5:42 - I personally think that daily walking is the equalizer when it comes to cutting. My favorite is a mix of max incline treadmill not holding on and outdoor walks. 1) Since you're burning more cals through increased activity, it allows you to consume more food and get more macro/micro nutrients. 2) It's low stress with very minimal recovery cost and it helps reduce ghrelin/stabilize hunger cues. 3) It speeds up recovery from lifting sessions which is important when trying to maintain lifting intensity and frequency in a calorie deficit.
Yep... and it really increases both cardio and vascular health and keeps the body limber and loose which supports and increases resistance training ability -- daily walking is so under-rated and yet so beneficial to physical and mental health. Your post should be shown in/on all media platforms on a daily basis.
Cosign. Once you know you have your daily eating on maintenance, let the step count(or incline walking as you do) split the difference. It's also great for mental health.
@andrewchiu6226 - It's funny because the incline walking is only 30 min 3x per week on days I don't lift. It's mainly for recovery/extra circulation. I also believe it is important to get into zone 2-3 for vo2 max to keep lifting performance up. But my main bread/butter is walking outside 7 days per week spread over throughout the day. I've found that one long walk and several mini walks sprinkled in works well.

Great video. You can tell Jason is just locked in to everything Arnold is telling him. Even with all his success, he’s nothing but humble when next to the greatest bodybuilder of all time, and the man who (in my opinion) had the most aesthetic physique of all time
I agree with Travie switching to band workouts really made a huge difference in my joint health and energy levels its far less taxing in the body. I'm 49 and looking maintain as much energy as possible. I agree with Arnie on diet its not a one size fits all approach. I was a vegan when I was younger and it stopped.working for me now I'm better on keto
Arnold transcended Bodybuilding, Hollywood, & life. He is the reason that the general public goes to gyms today. This was due to the phenomenon of the Pumping Iron documentary.
@5:48 Arnold had that same look when him and Mike o’hearn ran into Michael Bisping, O’hearn was sorta messing around, but you could see he was seriously listening to whatever the goal was going to be. Yeah, Arnold likes to have fun, but he still takes this shit seriously.
So true. so many 35 and youngers constantly doing splits or body part days severely reducing their progress and may eventually look good but will be weak as hell. You should do 3 day full body for at least 2 years and get every drop of strength out of your noob gains before all that extra stuff. curls are a lot more effective with 80lbers than 10lbers
I think a lot more has to be done in formative years for so many different things, but also there needs to be great care not to go overboard with ambition and become injured. I think we don't do enough careful training in formative years, within all areas of life, from academics to athleticism, and at the same time I think competitiveness and malcontent is out of control and leads to too many injuries today.
...so, in other words, embrace and enjoy the journey because you'll spend most of your life in it. Reaching the destination is great too, but not where most of life is lived... Yeah?
@@williambiagi1386 ummm, well, basically, I think that we should expand training(academic/athletics) in formative years, but for the years 14-18(which are less formative), in athleticism, we should apply the brakes to competitiveness and malcontent. Protein each day should be 1gram per pound of your goal lean body mass, not current total body weight. For a man 295lbs, he wants to be 250lbs. At a healthy 15% body fat level, you take away 15% fat from 250 lbs and you get 212.5lbs lean body mass. So around 210-215grams of protein is all he needs
