      E BO No, that doesn't follow- any more than Duncan should have went directly to the pros from high school. What follows is that it is not a great comparison to take an 18 yo and compare him to a college aged graduate. And this goes both ways, hard to compare Kobe to Duncan or Kobe to Duncan on a "what did he do in his first year basis?" There just worlds apart on where they started. How is there even a comparison jordan shot over 50 percent every year but one of his career minus the baseball comeback and the wizard years at plus 40, kobe Never did and most years did not even come close. I think there is an argument to be made that wade is the 2nd best shooting guard ever since he too averaged more blocks, steals, rebounds and assists per game and shot at a way higher percentage and wade has 3 rings. And btw Drexler averaged more rebounds assists steals and blocks per game too shooting at a way higher percentage than kobe did. If you dont believe me feel free to go look it up. Kobe is closer to wade and Drexler thsn he is to Jordan, I do like kobe as a man, he was real smart, spoke 3 or 4 languages, and seemed to be a Great father, and is horrible he died he was a great player but he was no where near MJ I am sorry he just was not and I know I am in the minority especially after his tragic death but I think theres a pretty good argument to be made that D Wade is the second greatest shooting guard of all time.

Remember, the Spurs landed Duncan because David Robinson got hurt like 6 games into the 96-97 season... he missed the rest of the year. They had some other injuries that year too. They were a playoff team out west. With Robinson now a little older, having Duncan was perfect. They were the twin towers. Then of course, they landed Manu and Parker. Duncan was great... he also landed with the ideal organization: competent. Think just how differently we'd perceive Timmy if he'd landed someplace like the Nets or the Clippers who's franchises had always been run poorly. Look at what happened with KG until he left: he can't win (even though we know you need more than one guy to win a title.)

      WIT THE Smoke most people aren’t wearing a centers sneaks, they aren’t as marketable that don’t mean one is better than the other

    • @themilkman4448
      @themilkman4448 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's due to Kobe being marketable and a showman in Los Angeles. Duncan's a quiet guy in San Antonio

    They both had great careers, love Kobe but I gotta go with Tim Duncan on this one

  • @dwannthomas9543
    @dwannthomas9543 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Easily Kobe. Tim had the luxury of having the same coach run the same system his entire career. Kobe had like 5 coaches and only won with Phil

      Go watch those Spurs teams, they didn't always use the same system like Phil Jackson's teams did, there was a huge difference from Duncan's first ring to his last, don't spread non sense pls

    Easily Tim Duncan. Far more awards, slightly greater team success, and a top 20 player for longer.

    Tim Duncan never had a losing record, never missed the playoffs this is really not a comparison. Duncan is top 5 all time imo.
