We deserve another clash of Ninja. Its a damn shame that not that many people got to experience those games due to them only being out on GC and the Wii. They were basically marvel vs capcom but with naruto characters. As a person who has played all the ultimate ninja's and the storm games except for connections, i can honestly say they just don't come close to how fun clash is. So many times me and buddies have literally screamed at the tv because of how close matches get. Would love nothing more than to get a new one on the switch at least with all the new characters up until the war arc. There are still people keeping the game alive on discord with tournaments and stuff but it needs more attention
It wasnt that good either, i dont think we need to move forward with the mentality that every fighting needs to be competetive for people to enjoy. Look at fighterz its good but fallen out of favor for many people because it gets too difficult for many people because the gap of skill. Ultimate Ninja Series was way better for a casual fun fighting expierience, interacting with the stage and all.

@Eru_3ru I agree, I would remove ranked and make it a party game. Totally non competitive. I'd focus on adding modes and characters. Storm is never going to be street fighter or MK when it comes to the competitive scene. Them trying to balance both is making it less fun for both demographics.
Storm connections is a spammers wet dream. It doesn't take skill anymore just abuse the most broken characters for easy wins. Nearly every change they did makes the game less fun: Auto regen chakra, super armor on nearly every jutsu, overpowered supports, no chakra loss when spamming counter, being able to combo off of anything including jutsu and even when they are knocked down... I could go on for days. The game's becoming tiresome having to constantly sweat against cheesy players.
I could not put it into better words than that first sentence. I fought this one team of Edo Minato, Jiraiya, and Naruto and all he used was Rasengan but once I started baiting his subs with Almighty Push, he left the game.
Nah the supports should be punished for being hit and placed in a bad position especially since you can basically use them as a shield at times to stop your opponent from getting in you as a player shouldnt be punished for being comboed into something in connection’s because this game is crazy combo heavy the most flexible in any storm game so it would be an L if you get hit with no subs you just gotta take the crazy damage thats also dealt by moves in this game the games would be stupid fast and have less opportunity to have comebacks
Support jutsus are designed to cover you, help you escape combos or continue combos. imo, Supports shouldn't affect the enemy's guard, even if you switch to the support that's using the jutsu. On top of that, make the guard better. Here's some more ideas: 1. Awakenings shouldn't be so short. 2. There should be a longer delay between throwing shuriken, kunai, or other projectiles. 3. Spamming should upscale the chakra intake for each repeated jutsu. 4. It should be easier to chase an opponent instead of running from an opponent. 5. WE NEED MULTIPLE JUTSUS TO CHOOSE FROM FOR CHARACTERS WHO HAVE A LOT OF JUTSUS. KAKASHI SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN FIREBALL, WATER DRAGON, LIGHTNING BLADE, DOUBLE LIGHTNING BLADE, RASENGAN, KAMUI, SHADOW SHURIKEN JUTSU ETC. (I don't even main Kakashi but comon) 6. An improved substitution bar that can build off of the damage you're being dealt.
Probably the same specials who put skill based matchmaking on COD, if everyone is capped at the same level kids won't feel bad about being garbage and they'll keep playing the game and use their parents money for microtransactions. Hence the armored rasengan and armored chidoris (2 most popular jutsus). Not to mention they made that poll recently and since Minato came out the most popular they made him incredibly broken so everyone uses him and gets an auto win. I Had a 90% win rate on Storm4 but can't compete on this one, sure CC2 🤣. I just get fun out the game by quitting ranked games and trolling kids that now think their good lol UPDATE: already deleted the game. 1st game I ever delete on the PS5. Trash to its core. Back on Storm 4.

No sbmm provides a variety experience where you can try new things have relaxing games, competitive games and you can also get stomped too. Everyone starts at the bottom, and the people that played the game got better and are now able to beat bad players. It’s called progression. No goofy setups, only meta, no variety, no visible progression? One of my main issues with this game is how much chakra you auto regenerate. I think the auto rate is too fast and the rate that occurs when you're preforming actions is too slow. I would try to look for a middle ground so that the gap between the unpaused and paused auto chakra rates don't have this big of a gap while not feeling like you're running out of chakra too many times. The next thing I would do is make counter cost a resource but use a new ui gfx for where you can manage your counters and how you build up your counter resource would follow its own rules. The reason being after playing Storm 4, counters sharing the same resource as your chakra gauge would negatively limit your chakra usage for the entire match which would cause players to spend more time trying to get their chakra back. This issue with counters in the past was the equivalent of stalling the match to get your subs back after 14 seconds but more harmful to the gameplay. If you played Storm 4 then it's obvious that this kind of mechanic being in the chakra gauge negatively impacts your full potential amount of chakra in a match and it would work out better if counter resource belonged in a new UI gfx gauge similar to the sub gauge. Next is to not let your support gauge be refilled to 100% when you get Max Storm Gauge. This is more braindead and unfair than select armored jutsus because you could be making a comeback vs another player, bait both their supports, then they get back their supports for free from getting Max Storm Gauge causing you to lose the match in a very unfair way. Extra obnoxious things right now is how much guard damage actions do to your guard, how fast you recover out of a guard break stun to the point there's no reward, and the Chakra Spark Dash the one that has a yellow effect on it should not cost the same as a regular chakra dash. There's a lot more I'd like to see happen with the gameplay but these are the most crucial issues right now after playing Connections.
Why did they make it so characters wake up immediately after their guard breaks?? Lol generations and storm 3 had the best mechanics period, they broke the game with storm 4 and shit connections.
Y'all notice how the removal of tilts and chakra shuriken completely butchered Tenten's awakening? She can now only use 3 out of the 5 chakra natures, since CC2 couldn't be bothered to reasign lighting and earth to different inputs.
They need to take out armoured rasengan and chidori and give Gard more HP it breaks way to easily like if someone gets one touch on it. It’s getting broken

