I used to work in an auto parts warehouse. I could see then how many of our jobs could be automated, although it would require changes in how items were packaged. It was back breaking work for humans, and by the time I left, I had many joint problems. I am doing better now. Robots could have handled heavy workloads over long hours without injuries or calling off sick.

That funny orange coloured robot could easily replace the human sitting at the cash register as most things have barcode and only some needs a weight check.
Climbing shelves..... That calls for checking the gods before given to the robots. Futuristic but fun. Like drone delivery that has not been any great success yet.
Lots of fun. Floor moving robots were built almost 40 years ago. The dairy market was the target. Safety and obstacle (humans) avoiding was important. Asking how the robots act on a floor wet from leaking cream or milk I didn't get the designers job.... Worked 7 years in such a place....

more likely that some form of UBI would be passed, gov can just tax the companies more for having robots. that money will feed into UBI, which will be spent near instantly by the people which gets taxed again.
this direction isn't bad either, it will push more people to get better education...which the world desperately needs. having human's working dumb labor is a detriment to society on so many levels. so much wasted potential, just for being born into the wrong family/area/time.

One box? That's one pallet. Looks like u've never actually worked in a warehouse before. Even a forklift lifts 1 pallet at a time similar to the robot. Name me a forklift that can lift 2 pallets at a time. This is literally more efficient, ure able to get a few robots on the same shelf and the same column with different levels at the same time. Meanwhile, u cant park 3 different forklifts at the same position at the same time to retrieve from different levels. Bye.
