I have hope in Gunn. He has a great track record. Besides, this movie will probably be successful even if it doesn't make close to a billion. I think the film will have a lower budget than most CBMs nowadays. Besides, they're filming on location, so that will lower the budget by a decent amount (and should make the film look better).

Unfortunately a good cast won’t completely make up for terrible writing. And that is usually the problem with movies now.

Not true. Remember, most of the MCU cast were nobodys before joining Marvel. Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, etc. Just because they're not big names doesn't make them bad actors. Everyone needs their big break.

@Deuceblank But look at Austin Butler. He is a phenomenal actor but was a nobody before being cast as Elvis. Sure, he was in one episode of Arrow and Aliens in the Attic, but nothing big. Or Milly Alcock (the new Supergirl) she's a great actress (as proven in GOT: HOTD) but was also a nobody before that. Plus, Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Isabela Merced (Alien: Romulus, The Last of Us), Anthony Carrigan (Barry, multiple DC roles), and Nicholas Hoult (X-Men, Mad Max) are fairly popular. Not huge names yet, but about as popular as Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth were pre-MCU.
