1 backfilled species. It only has 9 species currently with 30% of those being class 1… 😮
