The 80's were beautiful.... Just the rhythms, fantastic. Rest in peace you guys. Original kalindula music from the mulemena boys. Beautiful memories of yesteryear. Simply the best.
Gertrud Kanu, point of correction. This song was produced after Emmanuel Mulemena had already died. This was solely a production of the Mulemena Boys trying to carry forward the legacy. You can sense the difference in the approach from the previously Emmanuel Mulemena beat to the newer Mulemena Boys beat. Just wanted to bring to your attention. Good dig though.
I tried to find out more about the Mulemena Boys on Google, but there is no information there. Can anyone share accurate information with those who remember this band (these bands?) with pleasure.
Zambian youth should ditch their computers and learn how to play instruments like this. In the DR Congo, greats like Simaro Lutumba and training the youth start playing guitars, drums, and saxophones like the greats of yesteryear.
