Genny, that tree had me choking up when it started to play music. It is such a beautiful item to have in your home. When my two kids were younger, I collected and displayed a village of 30-50 building through the house. I had received some as gifts from my husband and kids as well as other family members. I collected around 1k people, animals, trees, benches, carriages, etc to complete the village. During the pandemic, our niece came to stay and she constantly asked me why I had some much and “didn’t I feel guilty “. Being made to feel bad about it, I let her pack it up and donate it all. Then this last Christmas, both of my kids (adults with kids of their own), asked me to put up the village because it was their best memory. I could have cried! My best friend has helped me start a new village. It’s been fun but so many memories lost. I really appreciate that you are saving the good stuff from becoming trash. And your home is beautiful!
Don't ever let someone talk you out of something you love! Sometimes young people don't understand sentiment because they are not there yet. Bless your heart for the memories lost.
The musical tree is so cool! I love the way you look at things, wanting Claire and future children to cherish certain things, you just have the neatest personality. It’s like the important things really matter to you, it’s nice to see. I’m really enjoying the thriftmas videos!
I have a jewelry box that is walnut that my grandfather gave me when I was about 12. It plays music too, and it always makes me emotional. It's like a little visit from him.
Oh my goodness that music made me emotional too. I think it was waiting at the antique store for you to take it home and love it❤thank you so much for sharing🤗
Nothing like a quiet evening watching your Thriftmas haul. Some really great finds. Love the ceramic tree! You know I love something that’s a traditional piece! Guess it’s time to make cocoa here.
I love your and Nick's hot cocoa toast! Soon little Claire will be able to join in. The musical Christmas tree would be perfect for Claire's room! Especially with the little teddy bear at the bottom of it! Great haul and great prices! Again it is so nice seeing you enjoy pieces that were popular in the 80's and 90's. I was buying these things back then when I was your age! It takes me back.....
I just gave my daughter her christmas count down piece, her cookies and milk with Twas the Night Before Christmas book for my first granddaughter born in October. So awesome to have memories and pass things down to your kids. She remembers fighting with her brother on who was going to move the Santa. Thrift shopping with your kids is so much fun too. Just wait until Claire gets her own cart and fills it up. Its so cute. Merry Christmas!
I started a diary on my Facebook account of my Christmas decorations so my kids will know where things came from. Today I posted stockings my Mom made from quilt tops her Grandma made. I love nostalgic Christmas memories.
If you use the Disney piece on your cabinet, maybe you could set up a mirror behind it so that Mickey shows up. This is the first time I’ve seen one of your videos. Now I’m going back to watch the other Thriftmas videos.🌲❤️
We have a book called happy little school that we got from goodwill.. it’s a fave.. falling apart because of us and it is just so loved 🥰 📚 love getting books and kids toys from the thrift stores
Hello my friend! That fireplace sure did look warm and cozy!😊 I miss my fireplace. If I were still in Tennessee, it would definitely be going right nown But when we get our house I will have it and can use it all year long! Even in Florida, that's the advantage of an electric fireplace right?!😊 I saw someone pick up a ceramic tree kind of like that one and do a DIY on it to make it look primitive. it was pretty cool, and it looked simple enough I think I could even do it! Wow.. that was a nice, huge wreath!😮 I really like that white shelf you picked up, and the other white one with the basketsn I'm sure I would have taken both of those home.😉 I always pick up any type of shelf I find at a reasonable price. It doesn't matter about the color that can always be fixed. But I like having different wood tones or even White sometimes, so they match the frame of the picture is under or beside. I just love having them all around my home to put things on, whether it be decor or functional. The one with baskets would be perfect for the bathroom, a kitchen, or even a kids room! I put them under pictures a lot of times to set pieces on that go with the picture.. kind of like a vignette. Even the little small shelves that may only hold a figurine and one other piece. I really like that one you bought. The books with the buttons that make sounds, my kids and grandkids all had or have them. Super cute & can actually teach little things.. win-win! I have to tell you something crazy..The home we had in Tennessee for our recovery home was a huge, older, log house. This elderly couple that owned it in previous years had foster kids. I won't even go into all about the house, but it had five sheds outside and this huge Workshop room on the back of the house. Every one was packed with stuff! It would blow your mind some of the things we found!! I would say 75% was Christmas items, mostly vintage. We had to clean all those out and it took a long time! Most of the stuff went to the thrift store that we owned, but of course I got to keep pieces I wanted to keep.. and I tried not to keep a whole lot, I did good😁 LOL But in that Workshop there were four or five big boxes, like paper towels would come, in packed full of Hallmark ornaments! Most were in the original boxes, they had been used but put back in their box. But it was crazy all the Christmas stuff they had! They use to host a lot of dinners and functions in the county for Christmas all through November and December. There was three 12-ft Christmas trees!😳 And I've never seen so many Christmas dishes in my life🥴.. but nothing I wanted to keep nothing of any meaning to me. It really was so much fun cleaning those sheds out and finding all the things.. even little things that I wanted to keep. I'll say I found a lot of good treasures too tho!😉 I love that tree! It really is sweet, even cute for a child's room!🥹 I really like the ceramic wreath also! You really don't find things like that anymore..that's the way I felt about a lot of the things I found cleaning out those sheds. Oh yes, love the Santa on the cross stitch hoop!😮 I remember having pieces like that in late 80's to mid 90's! But its just A beautiful picture! The Disney piece is just precious!❤ You Had a nice little haul, loved all the pieces! Enjoyed the video G thanks for sharing! See you tomorrow..God bless!🙏🏻❤

It's really fun watching you get into the new things that you're into. It seems so natural, and it's so great you get to share it all with Claire.
Oh my goodness that music made me emotional too. I think it was waiting at the antique store for you to take it home and love it❤thank you so much for sharing🤗
