So one time the fantastic four lost all their money (i can't remember how) and had to take up "real people" jobs to make ends meet. Ben started working on a construction site, Johnny failed at everything, i can't remember what reed did, and Sue became a teacher. In her first lesson, someone threw something at her because students are a rowdy bunch. It bounced of a force field, and she turned around and told the class that if anyone tried anything dumb like that again she'd make all of their clothes invisible for the rest of the lesson. She has weaponised _embarrassment._ Also also, during the time the fantastic four were the Future Foundation, they had to gather a load of F4 villains to fight 3 rejects from the council of Reeds. Spiderman (he was part of the f4 at that point) asked her why she wasn't worried about all the villains being in her home. She replied "Because i have personally kicked all of their asses, and they know i can do it again." Truly Vegeta levels of hype.
I love when comic book characters get vague elemental powers. Then geeky readers help the writers make the characters more over powered by realizing how strong those elemental powers actually are.
@somebody754 yeah, it is a must watch before you even think about watching the boys season 4 it's not that you have to watch it in order to get everything that happens in the new season but it is very much worth it. Plus season 2 of that show is probably going to come out next year
ofDani@@ProfDanielVargas I'd make a joke specifically about female characters who have a power that allows them to explode people's body parts but that wouldn't really be the real reason why I said perfect timing was because I had been thinking about the Fantastic Four as well as The Incredibles from a writing standpoint for an animation project that I'm working on. I'm in the throes of getting the script together for my characters and they all have interactions similar to The Fantastic 4 and The Incredibles teams.
@@thewhitewolf58 I agree. But because of how famous that small team is I think most of my sang She's underappreciated comes from the last couple of years of company shenanigans
If I recall correctly the FF started as adventurers because at the time they came out superheroes were looked down upon. So they were a lot in regular clothes and the superpowers were more a byproduct that came in handy when they went exploring the negative zone and such.
The Fantastic four aren't Superheroes in the actively saving people sense they do their thing and stuff happens around them, Spidey actively looks for crime, the Avengers face world ending threats everyday the Fantastic four step in because they happen to be there
yep, that's one of the things that separated marvel from DC. when it came to DC comics, most of DC heroes are crime fighters, while most of marvel heroes are more niche with only a few of them really dealing with the "low tier" dangers...
When the 05 fantastic four came out, I was obsessed with it. I remember seeing it in our local cinema. My following birthday my uncle made me a bootleg copy with the cover art for the first F4 comic on the box. I still have the dvd case, and maybe I’ll still find the dvd one day. Edit: they are together again.
There's a comic where Wolverine is mind-controlled by Hydra and infiltrates the headquarters of the Fantastic Four. He easily handles the other three but admits Invisible Woman is the only one that terrifies him.
Karl, where are you getting the bit about Reed refusing to admit Doom is smarter than him to cure the Thing? I've never heard of this and it doesn't sound like Reed, at all... usually he's the one who doesn't care about who's called the smartest (which makes Doom even more angry at him). It can't possibly be the regular Reed Richards, maybe some alternate version?
the book series "Super Powereds" does a great job with "use powers in unique ways". there is a guy who has complete control over his body, which seems like a lame power till he grows a super dense bone armor
My Hero explains her power weakness with Mirio Togata (he cannot see when intangible cause light cannot touch his eyes) and Toru Hagakure (invisible girl but clothes are seen)
I didn't know that Lucas had been cast as a mortician in a cable tv show. JK it's just that the lighting is similar due to the blue screen. Makes him seem a bit paler.
@wikiweekends awesome year before I was born thank you if y'all haven't seen it there's a old TH-cam video called the flying man I think it's pretty good would have been awesome to see a full-on movie of it

"I can make you and your classmates clothing disappear for an hour or two"
"What do you mean fired?"
@kos2919 yeah, I wondered about that too. Because you just know somebody would want to poke that bear and damn the consequences.

After reading that title I'm imagining a character like Victoria Neuman, except instead of popping heads, they target something else...
Spoiler for Gen V on Amazon that exact thing happens
@@TheArtofKASOh, I haven't watched it yet! I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, as it is The Boys universe we're talking about.

Perfect timing. Sue is definitely an under appreciated character. And that title is perfect 🤣
Why the "perfect timing" though?

@@ProfDanielVargas also it was a fun discussion about one of my favorite characters in comic books
To be fair she is a pretty female character that functions mostly in a small team.
@@thewhitewolf58 I agree. But because of how famous that small team is I think most of my sang She's underappreciated comes from the last couple of years of company shenanigans
So you’re telling me she can perform sounding without any supplies?
Can you imagine being Sue Storm and having to deal with a Rubber Band, an Electrified Sheet of Metal and a fricking Fish dragging you everywhere
the Thing had his own series for quite a while, it makes sense that he has more nicknames than Invisible Woman who's always been in a team.
She did have her own series. For six issues in the 2010s

I've always maintained that Sue should've been renamed to Miss Marvel.
Mr Fantastic & Ms Marvel
Nice hair, Lucas. Well done, mate.
There's a comic where Wolverine is mind-controlled by Hydra and infiltrates the headquarters of the Fantastic Four. He easily handles the other three but admits Invisible Woman is the only one that terrifies him.
32:20 Punisher
"Smell that, Mickey? I'm burning off some of your fat."
Mickey, 30 seconds later: "Yer not a nice person..."
The best Fantastic Four movie was "The Incredibles."
That Punisher scene is one of my favorite movie scenes of all time.
Sue storm is an underrated powerhouse in marvel
You really don’t think Reid Richards can make his own stretchy clothes
the venom thing is probably because of the recent mass crossover events with the Venom King In Black event, and almost everyone on earth gets a suit.

My favourite is Silver Surfer and Sky-rider of the Spacewaves what a band name that is
the book series "Super Powereds" does a great job with "use powers in unique ways". there is a guy who has complete control over his body, which seems like a lame power till he grows a super dense bone armor
He reared back and Punched!
I might go check out his site.
Shes basically if Carrie grew up
My Hero explains her power weakness with Mirio Togata (he cannot see when intangible cause light cannot touch his eyes) and Toru Hagakure (invisible girl but clothes are seen)
Yeah, all the Fantastic 4 characters are a lot more powerful than you'd expect
Jimmy Grimm was actually played by Chet Hanks in Fant4stic so we have him to thank for it’s clobberin time
the funny thing is that while he may hate Reed, Doom actually mostly remains respectful to Sue.
Maybe he thought the same way as Karl and doesn't want his lil doom shroom exploded.
OK, someone's gotta do the Fantastic 15 now.
So she can lift people up and explode them with her mind? She can literally do that move Frieza used to kill Krillin.
27:57 To be fair, that's kind of how it feels to be an American now.
I didn't know that Lucas had been cast as a mortician in a cable tv show. JK it's just that the lighting is similar due to the blue screen. Makes him seem a bit paler.
To be fair it feels like movies or hbo do beat you to death with that blue filter.
How exactly do I find that movie was it titled I need to watch that one
I just put Fantastic Four 1994 into TH-cam and the full version was there 😅
- Lucas

Explosion discussion starts like at 36:50. Wasn't what I expected based on the click bait title. Kind of disappointed tbh.
