Lou, the absolute best part of growing older (I’m almost 60 years) is you completely accept yourself and you stop worrying about what other people say about you. When I was your age, I was similar to you: I constantly worried about what other people were saying about me. As you age, you learn that these people are either very jealous or there is something wrong in their life. I now feel sorry for them. It’s a long, hard lesson, but trust me, ignore them completely. ❤🇨🇦

So much of the Asian culture is for us to take care of our family and loved ones by supporting them financially. Whatever your situation is, your feelings of feeling overwhelmed and stressed are valid. Its great that you are working hard to support everyone you love while supporting your life. But don’t forget to do something for you. After all the relationship you have with yourself is important. And I do hope you are establishing healthy boundaries from people you are financially supporting.

I,ve had no internet access for a while, so imagine my surprise to see a change in opening graphics. No more "Living alone in Japan" but to find our Lou now has a partner. I think and pray we all hope you have chosen well. It seemed very strange to see a delicious meal served in TWO dishes. Lou C, I know how hard it is to do things and feel good when you are chronically ill. It is so frustrating when others don't understand. But I think the best way of coping for me is to understand that they can't, and give them the opportunity to understand. My exhaustion is an 8 today, my pain a 4, etc...sometimes measurement helps!
Lou I'm from Virginia USA. I'M also 80 years old . Don't worry about people who criticized you about living with someone. This is not the dark ages anymore and things have changed alot. Your a grown woman and nobody has the right to tell you what is right or wrong. You do and live however is best for you. Let them walk in your shoes and see how they handle things. you should use a base polish otherwise your nails will get redish…. and start polishing from the pinky finger to avoid to ruine the polish by going from right to left 👍😊

I have a question but I’m asking to understand not to be rude…. I know u support ur family in the Philippines. I don’t know if that means only parents or if that also includes siblings. Are ur parents not able to work or are they retired? If u have siblings are they not of age to find employment to help out? All that must take a toll on u! … Again, not to be rude but I can see helping out when needed. I don’t understand total support on ur end.
I am assuming that they dont make as much in the Philippines as Lou makes in Japan. So she sends extra money to help out. Many Asian countries do this.

I thought one of the benefits of moving in with your boyfriend would be to have a more stable financial situation... Especially since you have health concerns. Not that you would have a tougher financial situation. I'm guessing he's your age or older, why are you supporting him. You should be having a break and taking it a bit easier and he should help financially now. I'm guessing he moved from his parents house to yours. Be careful.

Pasta con panna e gamberi a colazione? 😅 Comunque un piccolo consiglio di manicure: quando devi togliere lo smalto non strofinare subito, rischi di danneggiare l'unghia. Ti consiglio invece di appoggiare il dischetto imbevuto sull'unghia e di tenerlo per conque secondi: vedrai che lo smalto scivolerà via senza problemi.
We recycle too but we just place bottle with label and cap in the machine and get a little slip of paper at the end that your redeem at the cashier

Making Mayonnaise with boiled eggs is a genius idea - I never thought of doing so. Where did you learn this? It’s much safer, of course, than using raw egg yolks, and seems to work as an emulsifier just fine, too. You’re a great cook!
It's interesting how different breakfast is in Japan and Germany... What you eat for breakfast in Japan is eaten here in Germany for lunch or dinner. For breakfast we have bread, cheese, salami, jam, Nutella or cornflakes or porridge... every country has its own way of breakfast 🙂 but your breakfast looks very delicious, too ☺️