They NEED to bring back the mod solo online ASAP for those who don't want to play with support from time to time. 1v1 is so good and more pure especially since the supports in this game are even more busted than before and can carry a whole match! I already gave up on the game. I played Storm 4 until release date but this game is unplayable, it's for noobs no doubt. Just pick Minato, any rasengan user, Sasuke, Sarada or Neji and get an autowin. I have a 90% win rate on past game but I can't compete with kids on this one? Lmfao nah son it's the new genre for games like COD with SBMM, if we can make everyone play at the same level no one can complain and they'll buy micotransactions.
when you ragequit or someone leave they should lose points and the person that stayed should receive point, no armor on supports or jutsu, more game modes such as tournament mode, king of the hill, private match to go against your friends etc. Also you shouldnt be able to call supports while your getting hit, and to be able to switch your characters if you rematch someone in rank
There should be a hard knockdown feature instead of being infinitely combo’d off the ground. Auto chakra regen and infinite ninja tools should’ve never been a thing

With the fact that you get possibly 2 more subs off of your supports being able to do two jutsu while you’re getting combo’s I disagree. Love the combo potential in this game but really don’t like the supports saving them after everythings said and done
Literally all they needed to do was implement the combo timer feature from Demon Slayer there is no reason you should be able to infinite combo off ranged grabs.
Things need to be changed , armored jutsu , better sub functions cuz it doesn’t matter how much u mash ur sub button 9/10 on close encounters it wouldn’t register and lastly the customization adding on to another character and causing the game to crash since the customization on your character isn’t yours , forces u to the lobby
Honestly, that sub function has been a problem since Storm 3. You always had a 50/50 on whether you're going to be able to sub this close encounter or not.
I also think the chakra dash should have a cooldown after every use and shields should have a little bit more health. The way the game is designed it encourages you to just mash and not really think much about your approach. It gets old fast. I also think grabs should not be substitutable and every character should have four jutsus. Change the consumables to 2 and add 2 extra jutsu in the other slots, and give those jutsus other properties than just damage. And for goodness sake, please rework Boro. That is not Boro. What even is his ultimate? It's like they had no idea what to do with the character even though we've been shown what he can do.
Chakra replenishes passively and I think that’s a problem. Chakra being more passive encourages players to use jutsu more without as much of a punishment. Properly using, conserving, and charging chakra is supposed to be strategic. The game is constantly giving out stimulus chakra

No I think this was a good time to drop it, they could NOT drop it around the same time as budokai tenkaichi 4. That would kill this game completely. This game seems very easy to fix imo. I think Chidori/Rasengan shouldn't have invincibilty frames and supports need to be able to have bigger hitboxes or something so that they can be hit out of their attacks more.
You know what the funny part is I got banned off all the Naruto discord servers for warning people because I pre-ordered storm 4 so I've seen this before and we all know how that worked on out on the Xbox.. so knowing that I went into the discord servers telling people not to get it on the Xbox version if they could help it because they are going to cut as many corners as they can because f*** Xbox I guess I literally have no idea why they literally leave out entire features for other platforms and call it the same game.. but anyway I'm banned from all the discord servers for simply trying to warn people I got muted and trash-talked for 10 minutes and then finally banned off the server for literally word for word don't get storm connections on Xbox they're going to do you dirty so I'm sorry I tried to warn everybody but I got silence before I could get to everybody else so if you were in one of those discord servers and bought this trash game you don't actually have to blame the developers you can also blame the discord mods from silencing me so I couldn't tell your ass not to get this trash ass game😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Man this game looks like the biggest mixed bag Because the improvements to the combo system make me want to play it badly. But then there is everything else
you shouldn't be able to use supports while being hit imo -- you already have to win neutral 4 times to get a combo started, but currently the reward for taking your opponents subs is getting hit by Pain, Indra, and Air Rasengan supports using supports to escape/apply block pressure or establish keepaway is already strong enough
Deadass, it’s frustrating when you’re fighting someone who plays stupidly with subs just for them to still be saved with their assist and have their 4 subs back. It’s almost impossible to punish players
one thing that would fix a lot of the issues that ive been seeing is maybe jutsu damage and knockback being reduced for every successful hit (kinda like how smash bros does) so that like after being hit by like 3 chidories/rasengans from a character it doesn't knock back anymore and does very little damage
the reality is this game wont be balanced much especially once the season pass is done, glad i dint pay for it also 100+ chars in this game and 60% all you see is minato and pain gets boring

