I still have the supervision and im still trying to collect everything i can get. My parents didn't have a lot of money so i had that handheld. I have a lot of great memories with this handheld.
I had The Sega Nomad. You want to talk about a beast? It took like 12 batteries and still would die in like an hour. But it was awesome. Play Genesis (MegaDrive) games on the go.
Oh, it totally was lol. Just get an Anbernic device, you can play all Gameboy games at higher res and without the blurring screen. Some of the games are actually really good for old school stuff
When I was in elementary school a classmate had the supervision with the pack-in game crystaball (an arkanoid clone). I had recently tryed arkanoid 2 for dos, and the thought of having something similar to play on the go fascinated me. Over here in Argentina it was imported / assembled by Electrolab, a very well known famiclone brand.
The shmup was cool. What cartridge was that on? WS it a hidden game? It’s worth having the supervision just because it’s part of gaming history. Nice find!!

I worked in a computer game shop in the late 80s early 90s. I remember these things, we had a few in yet didn't sell many. I remember the model we had would bend as had a hinge in the middle of the unit. (I had a Gameboy myself and a MK1 Atari Lynx back then, the Atari was a brilliant machine yet let down by the amount of games available)
As another poster has pointed out that tetris rip off also rips off the music from super Mario land on the gb as well. It speeds up and loops the first few bars of music from that game. The watara supervision was a favourite of Violet Berlin (Co host of a videogame show bad influence) who praised it as a cheaper alternative to the gb at the time.

Now I have a GBA SP for playing GB and GBA games. I also now have an evercade [ a great affordable modern handheld that takes carts], highly recommend it.

The High Cross game is an almost direct one to one clone of Motocross on the Gameboy. I’ve never been able to get past the first level on that game, since you have to balance the front and back tire independently to get anywhere, or else you’re flipping worse than the NES version of Excitebike.
I had a Game Gear solely for the TV Tuner add on it had and felt like such a badass taking it to school to show off. Then Mike Carbajal brought in one of those pocket TV things that Sony sold and everyone was up his ass. I'm still salty. Lol good times.
