Good morning KC Farm! Wow what an undertaking all those chicks 🐥! Since there’s so many and obviously pasty butt can be detrimental to the chicks, putting Vaseline on as preventative would really help with ease of cleaning and preventing it from happening. HTH❤
You have such a good little lake for waterfowl... have you considered switching to duck meat from duck eggs? The breeders would still give you some duck eggs, but the meat would be the way they earn their keep. Toss a couple of Muscovy drakes in with your ducks, and you get well-growing "mule ducks" as their offspring😉 (Muscovies are to ducks like donkeys are to horses, despite the name "Muscovy duck" they are not actual ducks.) Cross-breeding your existing layer ducks to a heavier meat/Muscovy duck drake would be a quick way to test if raising meat ducks would work for you better than the duck eggs. Also, geese could be another waterfowl option, though they can be pretty scary during mating season... depending on the breed, they are nice outside of that - or not😅 Duck and geese liver should be pretty similar, you could get some pastured foie gras for your customers😁

Im using your brooder plan but at 1/2 the size. What is the ambient temp in brooder room. I dont have a heated place to secure them. Thanks.
Do u butcher the pigs for meat how is it if don’t mind askimg
We haven’t yet we take them to the butcher. Hopefully one day we will process some on the farm