My List - Bring tilts back - Bring that flash cancel thing back from Storm 3 - Take out super armor from both supports and jutsus - Add player matches so that we can invite our friends amongst other modes to make the game more interesting - Adjust the movement to be a bit more like Storm 3 / Full Burst (probably gonna get roasted for wanting this) - Take out infinite ninja / chakra tools - Take out auto regeneration for chakra - Adjust the OTG scaling so that it isn't abused. Don't scale it too much though because it should definitely hurt if the opponent is wasting subs.
You made a great video Afro I enjoyed it. The number 1 most important thing is fixing the net code to have roll back. On My Hero Ultra Rumble I play with 2 other people on 2 different Continents and it never lags. On a storm game I play my next door neighbour and I'm missing 50/60 of my frames at times. It's impossible to play like that. I think Connections Minato is super toxic but the main reason why he kept winning was the broken Pain jutsu / Shinra tensei needs to be nerfed like how it was in Storm 4 at the very least and they should probably give him a weaker version of all mighty pull . In storm 4 you had counter play with the counter but since it's a jutsu now it really messes you up. Luckily this player didn't know how to use that or just used push on you. The push in connections makes it so you can't play a pain player straight up. When you combine that with Minatos mobility you have a close to unbeatable strategy. Saradas kunai in her combo should be modified to not stop dashes or jutsus. The reason why armoured jutsus is a good thing is that a projectile always trumped them in the past so now they are balanced. It's annoying but I think they need to balance the mechanic it feels too absolute. There are very little defensive options in this game. The guard is a bit too weak it's like it's made of paper. It breaks instantly. The game also feels very restrictive like your on train tracks instead of free to move around like a real ninja would be able to in the Narutoverse. Pain / Sarada / Kiba should be nerfed and maybe the poison. And maybe Ashura and that Naruto arrow support. Loved the video keep up the great work.
I told myself if they don't upgrade old storm two characters I'm not buying until it goes down to $20. The Sanin sets have been the same since Storm 2.
I'm waiting till this day for Karin to get her chain jutsu, the devs don't care about the game and accurate character jutsus, unfortunately. They only care about money.
Super armor and sub recovery timings should be turned. Everything else is fine. Honestly this match you showcased, I see nothing wrong. The opponent plays really well into his comp (utilizing Minato well and pain sub in first two matches at least was really well timed from him)
spams what? the fact that Afro can still win means its fair and square. If you actually watched how top ranked play, this game is so much more easier. Top ranked players do so many variation of combos, they are not even spamming. They do different things in high speed. That is what skill is@@Clashy69

