    Hey Rachel, I love that you're so happy right now. A suggestion for your packing plans, Why not use the wardrobe section you currently use for your clothing to put everything you want to take back to Canada, and swap into the chest of drawers everything that's staying at your mums. That way - you store away items that you don't want to take and can visually see everything you do. That way you can also visualise the volume of stuff to pack and travel with and can edit over the coming weeks xx

    I have a little wire basket on a shelf in my closet for “kinda dirty, kinda clean” clothes and love it. Because I use the same style of basket for other things it doesn’t stick out too much and is really functional

    That “I can’t do anything until January” happens to me EVERY year and the week between Christmas and New Year gets me so out of sorts but I tell myself it’s okay cause by Jan 1st you’ll be on track again 😅 Honestly I probably get more excited about NYE than Christmas just because of the fresh start feeling. 🎉

    I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks about not-dirty-enough-to-wash-pile. I have an ottoman by my window that’s on my side of the bed. I told them nicely and leave them there. Since I have to walk “out of my way” to my closet which is in my master bathroom that’s just clean not worn clothes.

    Nice to see you so upbeat this video, I'm glad 2024 is starting out on a positive note for you! You asked about a sistem for clothes that have been warn but are still clean; I like hooks for them, I've got over the door hooks for shirts/sweeters/etc and hooks in my bathroom for slacks. Those also work for things I need to air out or freshmen up with steam, I put them on the hooks, take my shower and leave them there once I'm done. As for the packing situation, I think organizing them in the drawer for now would be your best bet. Having your suitcase put and in the way for however long it take might start to stress or irritate you? Like a very obvious "hurry up and wait" billboard especially if your still waiting on your visa?

    • @rachelleea
      @rachelleea  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That’s so true, it probably would drive me insane if I were constantly walking over the suitcase. Probs better to maybe use my wardrobe space to start packing and organising things. Thanks for the ideas about the hooks, I love it 😍

    So for vision boards, I make a few different ones. I make a small one I put in my journal I use for the year. And then I have a journal I vision bored it. With both pictures and on the page next to it a sentence or two about what that picture means to me.
    My thought is to keep all the vision bored I make in one space so I can look back and see how much I have changed. And the one I keep in my journal to kinda set the mood and just be there to remind me.

    👕👖👗 When I've worn something but it's not dirty yet I simply hang it on the far side of my clothing rack. My clothes are organized by type and sleeve length so it makes it really easy to tell which items I've already worn. If it's a folded item I put those in a little bin that I have designated on my shelves for that. All of my folded clothes are in my drawers so once again it's really easy to see what I've already used. 😊

    Could you have packing cubes (unzipped/open) in your drawers for the things you are taking, then they just need to be put into suitcase. Maybe in your wardrobe you could have stuff you want to take on right side and stuff you plan to leave on left. That way you can still access it all but the sorting has been done. Apart from that maybe write lists for everything, do the thinking now and it should save you time when moving. I always end up with a couple of items folded on the floor and was thinking of having a basket that slides under my bed for items to rewear. I have seen people have a hook in their bedroom for clothes to wear again. Could hang at one end of your wardrobe. Flowers bring me so much joy too 🌷

      With gift buying consider having a gift page on your notes. List the main recipients you need to buy for in month order inc MOTHERSDAY.anniversaries etc Then when that person mentions something or you think of something note it down. You could also have a general list with ideas eg flowers, wine, chocolates, candle, hamper etc

    Hi Rachel, I have a question. You mentioned “back to school” stationary. Are you heading into Autumn there and do kids go back to school at that time or later in the year? Kids here in the US go back to school late Summer/our autumn which is August/September (with Autumn, of course truly being September 21st-ish to December 22nd-ish).

    • @carolespinoza3446
      @carolespinoza3446 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hopefully Rach doesn’t mind me answering this one, as I used to be a teacher. We are currently in the second month of our summer in Australia, although for some areas it’s a little colder and wetter this year. Our school year runs from end of January through to just before Christmas. We have 4 school terms, broken up with 2 week holiday breaks, the last one being our 6 week summer break from roughly a week before Christmas to end of Jan.

    • @carolespinoza3446
      @carolespinoza3446 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh and Autumn in Australia is technically from March to May, however the actually weather cooling down in March depends on where you are in Australia.

    • @gayleelliott9948
      @gayleelliott9948 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@carolespinoza3446 Thanks :) Can you address the "back to school" piece? I'm just curious when that would be. Ours used to be after Labor Day in early September and kept creeping up into mid August, meaning kids and workers in schools are off only about 2.5 months vs. 3.

    • @carolespinoza3446
      @carolespinoza3446 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@gayleelliott9948 our children go back to school, to start the new school year/term 1, at the end of January. This is still summer in Australia. So our “back to school” stationery supplies are for the beginning of our new school year. It’s completely different to US system, where, if I understand correctly, your school year begins in one year and finishes in the next. Our school years are the same as the calendar year. We start in January and finish in December. Our seasons are the exact opposite of yours as we are in the Southern Hemisphere. So we are in summer, while you are in winter. Hope this makes sense :)

    • @carolespinoza3446
      @carolespinoza3446 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also, we don’t get a 2.3/3 month summer break. Our summer break is 6 weeks. But throughout the year each term is broken up by another 3 x 2 week breaks. So all up 12 weeks holidays. Hope that helps.
