I so wish tangled was as hyped as frozen, don't get me wrong, frozen is amazingly good but this scene moves me to tears over how magical the lanterns look x
ConcertBlogger15 Frozen was a good movie, from what I remember. Great animation, a cool character, hilariously self-referential, but it didn’t have the same impact to me as Tangled, know what I mean?
Frozen was ok but tangled is definitely better for lots of reasons frozen was kind of stupid in the sense that you knew the ending before the actual ending were as in tangled it's kinda hard to tell how the story will end even if we already know that it ends happily because they always do
Frozen is not about boy/girl relationships... which other disney flicks were... i do find it cringy when there’s kissing... cant explain to my then very young daughter why they do that... frozen points out that happiness really does exist within the family... despite tribulations in life...
The way Eugene looked when Rapunzel showed him the satchel. His face looked like he didn’t care and blankly forgot about it, and he didn’t want it, he didn’t need it. His eyes and face during the whole scene just showed him he loved Rapunzel for not having magical hair, but for her. I need a man like that.
I love the way he looks at her while he's holding the lanterns...=) and did anyone notice the lantern that she rescues from the water is the one the king and queen released?
I never noticed that, its symbolism because they were hoping to find their lost princess and it wasn't truly until this scene that she was no longer lost or known to herself as the lost princess since she'd found the crown, because Eugene had found her and she was starting to fall in love with him right in this scene.
I love this song. It's absolutely beautiful! When I watched the movie for the first time, I kept replaying this scene because it's such a beautiful scene but also because of the song.
I remember when I first watched the movie (and I did love it from the start), this song seemed a bit incongruous and on-the-nose, even as it's also beautiful. It's extremely serious in a movie where most of the songs so far have a touch of humor, and it feels very produced - it doesn't sound like they're singing in that moment, it sounds like a recording. Maybe that's part of what got it criticized. But I think it ages well. The beauty of the moment justifies the seriousness and even the over-production kind of works if we figure they're not literally singing the words out loud, but the song is describing their feelings and what they're thinking to themselves in that moment.
I will say this. Out of most of the Disney couples Eugene and Rapunzel are probably one of the better ones. As the relationship is more built slowly and probably helps that they didn’t get married in this film. Btw probably the most impressive thing is the voice actors they never recorded their lines together. In fact Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi didn’t officially meet until they recorded this duet together.
1:40 Is the time they realized that they've fallen with each other. Rapunzel getting the courage to conquer her fears and doubts by saying she's not afraid anymore, while eugene starting to get scared for letting out his emotions, that's obviously love right there.
Ikr I feel in the last few years Tangled is getting the attention it deserves. Frozen really got all the hype because of Let It Go. I still love Frozen but Tangled is a masterpiece.
This scene is what ultimately made my decision on which one I liked more: Frozen or Tangled. Granted they're both great films, I enjoyed Tangled a bit more because of this one scene. It's heartwarming seeing Rapunzel finally getting her dream, romantic with her and Eugene seeing their feelings grow, and it's gorgeous! It makes you feel like you're on one of those boats with lanterns all around you and it never fails to make me cry.
It would be so cool if there was a ride at Disneyland where you're seated in a boat and you see all the lanterns. That would be absolutely beautiful. Don't you think?
Frozen got ruined by the inclusion of Olaf, I think he stole away the screen time that can be use to established Anna and Elsa sisterhood and he ruin some of the scene that suppose to be emotional and also the removal of “life’s to short” that make Elsa and Anna sisterhood more grounded.
I'm so happy that I'm not the only one that agrees that Tangled is SSSSOOOO much better than Frozen.. In my opinion, one of the reasons is, is because Flynn/Eugene is the HOTTEST person I've ever seen, and he fits SSSSOOOO well with Rapunzel
i dont get how this song is not as popular as "let it go"? I personally think this song is better. This part was this best part when i went to go watch disney on ice.
+Im.So.Khou The whole movie is way better than Frozen. For whatever reason they just marketed the hell out of Frozen in ways they didn't do for Tangled.
+Im.So.Khou Tangled is by far the better film, mainly because there are far fewer loose ends and unanswered questions. But 'Let It Go' is the better song, even though I like this one a lot too. Apples/oranges, really.