Afro played like a true Naruto character. Went from how do I beat this? Analyzed the fight found a weakness and exploited it I love it. Also the “that was not fun” had me dying😂
Just a tip if you switch characters mid combo after the sub it cancels more than half the jutsu’s in a way a free chakra dash with hyper armor.. which is very amazing against players who sub and jutsu for example chidori or a rasengan would be stopped
I like the idea of using Storm 4 as basis for Connections. My issue with Connections is it seems more things were taken away and replaced with gimmicky things. Such as these no skill and unnecessarily long combos Why remove the jutsu selection? Why remove tilts? Why remove chakra shuriken? The online modes? Things that made characters feel unique. For example, the multiple versions of Sasuke all feel similar now because a lot of them share jutsus now. People have been crying out for updated movesets on older characters. All they had to do was keep jutsu selection and tilts. Add second jutsu and keep chakra shurikens. Add support combos legitimately. Along with costume customization in there If you wanted to really spice things up re-add instant awakening while maintaining full awakenings later in the game as health decreases. Maybe a side combo? Like most mods. This would provide a fresh feeling to gameplay.
If they remove the super/hyper armor on jutsu this game becomes WAY better. especially off supports, like wth? who thought super armor on supports was a good idea??
I said it once before and I’ll say it again hopefully they learn if there’s a storm 5 in the future. * This game is not better than storm 4 for gameplay they shoulda just kept s4 mechanics this game feels like the demon slayer version of naruto just spamming jutsus for the most damage like demon slayer and hitting people on the ground already was a terrible idea same with weak guards too like the guards should be buffed, casuals literally rule this game with armor supports and spamming. * They should remove picking people off the ground and add back to the rebounding from s4 especially when rolling on the ground, decrease sub timer, bring back storm 4 counters where they take chakra and push you back and then the counter parry mechanic could still be activated only if you switch after the counter like how counter switching is in storm 4 and get rid of damage scaling and armored supports to stop the spam meta and bring back switching to how it was in s4 it’s not even valuable in this game when that’s literally what gave storm a unique fresh breath of air especially the advanced switch tec mechanics that had a big skill gap cause you could use switch tec in s4 and still be so bad if you weren’t actually good. * What they could do is just make a competitive slider for ranked with the changes I said then they could keep the connections mechanics for casuals in player match and tournament’s and stuff if they wanna play with this gameplay this way everybody is happy. * They honestly coulda just made switch tech in s4 a real mechanic even though they didn’t mean to put it in the game it was mad advanced and the skill gap made it fun if they ever make storm 5 they should just go from s4 gameplay and only take little stuff from this game like customization. * I don’t think the devs realize s4 mechanics were actually really already good tbh i would say peak mechanics for an arena fighter with the switch tec it was just the like the glitches like stun lock and kaguya that were never fixed but stun locks are basically the crumble mechanic they added now * Also they should add the option to choose different jutsus for certain characters that have multiple like in storm 4 six paths madara could have majestic flame and bring back itachi crows as a jutsu option and other characters that had moves removed from storm 4 and they should also get rid of forcing you to pick premade teams and premade maps and go back to how it was in storm 4 by choosing when the game starts and get rid of the multiple pages and make maybe 1 or 2 pages for character selection like how the map selection is then premade teams could be on a 3rd page as an option. Also, can they please fix the english dub voice lines because they completely ruined the dub on this game they can literally just copy and paste the voice lines from storm 4 I literally keep my game muted now because of what they did with the dub the best example is Pain like compare his voice on storm 4 to storm connections it makes me wanna throw up they sound nothing like there characters but I wish there was at least one dev that actually payed attention to the community. Something needs to be done with the gameplay or connections is finished and maybe if there’s a storm 5 the story mode side needs a whole new Open World Story from beginning to End that skips over nothing. Appreciate anyone that actually sees this and takes the time to listen.
the armored melee jutsu, youre rasengans, chidoris, ashuras tornado etc.. shouldnt be a thing. guards should be buffed a bit, your guard can be broken pretty much every combo done on you. um from a gameplay perspective i cant think of much else besides some tuning down of maybe a couple characters like the newest naruto, some assists like tailed beast bomb naruto, ya know realistic things that can be done realistically
I haven't played this storm yet and I have never been super competitive with others but I am loving these videos regardless, feels like I am watching Naruto for the first time not knowing how the fights are going and how you learn to counter and adapt to win, really good videos man.

The Naruto games are just like any other gaming franchises out there, just updated rosters and either adding/taking away previous mechanics. They should’ve added level repositioning or being able to knock the opponent to another area like in the older DBZ games to make the fights a little more innovative, or level destruction from attacks.

