Thanks for uploading this!! I’ve been slowly whittling down my time on the PC version (currently number 3 at 2:08.16) and have had NO idea how the top 2 managed to get 2:03’s. I assumed they used some kind of glitch or exploit but I guess not! Time to get workin again 😅
Nope. 2:03 is slow. There’s M speed and D speed glitches that shave a ton of time off down to like 1:30 but the quickest I’ve ran this with no exploits like that is 1:59.30.
Awesome playthrough. The developers really need to patch Sonic's repeated "Yahh" shouts though when he's speed boosting. i.e. 1:10. It's really annoying to listen to than the original Sonic Generations' voice.
I hate the boost mechanic. Levels are built around it. Might as well just make Sonic boost permanently instead of having a boost bar. Plataforming is kinda lost. Games have very few enemies and when there are, you just boost through them, just get rid of them at that point. In Frontiers was ok because map is huge and open, but in stages is overkill. Games become a need for speed simulator. If you want to speed up, they could just bring back the mechanic where sonic charges speed by turning into a ball, very iconic and it basically lost.

In the 6 years I've owned the original Sonic Generations on Steam I did not know there was a path on the grass in that section at 0:49

You can run between the 2 flower beds at the end instead of going to the right of them. Its faster.

This is actually amazing. I even managed to do something simular yesterday but I was 5 seconds off

I’m a whole 3 seconds faster. Doesn’t matter though we’re eventually gonna get crushed by people doing M and D speed. I just can’t do it.
Gotta ask since I haven’t seen it from other speedruns yet, but does M and D speed still work in the remaster?

They added 3 Chao to the stages you can find, otherwise the level design is unchanged
