Emma Stone shared her worst on-stage nightmare during an interview with Molly Shannon for a taping of Variety‘s “Actors on Actors.” Stone revealed how her “terrible” eyesight affected one of her performances in Broadway’s “Cabaret.”
“I was singing and I got really kind of overwhelmed and I blinked, and both of my contacts came out at once, which has never happened to me in my entire life,” Stone told Shannon.
The interview will air in its entirety on Variety‘s “Actors on Actors” Season 5, presented by The Venetian Las Vegas, which debuts on PBS SoCal on Jan. 3.

Kacie Broadfield so true. And when it's an excellent cast, they make the "accident" something the audience will remember forever

So true! And no audience would be let down. It makes the experience never forgettable which is so priceless and worth it. THAT's the amazing, crazy, DIFFICULT, high ticket price us theater goers can justify paying for. We are ALL there for that intimate experience rooting for the cast- they have our support. Not negative judgmental feelings. (Unless they are critics I suppose. In which case, WE devoted Broadway goers get it and don't JUDGE. Granted we prefer/want/pay to see specific cast members or roles played by whoever we are anticipating.... But that's LIVE theater. Real fans comprised by real people will not hold malice if something goes wrong during a LIVE PRODUCTION. THEY GET IT. THEY DONT CARE TO SEE PRE RECORDED REHERSAL FOOTAGE AIRED ON A SCREEN.
(Malice maybe..... And we ALL know what I'm talking about from this past Sunday. WHY ON EARTH WOULD FOX AIR PRE RECORDED MATERIAL when, A. In live theater where things CAN and DO go wrong was there not an understudy? B. FOX HAD THE ORIGINAL RODGER RIGHT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was he asked? Was he not allowed? Did he decline?
It's a snow day here. Trapped inside obviously. --OUT

Emma Stone's story reminded me of when I used to wear contacts. (Given the need for reading glasses, I've given up on them.) Once at the corner of Broadway and 8th St., on a windy day, a gust hit me straight in the eyes and I watched both lenses blow away. Fortunately, I wasn't far from the optometrist where I purchased my lenses so I called them and explained. After they finished laughing, they told me I could get a pair of lenses no problem.

Hahaha -My contacts are +5 & +6. I was performing Send In the Clowns in front of 1,400 people. It was one of those flawless moments -I'm sitting at the piano, singing "...and no one is there," after an inordinate pause I like to put in before that phrase ...and I KNEW the pin spot had caught the single tear I let trickle down the cheek the audience sees ....AND MY BRILLIANT BLUE CONTACT FOLLOWED IT and STUCK half way in and halfway out of my eye -it looked like I was having a seizure for the rest of the song. Carole Channing preferred to stay half blind when performing -you had to tell her who she was talking to if you were taking her through a crowded room. LoL xoxo :)

Emma Stone is a beautiful actress but there is something strange about the way she pronounces words. I don't know what it is exactly, maybe linguists or speech experts could tell.

I think she explained it in one of her interview before because that's when I started to notice there's something different when she pronounce words with letter S.

She has a lisp. She wore braces as a child and teen and yeah that caused the lisp. It's cute.
