@bilcarpenter1591 I wish I had a time machine I would never leave the 80's. Saw the Jones girls in 81 and it was everything. I had chills the entire time especially when they would harmonize because it was other worldly. Imo they are the greatest girl group of all time.❤
As the curtain closes on my life, I can’t help but marvel at the glorious age I lived through; keep sharing more of these classics and continue preserving our history.
I listen to these girls more now than I did back in the 80's. I think as a kid back then I didn't really realize we had it so good music wise. When I saw The Jones Girls in concert I was mesmerized. I didn't want them to stop. They're definitely my favorite female group of all time. Keep it coming Shirley. We miss Brenda and Valerie ❤️🙏
Can we please talk about those outfits. These ladies are clean I mean dressed to the nines. Glamorous, beautiful and talented. Listen to those vocals. Classy and elegant ❤❤❤. They don’t make them like this anymore.❤❤❤❤
The Jones Girls are so beautiful. The late Brother Don Cornelius even agrees that our queens are so beautiful. Val and Brenda will be so missed but Shirley is still around. Big up to you Brother Ken Gamble and Brother Leon Huff.
Hearing this outrageously beautiful song from my wonderful childhood. I gotta thank the father above for keeping me this long and having the best time of my life. Thank you, for letting me meet some of the most amazing people who gave me indelible memories of yesterday❤
Such classy, talented, and beautiful women. They didn't need any props or dress provocative to sing. The Jones Girls will always be a class act. RIP Brenda and RIP Valorie Jones.
These beautiful chocolate sister's could chirp! You can hear that philly sound. Saw them perform live with Peabo Bryson they brought the house down! RIP Valorie and Brenda. Who's still listening until the end of time? Be safe everybody!🙏
I’m so blessed and thankful for being a 70’s baby! The natural beauty and talent from the 70’s and 80’s were impeccable!! I will forever cherish those days and the music we were blessed with!! 👍🏽❤️🙏🏽
I'm so jealous of these times, even though I lived through this magnificent period; the thing is that I want it all to come back again.. But thankfully we still have the music of that time, the memories and these video recordings to keep us going..
Their version of this song is beautiful from The Jones Girls. They have Great voices as great as the legendary Stylistics. Soul Music is timeless and fantastic. ❤❤❤
I’m gonna cry. This song literally had me stuck when I first heard it. I’m only 28 so I can only have so much appreciation for their songs but when I say their music was and still is amazing. You’re gonna get about 1000 views from me alone just cause I’m gonna be rewatching this 😂🫣
Yes, the original was recorded by “The Stylistics”. Both groups did a wonderful job in their own style. The stylistics did it 1st in the 70’s & the Jones Girls re-recorded it in the 80’s. Both groups were produced by Kenneth Gamble & Leon Huff of Philadelphia international records.
At that time The Stylistics were produced by Thom Bell for Avco records. Gamble & Huff did produce an album for them, but it was much later.@@jojodancer0072
We as a people certainly made our mark on this industry...no other culture/race has surpassed us. I now realize why the motion picture industry kept us from acting.
The Jones Girls are extraordinary singers. Saw them live and I was amazed how they're harmonies were so angelic like. They are my favorite girl group of all time.

What a beautiful remake; it can stand on its' own. The original by the Stylistics is a classic, but this is so, so beautiful. A crime this didn't get any airplay!!😉😉😉😉

@@jaylene.turner6524 Not exactly. On the third album, Airrion Love opened with; "You make me feel brand new". Tommy also did the same with the Delfonics background album recorded at Cameo-Parkway future site of Philly Intl. 309 South Broad, before Sigma was opened. Once Sigma opened you can really hear Bell, Sigler etc., on Thom Bell produced Delfonic songs. Children of the night, by the Stylistics may be my favorite Philly song because of the instrumental part.
