Brought back some memories. I drove this road around 1997 in the winter in a rented 2nd Toyota Starlet. Not the optimal vehicle for that mission! Hardly any snow and fine weather, otherwise it would have been a bit dodgy. Can’t believe the other traffic you guys had. I didn’t see a soul - maybe a few sheep. NZ is such a beautiful place!
Hi Mike, I thought you did well once the jammed rear brake issue was sorted lol.... I'm halfway through editing the Omarama Manuherikia River episode at the moment. Watch this space, and thanks for your support.
@@kiwiadventurerfunny you say that Darryl, apart from visiting family I have a mate here in Tasmania wants hire some bikes and ride some of the South Island tracks.
@@thehairyleggedbikers.darre2510 Hi Darrel, when you say your mate wants to hire some bikes is that because he's coming accompanied with fellow riders. What sort of hirage? and budget. Does he wish to tour freelance or a guided ride. What type of riding, touring or adventure and gravel roads where the best scenery is?
@@kiwiadventurersorry about the delay in replying Darryl. He has been speaking to Troy from The Bad Idea Bros when Troy was in Hobart. He is going to put a plan together.
Hey Kelvin how ya going, Na mate, I'll be working my way down through Nelson Lakes to the West Coast. I haven't finished working out where from there yet but I know I will be riding across from Kurow in my own time the same as we did this year during February Dusty Butt.