1: online game modess 2: the net code 3: jutsus like rasengan for some characters have armor. get rid of that 4: bring back chakra shurikens and jutsu choices during character select
-Tilts need to come back. -Rasengan needs to consume more chakra -Item customization needs to be a thing. -Two assists can't be active at the same damn time -If you parry and the opponent uses ult the parry player can't sub. -Ults should have higher priority over regular jutsu.
To be fair, Revolution slowly patched a few things, like making counters not stun for an eternity, and Storm 4 adjusted and fixed things like the infinite support shuriken glitch, even though those changes only came with the boruto expansion. Assuming this is the last storm game (at least for the forseeable future), balance patches or a similar expansion to storm 4's aren't out of the question. That said though, it is CC2, so you never know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I dont feel like every change should be reverted but all of the changes they did made spamming a bit TOO viable. They need to revert the chakra charge rate, the super armor, the extremely short time on guard breaks and they need to tune a few characters (new Sasuke and Chidori: A thousand birds users)
Infinites can be so frustrating and annoying especially in storm 4. Im really glad we have more access to jutsu in connections because you can strategize much more than just erase your enemies subs and just spam combos to win + chakra regen is an amazing quality of life feature that makes sm sense
Honestly man storm 3 was the most complete package. They did the story mode really well and had some other side stuff you can do really well. Don't know how the online was. But storm 5 needs to do what storm 3 did
OK I know it may be a wild take but honestly, I feel like if they decided to make countering more prevalent as in being able to do it in between combos(and justsu as well), not just at the beginning or chakra dashes it could help with the sub issues tbh I also feel like subs take a little bit too long to come back other than that my same complaints are that of everyone else supports too strong and super armor justus
I agree with the counter part kinda, the super armor and broken supports is free tho because anyone could choose broken supports and use super armor jutsus, counter spam deserves to get punished the same way it did in storm 4 where it restricts your chakra overtime, atleast with supports they have cooldown times so it’s not spammable and jutsus deplete chakra even tho chakra auto charges it’s still not spammable but counters are just braindead skill less and it’s not like I lose to counter spammers because I refuse to lose that way it’s just such a repetitive thing to deal with back to back every match you get into it makes the game so boring and tiresome
changes i'd like to see : 1- lower the auto chakra recharge rate (guard is always on red cause they dash so much) 2- assist and jutsu's invincibility needs to go asap
The movement is way more fluid and free currently. Even though Storm 3 is my fav Storm game. It's nothing but blocks on your feet. What they shouldn't have taken out was the cancels, and I mean the ones that actually took effort. Not the current simplistic one.
This is so different than what I'm used to, the casual matches I usually have (I'm trash at this game) are way more chaotic and spammy, subs all gone in a second, explosions and justus blocking the screen and your view, etc. These pro matches are somehow slower paced, yet there's a lot more things going on and you can keep track of everything. This is how this game should be played and I have no idea how to git gud. Also "Killer Bee is in my face, and now I'm racist"
It really sucks waiting this long for this another Storm, only to get a game with so many clear issues. Even if updates come quickly, those who bought it are waiting on Day 1 features, and have to pay for DLC characters that probably should be in the starting cast. You should 100% be able to switch which jutsus you want to use, and they should make at least 1 extra jutsu, but ideally 2 for every character that doesn’t have more than 2 jutsus. I feel like it would add more variety to the game. Maybe the idea’s a bit much tho
You shouldn’t be able to call in assist while being attacked, add proper damage scaling, lower the rate chakra recharges without charging it manually, remove armor from every jutsu and support, and a lot of moves need hit stun duration nerfs. Raw Justus need a damage nerf, and all rasengans/chidoris/lightning blades need to hard knockdown the opponent and need a slight start up nerf. Guard breaking should actually be useful, subs should place you a bit further back. Just a few main changes that really really ruin this game fr
Just my idea obviously, just needs to honestly pull in all the best features of the past games: Damage Nerf Substitution comes back slightly faster or can return if you find items on the map or something Assists Nerf (Health Bars and can be temporarily stunned) Longer gameplay i.e. cutscenes Moveset custumization since tilts are gone and jutsu's are different The game just feels like it ends too quickly and you get punished heavily for it

We deserve another clash of Ninja. Its a damn shame that not that many people got to experience those games due to them only being out on GC and the Wii. They were basically marvel vs capcom but with naruto characters. As a person who has played all the ultimate ninja's and the storm games except for connections, i can honestly say they just don't come close to how fun clash is. So many times me and buddies have literally screamed at the tv because of how close matches get. Would love nothing more than to get a new one on the switch at least with all the new characters up until the war arc. There are still people keeping the game alive on discord with tournaments and stuff but it needs more attention
It wasnt that good either, i dont think we need to move forward with the mentality that every fighting needs to be competetive for people to enjoy. Look at fighterz its good but fallen out of favor for many people because it gets too difficult for many people because the gap of skill. Ultimate Ninja Series was way better for a casual fun fighting expierience, interacting with the stage and all.

@Eru_3ru I agree, I would remove ranked and make it a party game. Totally non competitive. I'd focus on adding modes and characters. Storm is never going to be street fighter or MK when it comes to the competitive scene. Them trying to balance both is making it less fun for both demographics.
Storm connections is a spammers wet dream. It doesn't take skill anymore just abuse the most broken characters for easy wins. Nearly every change they did makes the game less fun: Auto regen chakra, super armor on nearly every jutsu, overpowered supports, no chakra loss when spamming counter, being able to combo off of anything including jutsu and even when they are knocked down... I could go on for days. The game's becoming tiresome having to constantly sweat against cheesy players.

Support jutsus are designed to cover you, help you escape combos or continue combos.
imo, Supports shouldn't affect the enemy's guard, even if you switch to the support that's using the jutsu. On top of that, make the guard better.
Here's some more ideas:
1. Awakenings shouldn't be so short.
2. There should be a longer delay between throwing shuriken, kunai, or other projectiles.
3. Spamming should upscale the chakra intake for each repeated jutsu.
4. It should be easier to chase an opponent instead of running from an opponent.
5. WE NEED MULTIPLE JUTSUS TO CHOOSE FROM FOR CHARACTERS WHO HAVE A LOT OF JUTSUS.
KAKASHI SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN FIREBALL, WATER DRAGON, LIGHTNING BLADE, DOUBLE LIGHTNING BLADE, RASENGAN, KAMUI, SHADOW SHURIKEN JUTSU ETC. (I don't even main Kakashi but comon)
6. An improved substitution bar that can build off of the damage you're being dealt.

