    @Naxi2245,
    Actually is pronounce "Luoang", it means Huge, Vast, Big or anything that is emphasizing on gigantic in size. Hoong by itself is means "bright" but uses with Toohr like "Toohr- Hoong" it is a Dragon.
    The word Chiang means neither Valley or Flat Plane or Flat Field. Now let's couple Chiang to Hoong and have got most popular city of the Tai people, which is ChiangHoong.

    KOLOFENG(Chinese name), Khun LO is our Tai Name according with the world history records. He has been verified as "Tai Prince" who established Muang Swa (Suar, Tai meaning; Extra, Above or Over fill) now a day "LuongPhraBang". Lo is a common last name for true Tai lineage. During the French colonialism, "Lo" has been modified to "Lo Van" for political reasons.

    I think many people misunderstand something. This is a 'Tai' song in 'Tai' language and sung by a 'Tai' girl. This is not Lao language. Sibsongpanna people call themselves 'Tai' not 'Lao'. People around Lao country even some people in Lao call themselves 'Tai'. They never identify themselves as 'Lao'. Even though they speak the language similar to 'Lao' but it's still 'Tai' language. Lao language and people are part of 'Tai'. Don't misunderstand this.
