My biggest tip with unlocking Orochi X is have fun with it, remember why you play games to begin with. If you're tired of ramming your head against Itsukushia don't be afraid to just play through story mode some more, or dream mode stages, don't just play it to grind play it because you enjoy playing it or you're gonna get burnt out
Absolutely, 100% agree with you. I think if I wasn’t trying to unlock Orochi X within a bit of a timeframe for the channel, I would have mixed it up by going through the story modes a few more times etc
I remember getting him as a Kid, and once I maxed him out feeling really let down, I really wish he learn any more moves, the Original Orochi is way more fun.
Unlocking Orochi X is a path many have failed but those who did are considerd a *worthy foe*
It's more tedious than anything else, specially if you want to play optimally (Repeating the same stage over and over)

The proficiency is the worst part of this whole grinds. I remember doing this not too long ago I used similar method. I also upgrade weapon with the ability to trigger your element with all attacks while having full musou. it make things a lot easier.

So, I was super close to unlocking Orochi X only had about 14 more characters to get to level 99 and proficiency up too 30 but then my memory card accidentally got throw out and lost for good.... I don't know if I want to bother the Redo of this game and Dynasty Warriors 3 again...

Maybe just sit down with a different warriors game for a little bit until you feel ready to undertake this behemoth of a task again 🤞🏼
@@KoeiKollection I ended up buying a memory card online that had a complete save file of Warriors Orochi 2 doesn't have Orochi X unlocked yet but they had all the dream mode stages unlocked, which for my original save I only had a few characters too go with the whole proficiency thing to get my last dream mode stage unlocked.
Only thing is this save didn't have everyones 4th weapons so I'm going to re grind that before I start doing these dream mode stages
I unlocked Orochi X on PSP version of WO2 but I realised its a lot easier on PSP than all other versions & became sad
So to get orochi x all you really need to do is...
Beat the story (all chapter on any difficulty)
Get all treasures
Max out both lvls and proficiency of most of the cast
Beat all dream stages
I'd love to do this one day, but of course have no ways too. I have the game on PSP, but no working PSP, and unsure if I even have the memory stick with my data on lol. So more likely would have to start over, which can be fun, but how long would that last.
Currently doing this right now while also maxing out everyone's level, proficiency and weapon upgrades. Keiji is my favorite character so I used him exclusively for weapon grinding as well as beating all story mode missions in all difficulties. I have Sun Jian as well for the brief unlimited Musou he gives while I leave the 3rd slot for random characters. Dunno which one to pick that would synergize with my current team.
Just got this game on psp. Challenge accepted.

Thanks for letting us know that there is no need to clear all difficulties of the Dream Modes...I might have made the same mistake...After all,why can't the developers make the most powerful or popular character the most difficult character to unlock?Look at Lü Bu's personal item in Warriors Orochi 1...I have to resort to using cheat after failing so many times orz
I'd say it's the red hare quest in dw6 which takes the cake
Also, which version of the game are you playing to have wo2 in English? Is it the psp one or the ps2 one?
Edit : saw the buttons ingame and found it was the x360 version

Yep! Unfortunately it is, you need to collect all treasures in order to unlock a dream mode stage

Hey, nah I captured all of my footage on Xbox 360
you can emulate it on a ps2 emulator and play it on pc. works just fine.

Ive just watch a quarter of the video but, yeah... i dont remember it being that difficult? (Maybe because i have insane amount of time when i was a kid?) But im not sure about the current me

Which grind is longest?
Unlocking Orochi X in WO2 or unlocking Red Hare in DW6?
Hmmm that’s hard to say, I think overall just with sheer length Orochi X is longer for sure, but because the Red Hare DW6 is based on luck/RNG, there’s really no set time that the grind could be, so it could end up being longer or shorter