Probably the same specials who put skill based matchmaking on COD, if everyone is capped at the same level kids won't feel bad about being garbage and they'll keep playing the game and use their parents money for microtransactions. Hence the armored rasengan and armored chidoris (2 most popular jutsus). Not to mention they made that poll recently and since Minato came out the most popular they made him incredibly broken so everyone uses him and gets an auto win. I Had a 90% win rate on Storm4 but can't compete on this one, sure CC2 🤣. I just get fun out the game by quitting ranked games and trolling kids that now think their good lol
UPDATE: already deleted the game. 1st game I ever delete on the PS5. Trash to its core. Back on Storm 4.

No sbmm provides a variety experience where you can try new things have relaxing games, competitive games and you can also get stomped too. Your arguments don’t even make any sense either especially when you can’t take an L sometimes to people who are just better than you. Everyone starts at the bottom, and the people that played the game got better and are now able to beat bad players. It’s called progression. You get no rewards being match-made against people that play similar to you all the time and it provides no incentive to get better either. So then what’s the point in playing the game? No goofy setups, only meta, no variety, no visible progression? One of my main issues with this game is how much chakra you auto regenerate. I think the auto rate is too fast and the rate that occurs when you're preforming actions is too slow. I would try to look for a middle ground so that the gap between the unpaused and paused auto chakra rates don't have this big of a gap while not feeling like you're running out of chakra too many times.
The next thing I would do is make counter cost a resource but use a new ui gfx for where you can manage your counters and how you build up your counter resource would follow its own rules. The reason being after playing Storm 4, counters sharing the same resource as your chakra gauge would negatively limit your chakra usage for the entire match which would cause players to spend more time trying to get their chakra back. This issue with counters in the past was the equivalent of stalling the match to get your subs back after 14 seconds but more harmful to the gameplay. If you played Storm 4 then it's obvious that this kind of mechanic being in the chakra gauge negatively impacts your full potential amount of chakra in a match and it would work out better if counter resource belonged in a new UI gfx gauge similar to the sub gauge.
Next is to not let your support gauge be refilled to 100% when you get Max Storm Gauge. This is more braindead and unfair than select armored jutsus because you could be making a comeback vs another player, bait both their supports, then they get back their supports for free from getting Max Storm Gauge causing you to lose the match in a very unfair way.
Extra obnoxious things right now is how much guard damage actions do to your guard, how fast you recover out of a guard break stun to the point there's no reward, and the Chakra Spark Dash the one that has a yellow effect on it should not cost the same as a regular chakra dash.
There's a lot more I'd like to see happen with the gameplay but these are the most crucial issues right now after playing Connections.

Literally all they needed to do was implement the combo timer feature from Demon Slayer there is no reason you should be able to infinite combo off ranged grabs.
Things need to be changed , armored jutsu , better sub functions cuz it doesn’t matter how much u mash ur sub button 9/10 on close encounters it wouldn’t register and lastly the customization adding on to another character and causing the game to crash since the customization on your character isn’t yours , forces u to the lobby

I also think the chakra dash should have a cooldown after every use and shields should have a little bit more health. The way the game is designed it encourages you to just mash and not really think much about your approach. It gets old fast. I also think grabs should not be substitutable and every character should have four jutsus. Change the consumables to 2 and add 2 extra jutsu in the other slots, and give those jutsus other properties than just damage.
And for goodness sake, please rework Boro. That is not Boro. What even is his ultimate? It's like they had no idea what to do with the character even though we've been shown what he can do.
Chakra replenishes passively and I think that’s a problem. Chakra being more passive encourages players to use jutsu more without as much of a punishment. Properly using, conserving, and charging chakra is supposed to be strategic.

I think Chidori/Rasengan shouldn't have invincibilty frames and supports need to be able to have bigger hitboxes or something so that they can be hit out of their attacks more.

Deadass, it’s frustrating when you’re fighting someone who plays stupidly with subs just for them to still be saved with their assist and have their 4 subs back. It’s almost impossible to punish players
one thing that would fix a lot of the issues that ive been seeing is maybe jutsu damage and knockback being reduced for every successful hit (kinda like how smash bros does) so that like after being hit by like 3 chidories/rasengans from a character it doesn't knock back anymore and does very little damage

- Bring tilts back
- Bring that flash cancel thing back from Storm 3
- Take out super armor from both supports and jutsus
- Add player matches so that we can invite our friends amongst other modes to make the game more interesting
- Adjust the movement to be a bit more like Storm 3 / Full Burst (probably gonna get roasted for wanting this)
- Take out infinite ninja / chakra tools
- Take out auto regeneration for chakra
- Adjust the OTG scaling so that it isn't abused. Don't scale it too much though because it should definitely hurt if the opponent is wasting subs.
You made a great video Afro I enjoyed it. The number 1 most important thing is fixing the net code to have roll back. On My Hero Ultra Rumble I play with 2 other people on 2 different Continents and it never lags. On a storm game I play my next door neighbour and I'm missing 50/60 of my frames at times. It's impossible to play like that.
I think Connections Minato is super toxic but the main reason why he kept winning was the broken Pain jutsu / Shinra tensei needs to be nerfed like how it was in Storm 4 at the very least and they should probably give him a weaker version of all mighty pull . In storm 4 you had counter play with the counter but since it's a jutsu now it really messes you up. Luckily this player didn't know how to use that or just used push on you. The push in connections makes it so you can't play a pain player straight up. When you combine that with Minatos mobility you have a close to unbeatable strategy. Saradas kunai in her combo should be modified to not stop dashes or jutsus.
The reason why armoured jutsus is a good thing is that a projectile always trumped them in the past so now they are balanced. It's annoying but I think they need to balance the mechanic it feels too absolute. There are very little defensive options in this game.
The guard is a bit too weak it's like it's made of paper. It breaks instantly. The game also feels very restrictive like your on train tracks instead of free to move around like a real ninja would be able to in the Narutoverse.
Pain / Sarada / Kiba should be nerfed and maybe the poison. And maybe Ashura and that Naruto arrow support.