There isn't enough appreciation for how Eugene spent the whole time just watching Rapunzel place flowers in the water while they were waiting for the lanterns to be released. The way he looks only at her while holding the flowers for her makes my heart just turn into mush 💕💕💕
It’s taken me 12 years to realise that at 1:20, Rapunzel doesn’t turn round because Eugene says something. She completes her dream and that’s the exact point she realises she’s done it. And what’s next on her mind after completing her lifelong dream? Eugene.
***** no no, after Mother Gothel took the satchel and gave it to Rapunzel when she met her in the forest. I wonder where Rapunzel kept the satchel while she and Flynn went to the kingdom
This honestly is my favorite scene ever in a movie! The song is sweet and quiet, the lighting is warm, the scenery is gorgeous, and these two are the best Disney couple. As much as I loved Frozen when I first watched it, I can feel myself beginning to love this movie more. The effort in it is amazing, and it is a fairytale. Perfection at its best. ❤❤
Maybe it's because I didn't necessarily grow up with The Little Mermaid. Although I did see it before Tangled. But in my opinion, this scene is way more beautiful than the Kiss the Girl scene in The Little Mermaid. The lighting is much warmer, the song is quieter and sweeter, and the song is sung as a duet by the two main characters falling in love which I think is much more romantic. It's just an all around better scene in my opinion.
Kristy Frost little mermaid is my favorite movie ever, but this one’s a close second. I grew up obsessed w the little mermaid and has a special place in my heart, but this movie is just one of the most beautiful and real disney films in my opinion. So so so so so underrated.
Should have started this in the scene right before, where the mother and father is getting ready to go out and meet the crowd. How the father still cries for his missing daughter after so many years really was a sad and moving moment that I didn't expect from this movie...
I can’t for the life of me understand how Frozen is as popular as it is. This film’s story, music, and characters are leagues above Frozen. Nothing in Frozen can top this single scene.

He made prior preparations- took her on a boat too see the lanterns clearly without any disturbance, surprised her by bringing lanterns for them. And oh, the way he looks at her after releasing the lanterns 😩 he is in love and he can't contain it in anymore so he holds her hands 🤧 Eugene is the dreamiest prince! PS. 1:12 Pascal is not smiling at the floating lanterns, but he is looking at the lanterns Eugene bought to surprise Rapunzel.
It's my favourite cartoon of all times. Keep watching it over and over. And evertime I watch as it's my first time. This scene always makes me cry and keep believing that one day I'll find my true love like Rapunzel.
This is honestly the most romantic scene I've ever seen in a movie, I can't even describe why, it's just the only word I can think about whenever i watch it, romantic
tangled taught me two things. rapunzel taught me that once you’re out of your comfort zone, your life will truly begin. and eugene taught me that although no one is perfect, being yourself is the most perfect thing you can be. this is the only movie that has ever really moved me. because of this movie, i’ve started to not care what people think. i just do what i feel like doing. because in reality, no one can tell me otherwise. all because of this movie, i’m doing everything i’ve ever wanted to do. instead of sitting behind and getting caught up in dreams, i’ve started to fulfill them. all because of this movie. all because i saw an animated character fulfill her dream and fall in love. all because i saw animated characters life be completely changed by simple little things. all because of a little animated movie
When he grabs her hand... 😂😍😂😍 Just that moment. This whole scene. The transition of Flynn/Eugene's character. 😂 I love Frozen as well, but of the two, I'm definitely all Tangled! ❤ Partly, because Rapunzel and Eugene are one of my top two favorite Disney couples. 😍
Red Ruby Yes me too!! I love Tangled so much! and I definitely think that Rapunzel is the Hottest/most beautiful princess, and Eugene the Hottest Prince. They are my favourite couple ! they make me so happy! I watch Tangled everyday i just don’t get tired of it! and I’m not ashamed of that.
Even when I was younger this scene made me tear up, it’s just beautiful. Each lantern in the sky with the music is amazing. One of my favorite Disney Princesses movie of all time.
tangled is my favorite Disney move. Hands down. No competition. But this scene really takes the cake. I love the mushy love, the romance, the emotion, it HEALS me. Nothing can top this masterpiece imo
I bought the Blue Ray version 2 years ago and casually watched it once.Three weeks ago I watched it again and I was completely blown away by the magic of this scene. The music, background and the lyrics of 'I See The Light'…it is what romance is all about..and only Disney can come up with such magical moments!
