Her saying "You said the waiter ate my crab cake" when she was yet to figure out they knew each other was one big goof in this production. She would later ask them if they knew each other, and the order of the storyline was wrong at that point.
I love how this keeps escalating till they ended up revealing each others most embarrassing moments. The leather pants and TV cabinet moments are some of the gems of this show.

And that was their real-life friendship shining on the screen. They both said more than once, in the interviews, even in the 90s, that they were the closest real-life buddies out of the male actors on the show. And there are many interviews, behind the scenes, and bloopers when you see Le Blanc and David all the time together, during the breaks. They also had this one, special, cute handshake they talked about during the reunion, and they actually used it as Ross and Joey a few times on the show. And it makes sense, in real life, David and Matt both had similar personalities, so you know they just clicked: they were way more mature and serious than Perry in real life, and both famously disliked the crazy attention and fame Friends brought them.