Super armor and sub recovery timings should be turned. Everything else is fine. Honestly this match you showcased, I see nothing wrong. The opponent plays really well into his comp (utilizing Minato well and pain sub in first two matches at least was really well timed from him)

Just a tip if you switch characters mid combo after the sub it cancels more than half the jutsu’s in a way a free chakra dash with hyper armor.. which is very amazing against players who sub and jutsu for example chidori or a rasengan would be stopped
I like the idea of using Storm 4 as basis for Connections.
My issue with Connections is it seems more things were taken away and replaced with gimmicky things.
Such as these no skill and unnecessarily long combos
Why remove the jutsu selection?
Why remove tilts?
Why remove chakra shuriken?
The online modes?
Things that made characters feel unique.
For example, the multiple versions of Sasuke all feel similar now because a lot of them share jutsus now.
People have been crying out for updated movesets on older characters.
All they had to do was keep jutsu selection and tilts. Add second jutsu and keep chakra shurikens.
Add support combos legitimately.
Along with costume customization in there
If you wanted to really spice things up re-add instant awakening while maintaining full awakenings later in the game as health decreases.
Maybe a side combo? Like most mods.
This would provide a fresh feeling to gameplay.
If they remove the super/hyper armor on jutsu this game becomes WAY better. especially off supports, like wth? who thought super armor on supports was a good idea??

I said it once before and I’ll say it again hopefully they learn if there’s a storm 5 in the future. * This game is not better than storm 4 for gameplay they shoulda just kept s4 mechanics this game feels like the demon slayer version of naruto just spamming jutsus for the most damage like demon slayer and hitting people on the ground already was a terrible idea same with weak guards too like the guards should be buffed, casuals literally rule this game with armor supports and spamming.
* They should remove picking people off the ground and add back to the rebounding from s4 especially when rolling on the ground, decrease sub timer, bring back storm 4 counters where they take chakra and push you back and then the counter parry mechanic could still be activated only if you switch after the counter like how counter switching is in storm 4 and get rid of damage scaling and armored supports to stop the spam meta and bring back switching to how it was in s4 it’s not even valuable in this game when that’s literally what gave storm a unique fresh breath of air especially the advanced switch tec mechanics that had a big skill gap cause you could use switch tec in s4 and still be so bad if you weren’t actually good.
* What they could do is just make a competitive slider for ranked with the changes I said then they could keep the connections mechanics for casuals in player match and tournament’s and stuff if they wanna play with this gameplay this way everybody is happy.
* They honestly coulda just made switch tech in s4 a real mechanic even though they didn’t mean to put it in the game it was mad advanced and the skill gap made it fun if they ever make storm 5 they should just go from s4 gameplay and only take little stuff from this game like customization.
* I don’t think the devs realize s4 mechanics were actually really already good tbh i would say peak mechanics for an arena fighter with the switch tec it was just the like the glitches like stun lock and kaguya that were never fixed but stun locks are basically the crumble mechanic they added now
* Also they should add the option to choose different jutsus for certain characters that have multiple like in storm 4 six paths madara could have majestic flame and bring back itachi crows as a jutsu option and other characters that had moves removed from storm 4 and they should also get rid of forcing you to pick premade teams and premade maps and go back to how it was in storm 4 by choosing when the game starts and get rid of the multiple pages and make maybe 1 or 2 pages for character selection like how the map selection is then premade teams could be on a 3rd page as an option. Also, can they please fix the english dub voice lines because they completely ruined the dub on this game they can literally just copy and paste the voice lines from storm 4 I literally keep my game muted now because of what they did with the dub the best example is Pain like compare his voice on storm 4 to storm connections it makes me wanna throw up they sound nothing like there characters but I wish there was at least one dev that actually payed attention to the community. Something needs to be done with the gameplay or connections is finished and maybe if there’s a storm 5 the story mode side needs a whole new Open World Story from beginning to End that skips over nothing. Appreciate anyone that actually sees this and takes the time to listen.

the armored melee jutsu, youre rasengans, chidoris, ashuras tornado etc.. shouldnt be a thing. guards should be buffed a bit, your guard can be broken pretty much every combo done on you. um from a gameplay perspective i cant think of much else besides some tuning down of maybe a couple characters like the newest naruto, some assists like tailed beast bomb naruto, ya know realistic things that can be done realistically

The Naruto games are just like any other gaming franchises out there, just updated rosters and either adding/taking away previous mechanics. They should’ve added level repositioning or being able to knock the opponent to another area like in the older DBZ games to make the fights a little more innovative, or level destruction from attacks.