The lanterns that they’re both holding and release together also stick together in the crowd full of the other lanterns and I think that also represents Rapunzel and Eugene’s relationship which shows they’ll always be together no matter what.
I always thought this scene was beautiful one of the most beautiful scenes that Disney has ever made . But just now watching this scene after 11 years is it ? It brought me to tears maybe it's just me not being a child anymore or something else . But Rapunzel seein the lanterns knowing her dream came true after all those years . It just moves you . And once her dream was fullfilled she turned around to see another dream and that was Flynn .. it's just magical .. she was locked away 18 years in a tower and now she felt free .. it will forever be my favorite Disney movie and Rapunzel will forever be my favorite Disney princess
This movie needs a sequel. It's so well rwighten and the charecters are wonderfull. Something like Rapunzel trying to adjust to the royall traditions of being a princess while still making time for adventures.
probably one of the most beautiful scenes i've ever seen in a disney movie
it seriously is.

tangled taught me two things. rapunzel taught me that once you’re out of your comfort zone, your life will truly begin. and eugene taught me that although no one is perfect, being yourself is the most perfect thing you can be. this is the only movie that has ever really moved me. because of this movie, i’ve started to not care what people think. i just do what i feel like doing. because in reality, no one can tell me otherwise. all because of this movie, i’m doing everything i’ve ever wanted to do. instead of sitting behind and getting caught up in dreams, i’ve started to fulfill them. all because of this movie. all because i saw an animated character fulfill her dream and fall in love. all because i saw animated characters life be completely changed by simple little things. all because of a little animated movie
I hope you achieve your dreams. Good Luck!!!
this scene gives me feels everytime. my favorite from disney
When he grabs her hand... 😂😍😂😍
Just that moment. This whole scene. The transition of Flynn/Eugene's character. 😂
I love Frozen as well, but of the two, I'm definitely all Tangled! ❤
Partly, because Rapunzel and Eugene are one of my top two favorite Disney couples.
Because of this scene, I'm going to have lanterns at my wedding :)
This is my favorite Disney song, just lovely.
this makes me cry all the time 😭
What Breaks Me is the fact that those Lanterns were all Launched into the Sky for her. To find her path back home. And She Did...
This scene is the reason why tangled is my favourite Disney movie
I've said it before and I'll say it again- this is one of the most romantic scenes in cinema.
i am eighteen, i loved this film as a kid, and it is STILL SO ROMANTIC WTf
Big props to the artists, the look in her eyes when she sees the lanterns for the first time is top-notch.
This is one of the most romantic Disney love scene and one of the best couples❤
I love this so much more than Frozen ;3
Her voice is so angelic I can’t 😍😍😍
THIS WILL ALWAYS BE ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES IN THE HISTORY OF DISNEY
Its been 8 years and Tangled film still amaze me and i want to watch it again
I want a Eugene Fitzerbert/Flynn Rider in my life! *cries while watching the scene*
Highly underrated movie. Such am amazing love song and so original for the love scene! Beautifully done.
I love this movie..and also the song..
so romantic
This gives me goosebumps and called me single in different disney movies.
tangled is more way better than frozen
Abe Mint i think they are two different stories and can't be compared with two different messages but they are absolutely amazing i love them both
babydoll claire actually it's a good point and you're very truee btw i got excited when there's a part where flyn and rapunzel showed up in Frozen
I bought the Blue Ray version 2 years ago and casually watched it once.Three weeks ago I watched it again and I was completely blown away by the magic of this scene. The music, background and the lyrics of 'I See The Light'…it is what romance is all about..and only Disney can come up with such magical moments!
Everyone is talking about the scene and lanterns...but what about their singing! Wow!
I love the movie, the actors, the music, even the plot. All combine and create a beautiful tale that is very inspiring
And once her dream was fullfilled she turned around to see another dream and that was Flynn .. it's just magical .. she was locked away 18 years in a tower and now she felt free .. it will forever be my favorite Disney movie and Rapunzel will forever be my favorite Disney princess
i cried so hard watching this scene
This movie needs a sequel. It's so well rwighten and the charecters are wonderfull. Something like Rapunzel trying to adjust to the royall traditions of being a princess while still making time for adventures.
