501ST JOURNAL The Battle of Christophosis “Betrayal and Victory” After General Skywalker broke through the naval blockade by Admiral Trench, the 501st linked up with General Kenobi and the 212th planet side and started taking back the planet of Christophosis. What none of us expected was that the droids seemed to be one step of us. We all had our suspicions but we weren’t prepared for the truth. After the arrest of the traitor and the timely arrival of reinforcements by General Yoda, the Republic won the battle. But we didn’t have time for rest yet. We received new orders: To head to the planet Teth and rescue the son of crime lord Jabba the Hutt. This was a mission none of us were looking forward to.
I remember being so confused by that one Clone Wars episode from the first season, the one about the Clone traitor (Slick was his name I think) that was working for Ventress, and giving info to the Separatists. And I thought that was a totally separate battle on Christophsis I didn't know that it was supposed to be like a precursor to the battle shown in TCW the movie lol.
So at the end of the battle, the nobles lost everything. Honestly, this was a blessing in disguise. They were so oppressive and snobby, they needed to be brought down from the pedestal. Somebody who would willingly leave so many others to die, especially those who have served them, doesn’t deserve what luxuries and riches they have. They need to be taught a lesson in seeing things through the eyes of those they’ve artificially placed below them.
Did the republic or even the jedi demand that Christophis become a democratic government or did the oppressed masses rise up and decapitated their cowardly overlords?
In truth the Battle could have been truly devastating to the Republic early in the war, and no doubt that Palpatine needed the Republic to hold the planet to secure their territory and the mining resources of the planet. The CIS was very eager to take the resources of the planet and used its location for its hyperspace lanes.
It's pretty cool how the christophians that were left to die by the cowardly nobles were determined to fight to the bitter end for their home, despite being slaves on the planet.
Something to remember is that the episodes set before the movie where originally the first episodes of the series with the movie being made from the episodes that ended the arc and the entire Hutt kidnapping arc almost on a whim from Lucas.
According to my calculations, there were over 13.000.000 battledroids on christophsis and thousands of AATs. Sometimes i wonder why we dont see local militias more present in fights during the show.
True, it's almost unbelievable how incredibly vulnerable so many planets are in the star wars galaxy, even on worlds with populations in the billions yet these governments of their respective planets can't seem to spare a few lousy credits for standing militaries or defense forces? Heck investment in atleast some orbital defense platforms you would think be standard practice for most settled worlds so as to better control ships passing through space ports but nope! Almost ever one of them are so completely vulnerable to the point were even mere space pirates can pose a serious threat to planets that should have the economic and industrial capacities for fielding armies that would absolutely dwarf all our Earth's modern militaries combined!
@@navilluscire2567 indeed, in legends you would see planets like Duro, Jabiim, Balmorra and Kashyyk heavily defended and guarded by local militias, but it seems that in canon they think that clones were the main infantry unit, which they weren't, they were shock troopers, sent to support planetary forces that couldn't hold back the separatists.
Christopsis has to be one of my favorite planets, and it baffles me that we know of what happened to it after the clone wars, the Galactic civil war or the FO-New Republic war.
I still find it cool and kinda confusing how some episodes that come later take place in certain battles or part of the arc of a battle or something like that in then clone wars series. Still wish we had more of season 7 though.
Naming a battleship "Negotiator" can't possibly inspire confidence in your good faith if negotiations actually happen. But then that's pretty appropriate for Kenobi, isn't it?
Hello from France 🇫🇷 !!! Excellent video, I didn’t know much about this battle, thank you for your work ! Could you make a video about wich galactic empire was the most tyrannic in Star Wars History. Was the Empire of Sidious the most tyrannic or were there other empires from the past or in the future that are way more violent and racist against aliens ?
The only thing I remember it for was that one clone who decided that he was going to Mike Tyson that B1. I appreciate the effort but I'm not sure that punching someone with a metal face was such a good idea. I shall call that clone "Punch-out".
I was really hoping christophsis would be a map for supremacy and galactic assault on Battlefront 2, but sadly was only mentioned in one line from Anakin
I highly doubt the Christophans, after being abandoned by their nobles and left to die, let the same nobles back to rule the planet again, especially as the nobles had lost all of their wealth and influence... there was probably some sort of revolution immediately after the Republic forces had left.
13:26: Typical, the fleshy parts are in the side material. Again, the Battle of Honoghr featuring Aayla Secura and Commander Bly. Yes, the battle that caused its denaturization all the way to the post-Galactic Civil War era of the Thrawn trilogy, although the trilogy itself showed a way too different timeline and series of events. Might need a rewrite because of that.
Definitely one of the more unique looking planets of the Star Wars galaxy and one I hope to see revisited. The world of Christophis also has such an interesting history, settled only around 700 years BBY making it one of the youngest developing civilizations in the galaxy (their ancestry prior to colonization not withstanding) not to mention the history of its founding is also pretty interesting! Though I do hope that if and when its explored again we get to see it in a new vision, with varied crystalline landscapes (crystal forests, big caves, giant geodes, gemstone plains and etc.), oh and maybe more densely packed urban centers? (didn't really like how spread out the buildings were in The Clone Wars TV series)
Can we talk about the Clone who punched a B1 before the pain got him killed and Cody roundhouse kicking another with no problems? That's some serious double standards there

Have to admit the fake surrender kenobi did really shows a darker side to his character. It basically permanently removes surrender as an option for kenobi ever again, as surrender requires trust. That's why it's a war crime. Good thing he's competent, otherwise many many men would have died needlessly as a result. For that, Kenobi is very lucky.
Christophosis is quite an unique world with a crystal like appearance on it's surface and usage for city buildings. I would've love to see another world like Christophosis having another crystal like setting but with even more colors than just light and dark aqua marine. I don't know why, but seeing jewelry with color just fascinates me as they're more then just shiny pretty objects.