To be fair, Revolution slowly patched a few things, like making counters not stun for an eternity, and Storm 4 adjusted and fixed things like the infinite support shuriken glitch, even though those changes only came with the boruto expansion.
Assuming this is the last storm game (at least for the forseeable future), balance patches or a similar expansion to storm 4's aren't out of the question. That said though, it is CC2, so you never know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

-remove armor on every jutsu
- every time a jutsu hits In a round, it's damage is lowered and stacks
- slow down and limit the range of back dashing and back Chakra dash to limit running away
- slow auto Chakra regen a bit. if you are running away and haven't agressed, it should stop your regen entirely.
- counter should drain 20% Chakra

I dont feel like every change should be reverted but all of the changes they did made spamming a bit TOO viable.
They need to revert the chakra charge rate, the super armor, the extremely short time on guard breaks and they need to tune a few characters (new Sasuke and Chidori: A thousand birds users)

Infinites can be so frustrating and annoying especially in storm 4. Im really glad we have more access to jutsu in connections because you can strategize much more than just erase your enemies subs and just spam combos to win + chakra regen is an amazing quality of life feature that makes sm sense
Honestly man storm 3 was the most complete package. They did the story mode really well and had some other side stuff you can do really well. Don't know how the online was. But storm 5 needs to do what storm 3 did

OK I know it may be a wild take but honestly, I feel like if they decided to make countering more prevalent as in being able to do it in between combos(and justsu as well), not just at the beginning or chakra dashes it could help with the sub issues tbh I also feel like subs take a little bit too long to come back other than that my same complaints are that of everyone else supports too strong and super armor justus
Maybe counters could damage when you chakra dash so there isn’t always dashing whenever you substitute

I agree with the counter part kinda, the super armor and broken supports is free tho because anyone could choose broken supports and use super armor jutsus, counter spam deserves to get punished the same way it did in storm 4 where it restricts your chakra overtime, atleast with supports they have cooldown times so it’s not spammable and jutsus deplete chakra even tho chakra auto charges it’s still not spammable but counters are just braindead skill less and it’s not like I lose to counter spammers because I refuse to lose that way it’s just such a repetitive thing to deal with back to back every match you get into it makes the game so boring and tiresome

The movement is way more fluid and free currently. Even though Storm 3 is my fav Storm game. It's nothing but blocks on your feet. What they shouldn't have taken out was the cancels, and I mean the ones that actually took effort. Not the current simplistic one.

This is so different than what I'm used to, the casual matches I usually have (I'm trash at this game) are way more chaotic and spammy, subs all gone in a second, explosions and justus blocking the screen and your view, etc. These pro matches are somehow slower paced, yet there's a lot more things going on and you can keep track of everything.
This is how this game should be played and I have no idea how to git gud.

It really sucks waiting this long for this another Storm, only to get a game with so many clear issues. Even if updates come quickly, those who bought it are waiting on Day 1 features, and have to pay for DLC characters that probably should be in the starting cast. 2. make cancelling jutsu more expensive, rn jutsus are way too safe. Make all jutsus cancelable instead of only the new op characters having the option
You should 100% be able to switch which jutsus you want to use, and they should make at least 1 extra jutsu, but ideally 2 for every character that doesn’t have more than 2 jutsus. I feel like it would add more variety to the game. Maybe the idea’s a bit much tho
95% Jutsu Spam 5% Actual combat - Naruto Connections
You shouldn’t be able to call in assist while being attacked, add proper damage scaling, lower the rate chakra recharges without charging it manually, remove armor from every jutsu and support, and a lot of moves need hit stun duration nerfs. Raw Justus need a damage nerf, and all rasengans/chidoris/lightning blades need to hard knockdown the opponent and need a slight start up nerf. Guard breaking should actually be useful, subs should place you a bit further back. Just a few main changes that really really ruin this game fr
Just my idea obviously, just needs to honestly pull in all the best features of the past games:
Damage Nerf
Substitution comes back slightly faster or can return if you find items on the map or something
Assists Nerf (Health Bars and can be temporarily stunned)
Longer gameplay i.e. cutscenes
Moveset custumization since tilts are gone and jutsu's are different
The game just feels like it ends too quickly and you get punished heavily for it
That ramuh theme in the background keeps me calm and serene while watching you get folded like an omelette
